268,000 miles on a Lamborghini. Awesome. And people think 30,000 miles on a modern Ferrari/Lambo is high. All cars are meant to be driven. just maintain it and it will last forever.
+Makedeth exactly but running a car for 5000 miles a year vs 200 miles doesn't really cost much more. if anything it's cheaper as cars don't respond well to sitting around unused. Sure something could break but age breaks stuff just as quickly as wear does so you might as well enjoy the beast.
You cant compare 268k miles on a normal car with 268k miles on a supersport or performance car. Especially the modern ferrari and lamborghini engines rev way higher. They wear out 2 to 4 times faster. Thats the uncommon thing about the 268k miles. Not the owners who put them into a garage and dont drive them.
+D Mc There's a guy in the UK has a Murcielago which has 258,000 miles on it, mostly hard-driven track miles (he runs a trackday experience company). Sadly, it was crashed heavily in 2013, but it's on SORN so I presume it's being rebuilt.
The 400 GT is the first Lamborghini I ever saw....and like a beautiful woman, you never forget...the story goes like this....It's summertime, 1969... I'm a 15 year old kid, living in Costa Mesa, Ca....I worked at McDonalds on 19th street..and lived on the other side of town by South Coast plaza, so I rode my bike to work. One night I got off at 9:00 pm and started my ride home...going down Harbor Blvd. there were several small independent car dealerships...today we call them "sled lots"...anyway...I see this beautiful metallic baby blue Lamborghini sitting on the point with a price tag of $7,000...I stopped and spent about 20 minutes just looking, staring, looking some more...I never forgot that car and the 400 GT is still one of my all time favorite automobiles....bar none..
@@ale16_69 How TF do u come to that conclusion????? I bet u ANYTHING u could get as much good use out of an American car from the same period, if not more so. At least ours are built to last!!!!!
I like that in this video the car is illustrated well. There are good wide shots and mid shots. In the past there has been a problem with these Petrolicious videos where there have been only close-ups of the car. I'm very pleased to see the wide and mid shots in this video.
One of my top favorite cars. I salivate thinking about restomoding this car with modern engine, trans, suspension, LED lights and rear light bar. I want old cars on the road forever, but restomods are the future.
Sir...although I don't know you...I wanted to congratulate you...not just for the car, but for actually driving is as much as you do. And understanding that cars are meant to be driven. Sure...lets keep a few in museums...and sure...there is the investment-car industry...but seeing you driving it along that georgeous country road... makes me wish someday I have the funds to buy my dream car, and the health to enjoy driving it. I wish you many...many more years to enjoy your car...and Life.
I love this channel because its all about normal people with normal means enjoying some pretty special cars. People who actually drive these cars for what they are, not because of what they themselves think they are.
What a machine! I love seeing such a beautiful and sophisticated refined car that still gets worked on and understood by it's owner instead of being a showpiece in a collection. Beautiful car.
i love this car and the owner's attitude about it. they are kinda strange looking, but in a good way...cannot mistake it for anything else. a bucket list car for me
+Ozzstar Agreed but have to ask U think he had still running strong all this time had he not made those personal JAGUAR mods to it? Let be realistic most owners would not be able to modify their classick cars like he did.
I understand what you are saying but time and time again I see people with perfectly running cars and they park the it and don't drive it anymore. Then the neglect turns into nothing but mechanical nightmares most times sitting under a car cover. Machines need to be used and the heat they create is a good thing to keep things free and flowing. Check out my youtube channel, I know how to fix cars ;-) I'm a car nut! Take it easy
Honestly my favourite Lamborghini...so beautiful I saw one for sale the other day in my dream spec: Storm Grey with red interior and the wirespoke wheels. Absolute perfection
I'm glad to see people treating these cars the way they were supposed to, out on the road, driven, but still in beautiful condition. Makes me sad seeing the old classics from 50s~70s with less than 50k on them, you know no one ever drove them, they just bought them as a furnishing for their garage
I remember when Jay Leno showcased Jack's Lambo a year or two ago. It was great then, and it's great now. He mentioned that the engine has been rebuilt multiple times. I love that he drives it like Ferrucio intended. I'd also like to thank you for your service to our country, Jack.
What a likeable guy, and a very nice car. Agree, old cars need to be driven. Standing unused for a bare few months will wreak havoc, seals dry up (oil leaks everywhere), moisture will creep into the carb and distributor, brakes seize-up (at least here in Norway), the best way to keep them running, is to run them.
As an Italian and car enthusiast I discovered this car when Jack brought it to Jay Leno. For many Lambo fans the first Lambo is the Miura but it's sad that very few people know the 400 GT. You can buy it for much cheaper than a classic 60ies Ferrari and it is truly beatiful and most importantly extremely reliable. I had the chance to drive it and I must admit that it is very fun with a pure v12 exhaust note and a great comfort.
She's so gorgeous!!!! It's really a blast to see such an amazing piece of art being taken care of by an aesthet like this gentleman! Sir, you made my day! I'm glad I could hear about that cool love story today.
The stories of the guys who bought these classics new... always amaze me more than the folks that own them now. How in the world did that guy get this car, why this one, what was the story when he bought it... and if or when later did he regret he sold it. One things for sure, back in the day he would have been the coolest of the cool. What a moment in history.
He was on jay lenos garage with this car as well. Pretty neat. Love the channel by the way, just subscribed thanks to shockmansion! They posted one of your vids
"...you've got a clutch in there to worry about..." Is there any other kind of transmission worth having? Great film; great bloke. Petrolicious does this kind of thing so well when it's minded to.
+Patrick Knight I'm in So Cal, based on the roundish rocks on the hillsides it looks like the Escondido area, just north of San Diego. We have very similar roads in Calabasas and Malibu but I know them and I don't recognize the roads in the video. Normally I do, like in Leno's Garage when he's out driving though the country, I know all those roads like the back of my hand.
+Patrick Knight Hi Patrick, the roads are in East County San Diego. The primary artery is State Highway 94 and there are some side roads (Honey Springs Road) that were used for the video shoot. I frequently use these roads for drives on weekends.
When cars had character. It's just one of the most beautiful cars ever made. In an era when design ruled everything. And it will stay so for all time ... :-)
268,000 miles on a Lambo! Bless this man.
that would amount to approximately 358 carbs touch up lol
He rebuilt the engine 5 times...
probably over 300k now
268,000 miles on a Lamborghini. Awesome. And people think 30,000 miles on a modern Ferrari/Lambo is high. All cars are meant to be driven. just maintain it and it will last forever.
Yes sir, all you have to do is maintain it.
+D Mc Of course, but maintaining a lambo or ferrari is very, very expensive :D Then again, someone who can afford one can afford to maintain them too.
+Makedeth exactly but running a car for 5000 miles a year vs 200 miles doesn't really cost much more. if anything it's cheaper as cars don't respond well to sitting around unused. Sure something could break but age breaks stuff just as quickly as wear does so you might as well enjoy the beast.

