It takes so much for a baby elephant to survive to adulthood. That’s why I feel disgusted at people who hunt/kill elephants or allow others to come to their country and hunt elephants for money.
Poachers account for the majority of elephant kills.
Poachers should be publicly executed.
Actually, people who pay large sums of money to kill specific animals are a large reason why African conservation efforts are working.
I agree when referring to poachers, but reserve’s will let paying hunters kill specific elephants, usually old bulls who are sterile. This provide a large amount of fund witch are used by the reserve to hire guards to prevent poaching. Aside from safaris and nonprofits, this is how reserves stay running.
chinese medicine trade is a huge reason for poaching.
I really liked the fact that the teens, even though not happy with being left with a baby. Stayed with the little one until help arrived. Attitude at the moment or not, they did right.
It was also a good idea for the teenagers to make a fuss. Baby elephants need the big massive size of older elephants right next to them to block some of the water pressure.
My goodness, I didn’t realize the herd was so huge, I almost had a couple of major heart-attacks watching this episode. Just think, they are thriving so well now, they had 5 more calves in their herd compared to losing several in the past years up until the twins were born, so happy for them, they can live like wild elephants now, they earned it!!! ~ xx
