I’ll watch a lot of Pickleball video but your camera lens set up made this match much more interesting and educational to watch. You could really see the mechanics of the game. this was a fun game to watch - inspirational to us old folks. thanks for posting.
One of the most intense games ive seen you post so far. Amazing control under pressure! It was great to see the fight you both had all the way until the last second. Awesome game to learn from!
6:51 mark always feels tough. When you're being intentionally isolated away and they hit everything to your partner... you get cold. The return that is normally safe & deep flies long and you wince knowing that's the 1st time you've touched in the ball since they had to serve to you last time haha
I've tried both, I tend to struggle picking up the ball when switching due to the split moment when my partner blocks my vision. It's more of a personal preference above all
@@kkct7 yes, for us, after the first half of the game, we were looking to speed up before they did, as we were losing more battles than winning in the first half when they were speeding up first
@@KowalskiPickleball maybe, I also may see what else comes out. Spinwave pickleball provides me solid demo deals, hence why in my videos posted I have used various paddles
@@Nine-gf2hd hahaha, I'll take what I can get for free and is legal; looking forward to hopefully being banned along with other type of paddles. Hoping the future focuses more on spinnier paddles, not power
Good adjustment on identifying Baldie's bh as a safe spot. Baldie's partner has tennis volleys and your partner has the hands advantage on him, even with his hot joola. On dead dinks Baldie fades sideline to sit fh leaving middle open as well as his body. As for you, you've really gotta figure out a one handed counter. Baldie was eating you up in the beginning speeding up at your body. People with better offense are going to eat you up alive.
@@JohnSmith-fb1wz great analysis! I couldn't agree more about the 1 hand back hand counter. I have recently been getting away with the 2 hand BH counter because previous opponents were attacking outside my left shoulder, but after analyzing this one, I have to become comfortable, embrace one hand backhand counters on my inner right hip and shoulder area, will be drilling that heavy to prep for our next tourney
100% what I was thinking while watching. It seems like he needs to be ready for the 2 hand but should look for the 1 hand first. Most of the time the ball popped up was because the 2 hand was close to his body and he seemed tense.
@@coachdeanpb the two hander is actually ok (not great) at protecting the right hip or anything waist or below on the body. The issue is balls at your chest will jam you. Good luck with your journey with the 1hbh. You'll probably suck before you get better. Assuming you're currently using an eastern forehand grip, you'll likely have a crisis around what default grip to use. At some point you'll try to keep the two hander and drop to one hand if it comes body, before realizing almost no one can do that well. Good luck!
@@coachdeanpbehh its a tough call going 1h counter vs 2h. A third option is that those 2h resets were actually pretty high and you could have fire fought with the 2h instead of 2h resetting. Since you are a right side player I like the slide and 2h as long as you predict well. But you dont have to reset which can be harder than just fire fighting
@@user-dk6mw3fz8h my partner thought it was in, they thought the speed up was barely out, I thought it may have been barely out plus I should not hit that speed up that close, especially that I hit 3 dinks earlier from that same slot and saw the middle open on my peripherals. I have to be better there. . Clarke called out Mikael as Mikael called a ball out last tourney against him that I overruled as I saw it in. Neither ball Mikael intentionally tried stealing a rally, he just saw it different from his angle. Clarke felt different and let him know. All four of us have played in a couple chippy games to this point and all have respect for what we all do on the court.
@coachdeanpb from video does look slightly out, especially when both players simultaneously put up the finger. Great stuff though, both sides play extremely well. I really like blue shirts style, smooth. The bald guy really needs a BH dink / drop. Love the competitive spirit, nothing better.
Damn dude with the SD tennis was serving high, 2:40 that's above waist high. Ball doesn't even arc just goes down lol. Can you mention that shit in tourneys or is that a no go like foot faults
Great point; I noticed it was borderline from the start. It's tough to call or dispute without a ref. If I felt it was impacting the game, I would have certainly discussed it peacefully with both teammates, as I do not believe it was intentional in terms of gaining an advantage
