who knew that Steve was so sensitive. i had to watch this video again to see if i missed something. Literally said nothing untrue. just stated facts and steve got butt hurt because he uses old tests in his reviews. not that big of a deal.

Or maybe the staff didn't directly said they wish they would make less videos? Or maybe they didn't auctioned off a review part the owner said they wanted back?

@@willcarter7079 Gamer Nexus didn't respond to that statement at all when it was released. He only responded after Linus on the WAM show responded to the clip and doubled down. You can give criticism, but at the same time need to be able to receive it as well.

GN and HU may do reviews and tests on hardware multiple times.

@@Hello-ig1px That's what happen when you try to sh*t down smaller and true reliable data, and seeming like at a first glance that you're more serious than the real pros at tech reporting, the issue is that LTT focus more on pure joy of the user watching instead of very technical videos like GN or HU(A special shoutout for them for making things serious and imparcial, Thanks steve.). I would feel certainly mad, imagine that you're the one of the most reliable and based over facts instead of opinions(also contracts), and the kids try to take up their game to your level... Imagine that...

it definetly lost the homey feeling it had from when they were in the house... it was great back then... it grew too much and the quality plummeted and complaints about it were ignored... until now

also epic to see people do presenting things they are passionate about - labs for sure has a lot of potential
edit: when this video thumbnail was shown to me it had less than 300 views - nice to see it now has 100 times more views by now
Well, unless you have Floatplane, people rely on these videos to get the experience
the title and thumbnail is the KEY. and the fact that it actually has what it says would keep the viewer retention high. the algorithm is easy to understand.
I appreciate that, thank you! I feel I put a ton of effort into every video I make (including hiding things in nearly every upload).
I aim to keep things truthful, yet engaging for titles and thumbnails. I’ve never been a fan of “clickbait” when the video has nothing to do with what’s being advertised.

When I was a young teenager, I kept all of my tech boxes and stacked them on my desk hutch similar to the original WAN show set at the Langley house

I could make a whole video on all the times LMG has misrepresented AMD stock coolers in the past 5 years, including disparaging remarks about the athlon cooler that they don't even have and dismissed as insufficient for a 3000G so they used the stealth they had lying around instead. Any time they use a CPU that comes with a stealth they inexplicably pull out a spire or max or prism and claim its the stock cooler. This is one example of thousands. The kinds of things they get wrong are so egregious and elementary people have gotten banned from the r/PCMR discord server for less. The terrible quality of information has been a plague to the entire techtuber space.
That sounds like a huge case of who cares. Plus I now know the PCMR discord sounds like a horrible place full of agro antisocial nerds.

and yes, discord servers are cesspools. that doesn't diminish the point that the level of mistakes LMG operates at isn't even tolerated in the average internet discussion

In fairness, LMG isn't alone, many RUclipsrs think AMD stock coolers are excellent, and that is true of the wraith max and I suspect the wraith spire with its copper slug and taller profile will keep a 5600 under 90 at full load but the wraith spire has disappeared and the wraith max only comes with r7 CPUs, the r5 5600 is stuck with the wraith stealth which when stock will leave you at 95c under full load. The stealth is fine for a 3200g or other quad core AM4, but it is not suitable for 6 core chips
Funny how their cheap potshot about being better testers than GamersNexus ended up sinking what little credibility LTT had left.

8:40 not a cheap potshot. He was just saying they always test new and get new data. That doesn’t mean the content creators use that data (as shown by GN). That’s the disconnect there.

I've worked with people like the bald gentleman in the past. They're often mediocre at their job but very quick to throw shade and act as though they're far more competent than they really are.

Especially since the other big pc tech channels tell their audiences to get multiple sources when looking into purchasing anything.

If i was at my job's building, during working hours, and was caught publicly criticizing my company's peers like this in front of people who i know were going to publish videos of everything i was saying, i would get fired. It's borderline illegal, and definitely a fire-able offense.

