I think it's hilarious that Sing King posted a karaoke version of this song, because if you get up on stage at karaoke night and do an eight minute and forty two second long song, every eye in the place is gonna roll.
Translation: On the rare occasion somebody picks this song, I'm going to be the asshole who rolls his eyes and complains the whole time instead of just dancing and having fun. I'm also narcissistic enough to assume that's how everyone around me will react as well.
tbh this is the first ever song i memorized and sang (i was like 7) and i sang it for karaoke, never in my life did i receive THAT many compliments (mostly from older folks). But, ig looking back i would also be super impressed if a 7 year old got up and sang a 9 minute song basically from memory
Yeah, one of the songs you can really underestimate at first, but are quite challenging. I'm a bass, but usually can make most songs work (high tenor or sopran pieces often work a octave below; most songs for baritons occasionaly get a bit high, but i can manage) but not this song... First half kind of OK, second gets really exhausting
@3:37... I think the name should be "Lenin" not Lennon. Don McLean referred Vladimir Lenin - founder of Communist Russia, and Karl Marx is the book authors of The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital in which Lenin became inspired of the book and started implementing Communism in Russia.
That's interesting what you _think_ it should be, but it's actually not. Official lyrics are Lennon, and it's a reference more than a historical lesson.
you got the chorus wrong - "My my, this here anakin guy, maybe vader, someday later now he's just a small fry. He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye, signing soon I'm gonna be a jedi. Soon I'm gonna be a jedi." That's from memory, not sure if that's a good or bad thing lol

I actually can’t stand that version. And that was actually the first one I’d ever heard. I was a kid when that version came out. To me, I think it is a musical atrocity compared to Don McLean. Of course, I’m not a Madonna fan anyway. I also don’t like how she condensed the song down so much. But I guess some people love it, and that’s cool. To me, you can’t beat the original though.
This is what it’s like to live in darkness without Jesus Christ and feel like you’re dying and Satan is really happy with it and everything else is dying. It’s how I used to feel as a human trafficking slave but now I’m free abs a Christian and I feel ok and I feel God is alive and I’m alive too 🙏😇
On a personal note, i don’t really like these kids of karaoke. Because the music is always different but worse. It would be better if you put the original music

I did this song a couple of times and the versions they play in the clubs are edited and cut down.

Actually, if you do it well, crowds love a 9 minute November Rain (GnR).
They can roll away 🙄 😄 idc I'm still singing this awesome tune 🎶

Wether you know it from the song, a movie or a book we all love the 8:55 minute long song.
My father requested this for karaoke and we sat there for the whole 9 minutes
🤣
I did this in Spain
That is impressive (on your part)! XD
This song hits harder now that my grandpa passed.
With his karaoke song, I just feel like I'm Mateo or Rufus from "They both die at the end" (Adam Silvera) and like I'm singing on the stage 😭
Now I am crying I loved that book 😭
WHYY
The fact there's a third book coming ☹️
I’m reading this book right now .. I just stopped for a while and I came here to listen to this song!! Omg!!! I’m really loving this book

Oh my my, this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
Did you know this junkyard slave
Isn't even old enough to shave
But he can use the Force, they say
Ahh, do you see him hitting on the queen
Though he's just nine and she's fourteen
Yeah, he's probably gonna marry her someday
Well, I know he built C-3PO
And I've heard how fast his pod can go
And we were broke, it's true
So we made a wager or two
He was a prepubescent flyin' ace
And the minute Jabba started off that race
Well, I knew who would win first place
Oh yes, it was our boy
We started singin'...
My my, this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
Now we finally got to Coruscant
The Jedi Council we knew would want
To see how good the boy could be
So we took him there and we told the tale
How his midi-chlorians were off the scale
And he might fulfill that prophecy
Oh, the Council was impressed, of course
Could he bring balance to the Force?
They interviewed the kid
Oh, training they forbid
Because Yoda sensed in him much fear
And Qui-Gon said, "Now listen here
Just stick it in your pointy ear
I still will teach this boy"
He was singin'...
My my, this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
We caught a ride back to Naboo
'Cause Queen Amidala wanted to
I frankly would've liked to stay
We all fought in that epic war
And it wasn't long at all before
Little Hotshot flew his plane and saved the day
And in the end some Gungans died
Some ships blew up and some pilots fried
A lot of folks were croakin'
The battle droids were broken
And the Jedi I admire most
Met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast
Well, I'm still here and he's a ghost
I guess I'll train this boy
And I was singin'...
My my, this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader some day later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
We were singin'...
My my, this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader some day later, now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
