    Hey Sagar!!! So sorry to hear you’re leaving, but it seems you have great things in store for you. I’m joining on the same scheme as you next year- would you say with the grads there’s a consensus that you sort of work at accenture for a bit, then move on to better (higher paid) roles?

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  Год назад +5

      I honestly, think it depends on who you are as a person, some people are happy to just stay at Accenture as they like the nature of the work and the comfort of not having to move companies but others like me want to explore and see what opportunities lie outside of Accenture. However, the consesus in the world of tech is that if you do move between companies, you will learn a wider range of skills, build more connections and you will make a significant amount of more money in your career compared to someone who is stays at one company.

  • @sebastianbarry7033
    @sebastianbarry7033 Год назад +3

    It’s a consulting firm brother, not a tech company. Consulting has pretty high churn rate anyway for the very reasons you brought up. Good for learning though.

    About your role before in accenture, are you also do meeting with client to work on their office? or doing some gather requirement for them? or just doing purely coding to implement all the features did already define by other person division?

    I say this not to be rude but to hopefully share some insight, you will encounter this issue at every company. A lot of companies take the "cookie cutter" approach to develop a solution whether it be software related or hardware related, solely based on what has worked in the past. There are very few companies that want to develop applications in house from scratch. I've been a QA tester for about 7 years working for 3 different companies, in 3 distinct industries (Airline, Finance, and Medical). All of the companies I have worked for want the fast and easy solution. They look at whatever product it is that is currently being used and they try to develop a strategy to apply band-aids so to speak to whatever the problem is. Thats not to say working on a brand new, and innovative software is dismissed wholesale, but most companies are looking for ways to cut budgets and just enhance what already exists. I can relate to the boredom piece, I just hope that a few years down the line you don't think back and say you made a mistake.

    Hi :) I would really be keen to talk to you as I am about to make the decision whether to leave my job and join Accenture in the Technical Architect graduate program and finding it so hard! Would be great to ask some questions if you have time?

  • @richards9850
    @richards9850 Год назад +5

    Sounds like Accenture is another classic stereotype of what a consulting firm is like; rinse and repeat, statement of works and duplication of development for customers

  • @abrahamsecoe87
    @abrahamsecoe87 2 месяца назад

    A honest observation is that you will hardly have things to build from scratch in 90% company, and the reason is that they have their applications built and they don't want it broken. You may have new features to implement from scratch but most of the time you just come as a support.

    Honestly couldn’t relate more. I stayed at Accenture for 1 year before leaving for all of the same reasons. My project was planned in a waterfall capacity and once the rubber hit the road us devs found some unknowns that shook the timeline and we were stuck in limbo waiting for a 3rd party team to alter their product that we were integrating for a client. I was barely making enough to afford rent and couldn’t help but look elsewhere. Their training is great but only because they don’t care if you’re on the bench because they’re not paying much in the first place. I couldn’t stand the bureaucracy. You can spot a cliff you’re heading towards on a project but when everything’s planned out by analyst a year in advance, good luck convincing the client or anyone to change course.
