The fact that a lot of people over there don't even realize that they're being repressed is so sad......
It is they are brain washed I just wish they can be free to actually have a choice to eat hairstyle to travel and meet new people that aren't their enemies
Of course they know!
This could be the same on a grander scale for all of us Earthlings. As creatures stuck within the milkyway, we simply wouldn't know any better. The Zoo Hypothesis could be real for all we know. The Aliens may be repressing us all! ൠ /̵͇̿̿/'̿'̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿🌎

Never really thinking a "fashion Police" as any *actual* police... Then to think North Korea took that literally, and *actually has* a fashion police... What a world. 😳
They’re called the Public tandardsS Police. Sometimes, people from the Socialist Youth League, an organization that North Korean teenagers have to join between the ages of 13 and 15, travel the streets to look for violators of established dress code rules. A little fun fact about the kpop performance that Kim Jong Un organized, one of the groups Red Velvet released a song right before called “bad boy” which had a dance move where the main dancer Seulgi turns and shoots a gun (not a real one she just used her hand to pretend it was a gun) to make sure they didn’t offend anyone in North Korea, Seulgi changed the dance move for the performance to better suit the NK demographic. For awhile, back when DVD's were a thing, a common tactic of the North Korean police was to cut off the power to an apartment building, and then raid every apartment.
If you had any Western movies or shows in your DVD player, off to prison you went.
(Also, a lot of North Koreans aren't allowed in the military. At one point, 25% of young Korean men were considered unfit for military service because of maltrition-related disabilities.
And if you're one of the lower classes--if you are, or your ancesters were, thought to be Japanese collaborators, or rivals of King Sung Il for power before the takeover, or tried to flee the country, or were Christian, then you're not trusted to be in the military.)

Fun fact, there is a book by a guy who escaped one of North Korea's prison camps. Why he was there is because his Uncle defected. His father nor his mother attempted to defect and they never showed any signs of wanting to do it. It is said that North Korea's social class goes as Prisoners, Poor farmers, Middle class families and The high leadership. His mother and Brother were executed in front of him when he was young. I could go on and on about the prison camps and the journey to escape but just read the book.
