      @@SA64R in my country(Nigeria) the Aerospace Industry isn't so well developed. Considering the fact that Aerospace is limited to citizens in other countries where it's very good like US and UK, I felt doing mechanical engineering will be a safer option and I can still do Aerospace Engineering if I want to at masters level. Two birds, one stone 😅😂.

    Even if you love planes etc you don’t have to automatically do Aero Eng as aerospace employs people also with Mech Eng, Electrical and Electronic Eng, Computing, Software Eng, Maths etc.

      You're correct, but it's just that people who're passionate about aircraft and spacecraft may find aerospace more enjoyable as it is more related to what they're interested in

      I wouldn't say the set you're in determine's whether youi'll become an engineer but rather the grades you achieve. If you get good enough grades such that you can get into an engineering apprentichip or an engineering degree you will be fine.

    Hey Sagar, I am from India and I am not able to decide between mech and aero for BTech. However I am sure that I am gonna do masters in aero coz I have an interest in that. Should I choose mech or aero for my batchelor's ? Considering the opportunities of aero in India I am more inclined towards mech(only batchelor's). And even If I choose mech I am sure that I will be working in aerospace field. But just to expand my opportunities should I choose Mech for batchelor's ?

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  2 года назад +1

      I'd say go for mechanical in your case as, like you said you can get into aero with mech as a degree and it will give you a wide choice of roles upon graduation. I would also say that with a mech Bachelors you can go on to do a masters in aero if you choose to.

    Could I still get an Aerospace job if I studied Mechanicak Engineering? Also wouldn't the field be more broad so more jobs would be available?

    • @christianb4679
      @christianb4679 9 месяцев назад

      Yes you can, but it'll be trickier. I did my undergrad in Aerospace and Masters in Mechanical. I'm now working at a top aerospace company in the UK. Doing my undergrad in Aero really helped me get the job, even so, my master's was biased towards aerospace modules anyway. Mech and Aero are essentially the same degree. However, for aero jobs, the Mech guys won't have the specialist knowledge that the Aero guys would have. At my company, they tend to exclusively hire aerospace engineers, even for mechanical positions as they have much better knowledge of how an aircraft flies/operates.

      @@christianb4679 Ok thanks. I heard some people say that you should study your math, etc. at a public school but study aerospace at a better college. Do you agree with this or is going to a better college for the entire time worth it?

      @@gabeplays9441 You should aim to go to the best school you can as it’ll help. But at the end of the day, the teachers won’t be writing your test. I’m from the UK so I’m not familiar with where you are based, but the University you went to matters little as most courses are accredited by the same bodies so are almost all the same.
