love the game. ya know, people want games today to be more updated to whats going on, but this game is a good way to betray what might have gone on in the 40's and 50's in which were really unique times in American history.
@@doonishsan when you say that the holiday trailer makes the game look "LESS depressing" it implies that the game was depressing to begin with and this made it *less* depressing, which it wasn't at all
TopGunPaintballer This was a great game, and the first Mafia (for the pc) was excellent. I highly recommend you to buy them! //sorry for replying to an old comment
David Perez Even in the trailers for M2 you weren't teleported outside of buildings after you exit them, but you had to walk the outside world. >SAD that this wasn't included.
Mafia 2 suffered from a sudden change in direction very late in the design phase (ie: when Daniel Vavra left) and 2kCzech scrambled to assemble something that resembled a game. Even before I began researching into the game, my impression during my very first time playing the game was: "Wow, they made a hatchet-job of this! What happened?" Mafia 3 suffered from too many captains steering the ship. Hangar 13 had to farm a lot of stuff out to sub-contractors and it shows. Some things in Mafia 3 are AMAZING: the gun play, the cover system, even the hand-to-hand combat stuff is pretty well done. Even the story really isn't too bad. Where does it suffer? Repetitive mission structure, Lack of location variety, lack of open-world content and lack of beta-testing/bug-repair. Now, to be fair, the mission structure is the LEAST offender of the bunch. Because while it may seem repetitive to the average gamer, what few seem to realize is that the designers left it open enough that there are multiple ways of attacking a location. Only the ones where it's imperative to the story do they become predictable. It's up to the player to use his or her imagination on how to tackle the open-ended locales. The lack of open-world content was somewhat attended to with the DLC's, but still.... stuff like that shouldn't have to be paid for. That should've been in the game since launch, or, at the very least, patched-in later for free. The location variety and beta testing is inexcusable. For one, Hangar 13 should have been monitoring the quality of the work they'd farmed out and two, they should've pushed the launch date back a little to add more polish to the game. Launching an unfinished product to meet a specific date is a classic recipe for disaster. Driver 3 anyone?
that first scene is so perfect aside from awful beta Vito. Luca's expressions as he tells his dumb jokes and how the gang forces out laughter and Vito just sitting there like (-_-)
Помните на миссие когда Генри брал деньги у Бруно они в машине обсуждали кто когда пошёл в церковь?вито сказал что мать заставила когда он на девку засмотрелся так вот тут этот момент присутствует.
I'm Mafia fan, I loved it, I've played it so long time. the first one is a masterpiece to me but unfortunately I have to say this second one can't compare with first one and very sad to see that almost nothing of those videos is in the final game. and there are much and much more cuts (secondary missions, other characters, animals, trains, more Sicilia's maps, missions locations in real time, different endings etc.)
I had some trouble with the second Trailer the Holiday one. Eddie and Michael in one car while Vito's mom is alive? Vito never new Eddie before he was in the can. and michael never worked for/with eddie since he is under another family.
KikomochiMendoza This was all in the very early stages of development, and the voice actors, like Henry in the first trailer was changed during development.
There isnt mission from last trailer :/// i heard they cut this game it was longer. Steve is beating Eric so it was more mission and if u go to Vito's mother house after prison there is hidden video.
What 2K did with the game is a blasphemy. I mean the game is entertaining enough as it is, but it would've been so much more had they let the team do their job - it was meant to be much longer and have a lot more side missions with almost sandbox-like freedom and actual choices when it comes to gameplay and player's allegiances. Working public transport and taxi, areas that cannot be accessed in the game, larger arsenal and melee weapons. The original script was around thousand pages long. The WW2 segment at the beginning of the game alone was meant to be stretched over six missions and the Jimmy Vendetta DLCs are primarily made from cut or unfinished content from the original game. The game needed a year or two more to be finished, but 2K was unwilling to wait for the full product. The main developer and the author of the game was forced to quit his own project because he couldn't take what was being done to his game and spoke against the publisher. All in all, I'd say 2K are worse money-grabbing hyenas than EA.
hawkins347 the game got cut bc rockstar buy 2k czech before the games launching and they cutted it, it would have +180 missions like the lasr trailer and a multiplayer with properties, cars just like gta online i fckn hate rockstar right now
Gabriel Urdaneta You're wrong. Rockstar never bought 2K Czech. Rockstar is a developer company (who have made GTA games) owned by Take-Two Interactive publisher, which also owns 2K Games - the company Illusion Softworks (now 2K Czech) sold themselves to to have finances to develop Mafia 2 for PC and consoles simultaneously, for which they normally would not have the money and the console ports would have to be done at a later time (e.g. how it was done with the first Mafia game), as well as have the sufficient finances to make a game as big as they had planned. Unfortunately since the publisher brings in the money, they also have the authority to dictate deadlines and other creative decisions concerning the game. Assuming that the development of Mafia 2 started immediately after the first game's release, the development took some odd 8 years, which the publisher considered too long (we all know the policy of big companies that release new games every two years to make profit and we also know the wavering quality of those titles). The then creative director of 2K Czech, Daniel Vávra (the creator and writer of the game) did not like the influence they had on his game and the pushing and cuts he had to deal with in order to please them, so he quit the company. Without him to advocate the direction of the game and basically defend and polish the final look of the product, this is what we ended up with. The botched up game that had a potential to be amazing - if not one of the greatest story-driven games ever released (definitely in the genre and possibly even beyond) is a direct result of corporate meddling that 2K Games brought along with their money. The reason the game got cut is because the publisher thought the development was taking too long and only cared about the profits the game would bring, not the quality and overall completeness of the product. Some of the cut content was not even removed from the game code (probably only to make more money with DLCs that would make it accessible).Rockstar had nothing to do with anything, short of being a subsidiary of the same parent company - Take-Two. By the way, as far as I know, multiplayer was never an intended feature of the game (I recall Vávra not being a fan of online gaming); free roam mode was - that is an arcade feature that would allow you to fully explore and wreak havoc in Empire Bay outside of game's storyline - something that first Mafia had and its successor doesn't (unless you play around with the game code and unlock it).
Mafia II, one of the world's most underrated games, DLC' s were entertaining as well as the characters and story, wished mafia III lived up to it's expectations, it had great advertising, But, it tried to run like Mafia II, but just crashed and fell flat on it's face, with almost not even half of what mafia II had to offer....