almost none of the hardcore collectors will ever experience what this gentleman does with his passion .
There is a big difference between a collector and an enthusiast. This guy is most definitely the latter.
$7000 back then, would be $40000 today. I wish cars like this today were not so ridiculously overpriced.
+Furkan Turfanda 40.000? for this car you can put 250.000k if your lucky someone sell one in the first place
+fullfunk 250.000.000? Haha, j/k. Furkan meant the $7000 in 1972 money was equivalent to $40.000 today.
You can probably get a 308gtb for about that. It's about buying the era that's still depreciated
+Furkan Turfanda Limited production run makes them desirable.
Don't forget how little people earned back in the day. $40,000 back then would have been a crazy amount of money.
The 400 GT is the first Lamborghini I ever saw....and like a beautiful woman, you never forget...the story goes like this....It's summertime, 1969... That leather covered dash is just gorgeous.
What I like is the leather cover underneath the bonnet. i'd think that would be a bit too far.
Yap
268000 miles?! Respect, sir.
268,000 too many for this car!!!!
@@michaelmeliambro5117 at least is not as bad as a 60s american car...
@@ale16_69 How TF do u come to that conclusion????? I bet u ANYTHING u could get as much good use out of an American car from the same period, if not more so. At least ours are built to last!!!!!
This dude is a damn legend.
Taylor Ray Nice to see you here!
Those headlights are just absurd. I love them.
Thanks for the info. I looked up some images of the earlier model. I think I prefer those ridiculous headlights of the US version.
They are from the NSU TT and TTS and are also on the Muench TTS Motorbikes
They reminds me of rolls-royce silver shadow II for some reason
We love this channel! Always nice to be reminded where it all started from!
That guy has class. Almost as much as his car! haha
Props to this guy for driving the shit out of this car.
I remember Jack from a Jay Leno's Garage episode! Awesome car and owner
Jack this is a gorgeous car! excellent video as always, my favorite channel on youtube
The car's epicness is only matched by the glasses
Holy shit 360hp
That's crazy man...
Beautiful car
Everything about this is excellent, but that quilted hood lining takes the cake!
I like that in this video the car is illustrated well. There are good wide shots and mid shots. In the past there has been a problem with these Petrolicious videos where there have been only close-ups of the car. I'm very pleased to see the wide and mid shots in this video.
much better intro!!

