Let me give you my list as well, maybe you'll find something useful. -must- 1. bucket 2. a bathroom slipper cuz hostel corridoors and bathroom floors are way too dirty to walk on with naked legs 3. Bucket and mug and at the very least 2 towels 4. soaps and all, skin care stuff and even if you're not into skincare, PLEASE PLEASE get atleast a moisturiser and a sunscreen. 4. Headphones or earphones for peace, and a lil to medium size speaker for the vibess 5. Powerbank, cuz light outage is common in hostels 6. Laptop with all the laptop stuff, and if you use an external mouse, please bring a mousepad, the table surface is usually rough 7. Medium sized boxes and carry bags or tote bags typa thing, to organise stuff in your almirah 8. A lock, you might need 2, one for almirah one for door, but atleast 1 is needed, for the door 9. A mirror, doesn't have to be full sized, but big enough so you can comb your hair. 10. A bright enough emergency light, can be either a bright torch, or a bright table lamp which is not too heavy to carry around in case of a light outage. 11. I know everyone says extension cord, that is a must must, but also try to get a multiplug, extension cord is still a must, but an additional multiplug will make your life soo easier 12. bed sheets. Atleast 2, one on the bed, one to cover your self 13. warm blanket for winters 14. A kettle. It's usually not allowed, but almost everyone has one, it's just too useful. break the rules for once. If such items are allowed and your budget is good, get an induction 15. A glass, a spoon, a fork, a plate, not too many utensils. Maybe get one more glass or spoon. 16. Water bottles. A small one to carry around, to the mess or to the classes. A big one to keep in your room, cuz some rooms are too far from the water cooler 17. Perfumes and deos, please, hostellers smell a lot. Carry a small pocket deo, and yes get a small comb too, keep the pocket deo and small comb in your college bag 18. A bag for classes, with atleast enough space for a laptop and one or two registers. Mini tripods for people who want to make content 3. room freshers. depends if your room is smelly, cuz some rooms are very close to the washrooms 4. An umbrella if your college gets a lot of rain or a lot of sunrays 5. Trimmers, shaving kit for the boys 6. External keyboard for coders or those who type a lot 7. A cushion for your chair, please 8. Extra cables for electronics, atleast one extra cable 9. Pendrives or ssd cards or external hdd or ssd, for people with a lot of data or photos videos etc 10. Surface sticking hangers, stick them to walls or the backs of your gates 11. Iron for ironing clothes 12. Hair dryers or blowers if you maintain your hair using them 13. Piece of cloth for dusting and all 14. Last point made me remember... Clothes. Not going to give my opinion on this, everyone has a different taste, but please don't carry a LOT of clothes 15. scissors, tape, fevicol, glue 16. Odomos if there are mosquitoes in your hostel area 17. Your medicines if u take some, or just carry basic first aid items 18. Extra pair of socks, they start smelling quickly 19. Extra documents, such as your identity cards, your passport sized photos, basically a folder with the essential documents 20. Stationary items 21. Basic ingredients like salt sugar etc 22. hangers 23. A slightly big bag, for weekend trips or if you go home sometimes without a lot of stuff 24. Surf 25. Laundry bag or a box to keep dirty clothesif you like to do laundry at the weekend 26. Mop and broom 27. Toothbrush toothpaste comb etc 28. A wallet or a purse to keep your money etc
