Wayne Newton, thanks for sharing the backstory of your song 🎶🎶 ... and thanks for your love of Elvis ... you are a good person and great entertainer and singer ... I saw you perform once here in Roanoke, VA (the town where you spent many of your young years, learning your musical craft) ... it was 2007 when I saw you, the same time you were on Dancing With The Stars 💃🕺 (you even had your dance partner Cheryl Burke with you) ... and the show was great ... as I said, you are quite the entertainer !! and this was a good interview ... 💜💜
I am a Las Vegan live & raised our family here. To say that Wayne Newton is a stand up guy will be an understatement, he is a man's man. In my opinion amongst the top 5 all around male entertainers this country has ever produced.
There is a tv show with Wayne Newton- can’t remember if it was “The Haunting Of” but Newton talks about how Elvis appeared to him after his death, when he was performing in Vegas. Seems like Elvis’s message was for Newton to slow down, appreciate and live for those he loved; not to get so wrapped up in the business, etc. It was a fascinating story and I believe it. I think Wayne Newton has an extra sense of vision and mysticism about him- a kind of spiritual gift. His voice is certainly a gift, as was Elvis’s.
That makes me me sad, i was only 12 when died and i made sure my kids knowed him , he had our heart from the start. I'll always love you and your biggest fans was my mom and dad, they had all the records and cheesy movies .we love ya , i even dreamed about ya.
This was a great interview. I really do like Wayne Newton. But you know, I cant help but feel so sad for Elvis. Even those few private words he scribbled down on a piece of paper and then threw away were not private. They were retrieved from the trash and auctioned off at Southerby’s . Then bought by a friend who wrote a song and named an album after it. That just seems so very sad to me. ❤️
I think believing to know a celebrity well, based on a few interviews, is a bit silly but I have to say Wayne Newton always impresses me because he appears to have some level of honor and integrity. That is on display here.
Wayne Newton and Elvis were gentlemen through and through and I'm sure Elvis felt real friendship in Wayne because Mr. Newton needed nothing from Elvis. They just don't make them like this anymore. It's an all about me world now and people only care what they can get and not what they can give.
There is a lot of people that do only care about themselves but there the ones that miss out those who do care about others get such back lot back in return in many different. Ways, Elvis knew this he loved to help people and see there happiness that's one big reward sad there's not more people like this thou
I have always liked Wayne Newton. And looks like he was a good friend to Elvis. God bless him. But unfortunately life took its toll on Elvis and his heart gave out.
I would watch Wayne Newton on the televison years ago as he sang his heart out. His brother lived in Fayetteville, Tn for years he owned a radio station nearby. His large home was auctioned off last year.

I'm sure Wayne honestly felt he was friends with Elvis as did a lot of Celebrities, such as Tom Jones ect.,,,truth is, I feel, is that ,very many people felt that they were great friends with him too. Elvis had that warmth and charm that when he talked to you,he made you feel like your the most important person in the room,Man or women! a lot of credit ,I believe should go towards his upbringing, his Momma was on to him at an early age ,to be polite and respectful with whomever your with ,another reason is because of his very humble childhood,he never looked down on people, that is not an easy feet when your famous and loved and adored the world over,,Elvis was a great performer but his personality was iconic!
I think Wayne Newton was an awesome French Elvis and he cherishes their friendship he didn't want people to talk bad about on he's watching what he says and tell him tell him what a great guy Elvis was and that's a friend thank you Wayne Newton and thank you for the letter❤❤

WAYNE YOU SPOKE VERY NICELY ABOUT YOU & ELVIS
Commendable for paraphrasing while respecting the contents of the letter. Wrote a song around the letter NOT about it, shows character, thank you
Mr Newton has always been a stand up guy. Glad to see this interview.
Very nice video. Wayne is a classy guy, and long live the King!
Now that is what a friend is all about!
Wayne newton is loyal and Elvis and him.were good friends and I had the honor to meet the both of them love
donnamfrom vegas❤❤❤❤❤❤