Good for him for driving it as much as he does. I love seeing that, instead of buried in a barn somewhere or just sitting in a garage.
salute-veteran status. I hope to retire in a similar fashion
i wish that guy was my neighbor lol
fantastic Jack!!! keep driving it
I love this channel because its all about normal people with normal means enjoying some pretty special cars. People who actually drive these cars for what they are, not because of what they themselves think they are.

Again a beautiful Classic Car in good hands....
i love this car and the owner's attitude about it. they are kinda strange looking, but in a good way...cannot mistake it for anything else. a bucket list car for me
If you own a car use it, like the guy in this video. It's a waste to park a car in a garage unused and neglected.
+Ozzstar Agreed but have to ask U think he had still running strong all this time had he not made those personal JAGUAR mods to it? Let be realistic most owners would not be able to modify their classick cars like he did.

Very clear that you love and enjoy the car--hope you keep it up for many more years.

Agree 100% on the driving. Cars do thank you for putting them in the road... my Maverick is aways running.
Congrats on the feature! Great job!
That is an amazing car with quite surprising mileage.
Great vid

awesome video,man ,and story
Stunning Lambo... I had a 1988.5 Countach 5000QV but have always loved the 350/400 GTs... Keep it for ever!

What a sound, man!

1967 is the year I started school, when it was new, so was I. The 350GT or the 400GT, my favourite Lamborghini.
Is there a better RUclips channel than this one? Don´t think so. And the shot at 5:50 is the best thing ever!

More of this stuff please!
He’s absolutely right about driving them regularly…they need that. And I don’t mean 2 miles once a month….😎👍
As always I wonder... were are these roads? Looks like a fascinating place to drive.

Gotta love a DIYer that actually drives his stuff.
Want to see in live, and touch and driving! Very cool car, beautiful and amazing
Lol there's one selling for $800k here in Canada
At the Lamborghini Montreal dealership, I've seen it in person and it's quite the beauty
+Salik Raees - $800,000. is ridiculous.
What part of Canada? that's nuts lol
Its at the Lamborghini Montreal dealership
price is just going to get higher. Im bit of a car nerd and I didn't even know this model existed. Buy it =D
That engine bay and description of it are a mechanical masterpiece. At least to the eyes, ears and mind.
A awesome car, driven by a awesome person.
I respect the fact that he actually drives it........ most people just look at them and let them collect dust
Awesome way to get around.
Beautiful car.
beautiful car
So much class.

He was already on Jay Leno's Garage. Great History
This guy is the real deal folks! Watch his episode on Jay Leno's garage, he is very knowledgeable and work on the car himself.
Glad to see he put all those miles on it.
I saw the name of the channel and I had to suscribe
