Watched several of your games. Really love the content. Notice that you and Mikael hit primarily 3rd shot drops. You are both very consistent and obviously it works well for you guys. Just wondering as a player approaching 4.0 what your thought process is for hitting lots of drops when so many players are trending towards a 3rd shot drive. Not a criticism, just curious as I try to improve as a player.
Great observation! What it comes down to is what is getting you to the kitchen line at a higher rate - 3rd shot drop & 5th shot drop combo or 3rd shot drive & 5th shot drop combo. For us, the former tends to get us there at a much higher rate. However, in the first round of this tournament, I advised Mikael to start 3rd shot driving as the opponents were putting much pressure off of his 3rd shot drop, and the adjustment paid dividends. In the pros currently, they are so good at hitting deep hard serve returns making it tough to drop and they are so good at hitting 5th shot drops off of their drives. Thus, this factors along with many pros strong abilities to apply pressure off the bounce of drops leads to some leaning towards the 3rd shot drive, 5th shot drop combo.
@@jp6070 yea I had that paddle since it came out, just was able to get it replaced before I play APP Fort Lauderdale Pro Qual's, I would say though, the new mod I just hit with yesterday has more pop, it took me 30 minutes to get the ball down on dinks and resets
@@Orangepie86 thank you so much! I have been working on it a ton, still room for improvement in games and tourneys, but will keep grinding to improve that part of my game!
@@elevatedestates8291 yes, mainly due to footwork and anticipation, been working all week with him on this, getting behind the ball always when dinking
Other team was very very solid, that was a great game u guys played
@@ajax3635 thank you, they are definitely are. They beat us good the next 2 games, DUPR average out at over 5.4
@@coachdeanpb Yea, a lot of it looked very intentional with respect to placement and shot selection. Thanks for the vid

Great sliding to your backhand and countering this game! Looks like you improved on it instead of trying to reset high speed ups.

“Was that a bad shot?”
“Yeah”
That made me laugh. lol always good to have a partner you can just be straight up with.
😂 also it was the 3rd time he did that straight into the net 😢. Clean up the shot selection and they will be better
@@kieranmcinerney5552 haha we talked about that, he loved that I was straight to the point, I died laughing hearing that on video