The guy was just explaining how the lab is meant to work, hardware off the shelves like any of us would get, not used and not cherry picked from the manufacturers for instance. He could have worded it better but Steve shouldn't have instantly taken offense to it either. The whole situation is stupid from both sides. The little manbaby decided to make a "this is not a drama video" in reaction to it and it clearly was and if he truly is for making sure these sources are credible, he would have / should have done it sooner as he made it sound like it's something he's known about for some time yet he only did this "well fuckyoutoo Q_Q" campaign over someone trying to explain how the unfinished lab is supposed to work when they finish everything and they start producing data.
Arrogance is just the tip of the iceberg really.

@@burnzy3210 He wasn't even talking badly, it could have been worded better but the point he was trying to make was the LAB is meant to test tons of brand new hardware off the shelves that you and I would purchase, not used and not cherry picked from manufacturers. The lab itself is still in the works. The whole point is to have specialized people in their respective fields testing all this hardware to make sure it does what they say it's supposed to under the various operating conditions and see how consistent various GPU's of the same model for instance to compared to each other. I don't see how this is so difficult for people to understand other than the whole hive mind mentality of some man baby taking offense to nothing and talking shit about LMG as a whole and people need to feel apart of something and jump in on it. LMG can and will do better, they are rapidly growing and trying to do too much at one time, shit happens. Imagine that, both Linus and Steve are people too.

Linus himself has explicitly said in the WAN show video that he doesn't care and WILL not correct videos when mistakes are found in the video. That's an ok position for an entertainment company but you can't praise yourself to be a testing company with that attitude.
LMG is a corporation and has shown huge arrogance and greed multiple times.
I'm glad Gamer Nexus exists to fact check these people. People spend hard earned money on PCs and are relying on LTT comments. Meanwhile these bastards say whatever they feel like because they can't be bothered to test correctly.

6:12 Nostalgia, dude. I actually remember those ancient PCMCIA WiFi adapter cards. Must have been from a laptop dated from 2001. It definitely didn’t come with WiFi preinstalled, you had to add it as an option and it would come with that card if you wanted WiFi.

Those robotic arms literally make no sense for testing consumer electronics. I'm pretty sure these guys are not trained engineers with degrees in electrical engineering or testing procedures. Using those robots is not the same as running a performance test on a PC whose testing software was developed by Performance Testing Engineers.

Its insane seeing how large all of this became, when you're one of the people who already watched them in the I think it was called langley House. Good old times with the whole-room-watercooling which didn't work out and similar stuff. I also remember them going insane about the I think it was dual 18-core render server, which also didn't work well as Adobe Stuff (at least back then) didn't really use more than four cores, and at some point this thing was seen in a video laying on the floor and people nearly tripping over that. And don't forget the HDD archive on the bathroom sink.
I'd watch a long-form-factor video of the tour with or without extra commentary added in. Loved the video my guy, keep it up!
Thanks! Yeah I recorded the entire tour, but having limited equipment and being in a group meant there were portions that were too shaky (even shakier than this footage since I couldn’t pack my gimbal) or the audio just drops since I got caught in the back of the group and I was using a fixed microphone.
Unfortunately, the Labs were undergoing construction during our tour, so I had to cut a lot of footage out since the noise was pretty bad. That’s why Gary’s portion regarding the chamber starts in the middle of his explanation. I had to cut the station where they test power supplies entirely because of this same issue.
I know that’s a big explanation, but I hope that adds some context. Thanks for watching!

Seems they have forked out a shed full of cash on all the testing equipment without coming up with proper testing procedures. Retesting every item when a new item is released seems like a massive waste of time/effort and open to error
this testing doesnt even make sense. It doesnt matter if some keys are harder to push than others, and the latency on a wireless mouse can literally not even be that high and still be useable at all. It seems more like their testing procedures are wrong and the mouse is actually malfunctioning because its surrounded by a bunch of robots outputting a ton a of TF interference. At least get people who have electrical engineering degrees who understand robotics and testing procedures and not just some people who spent some time building PC's. Those robots make no sense for testing consumer electronics.