ABSOLUTELY A BEAUTIFUL SOUL & SUPER GOOD FRIEND TO ELVIS AND TO HONOR HIS LETTER AND TURN INTO A SONG 🙌🏼🤝🙏🏼
i thank wayne for buying thre letter and honering elvis i miss him so much
Hi Claudia
There is a tv show with Wayne Newton- can’t remember if it was “The Haunting Of” but Newton talks about how Elvis appeared to him after his death, when he was performing in Vegas. Seems like Elvis’s message was for Newton to slow down, appreciate and live for those he loved; not to get so wrapped up in the business, etc. It was a fascinating story and I believe it. I think Wayne Newton has an extra sense of vision and mysticism about him- a kind of spiritual gift. His voice is certainly a gift, as was Elvis’s.
Thank. You. Wayne. For. Staying. Loyal. To. Elvis. He. Deserved. That. He. Was. Loyal. Too. Two. Wonderful. Performers.
I've known Wayne personally since 1981 he is a great person I have this on vhs
That makes me me sad, i was only 12 when died and i made sure my kids knowed him , he had our heart from the start. I'll always love you and your biggest fans was my mom and dad, they had all the records and cheesy movies .we love ya , i even dreamed about ya.
@Rick O'Shea ... judge people much ?? 🤔 ... that's just being mean 😕 ...
Hi Lisa
tcb wayne! total respect
Wayne Newton=class....I loved Elvis makes me sad hearing how lonely he was...but he's in heaven now...much better place
Wayne and Ann two real friends of Elvis
This was a great interview. I really do like Wayne Newton. But you know, I cant help but feel so sad for Elvis. Even those few private words he scribbled down on a piece of paper and then threw away were not private. They were retrieved from the trash and auctioned off at Southerby’s . Then bought by a friend who wrote a song and named an album after it. That just seems so very sad to me. ❤️
Great interview-wish it went longer
+Tom Cox INTERVIEWS involving ELVIS is always great! THAT IS WHAT ALL THOSE USING HIS NAME COUNT ON ~ ELVIS WAS LOVED BY HIS FANS!
I respect you. Your a great human being! Love you and Elvis! ❤️🙏🐬
I think believing to know a celebrity well, based on a few interviews, is a bit silly but I have to say Wayne Newton always impresses me because he appears to have some level of honor and integrity. That is on display here.
That's nice of way Newton
Well said Wayne
I would watch Wayne Newton on the televison years ago as he sang his heart out. His brother lived in Fayetteville, Tn for years he owned a radio station nearby. His large home was auctioned off last year.
Thank You Wayne, you are so incredible! As you are too! How lucky you were to have known him, and loved him as your friend!
Elvis beautiful inside and out. I like Wayne very much also
I’ve never heard any big star say anything negative about Elvis. Saw the king in Hawaii 73. Was also broadcast around the world via satellite. Before Elvis there was nothing. John Lennon
🌴😎🌈Aloha 🤙🏼
Wayne Newton is a beautiful human being with a very deep soul. Elvis was very fortunate to have Wayne as a friend.
Wayne always a class act. I wish I had a billionth of it.
Very insightful, thank you Wayne .
Very interesting interview. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you for sharing, very interesting,
Really miss TNN, great music and family friendly programs.
Wayne Newton & ELVIS 🕺 were very good friends and he has a huge memorabilia of ELVIS 's most important pieces and he lends them to ELVIS shows like at The London Gallery of priceless artefacts of the KING 👑 RIP LEGEND
Long Live the music 🎶
Wayne Newton interview about Elvis i love this story behind the song i love the letter prove his true friendship he had with him
Yes, Wayne Newton is a class act
Absolutely 👌😊
I think the same.
So sad, glad you were there for him !!!!
I think Wayne Newton was an awesome French Elvis and he cherishes their friendship he didn't want people to talk bad about on he's watching what he says and tell him tell him what a great guy Elvis was and that's a friend thank you Wayne Newton and thank you for the letter❤❤
Thank you Mr Newton.
Great interview. Thoughtful questions and equally thoughtful answers by Mr Newton.
