Without our intervention (mainly supplying the bamboo they need) and help with breeding, they aren't at risk of going extinct. But man, their lifestyle doesn't make sense. A carnivore that chose to only eat plants that offer little nutrition. It's worse than a Koala. Koalas at least evolved to have smaller brains that take less energy to nourish, but not Pandas. They're enormous and barely get by as it is. But despite my bias, they are important no less, and deserve to be in better conditions than a metal cage.
I think Panda should be put in better environment for this purpose. Cold room looking like a prison cell is it really a best place to accept your baby? Why not somewhere outside in nice sunny day on gras with some bamboo?
Wow is that how they keep the pandas in a cold hard cell !the poor things man can't those people ever get any thing right have they never had any compassion for any thing !
newly birthing mothers are usually kept in a small stable for observation, easy treatment, and to protect the babies from environmental hazards, it's actually pretty normal
It looks more like a reptile with sparse hairs. Bizarre! Or is it normal simply because we're accustomed to see bear cubs in more advanced stage grown up during hibernation?
The elephant mother 😢. Those camera people & the crew can’t not interfere? When the situation becomes so dire like that? They just film It & let the calf die while they have water, milk & foods in Their possessions ?
They’re legally bound and ethically bound to not interfere with the biological ecosystem. You have to be a spectator, they are a camera crew not trained professional or state approved carers from where they are from. They is a visitor. As sad as it is, they have no choice. Record or not even get the chance to see the beauty of nature.
@@PlumpsHubris Shouldn’t legally and ethically include having physicians and veterinarians onboard to render appropriate care to people and animals? Why would anyone want to deliberately film or watch a mother elephant unable to save her baby?? I’ve seen many other videos where (trained) people have rescued baby elephants from drowning or other life-threatening perils; it can be done. I’m sure BBC Earth has a purpose and does good things. But, for me personally, I will not take another chance at opening another of their videos and have it be like this one. I unsubscribed, which is my personal choice based on my own opinion.
@@luvcats120 hello nice to hear how you’re applying your logic and reasoning to this conversation. I kindly ask next time just don’t. As you’re just outright wrong. Anyone who takes up this role is duty bound to uphold ethical boundaries. Same as you can’t kill another animal you cannot save them. You’re there to be a visitor not to intervene with the balance of animals. You are also responsible for showing a realistic showing of the animal kingdom. You are not allowed to dramatise or show a fake representation of the animal ecosystem. The whole point of watching seeing an animal pass is to show the true brutal nature of this ecosystem we see from a far. Maybe do a bit of research if you care that much.
@@PlumpsHubris Your comment was condescending and rude. Unless you are a highly educated animal expert, you have no right to tell me I am wrong just for expressing my opinion. For the record, I have done a lot of research about wild animals and, while I am not an expert in the field, I do have some knowledge. As I stated previously, I am not interested in watching videos showing the brutal nature of animals in the wild (no more than I would be to watch the brutal nature of how humans treat each other). I am aware that these things happen..I just don’t want to watch or see it. All people are different… this video affected me deeply; based on your comments, for you it appears to be business as usual, which is fine. I don’t call you out for “seeing nature as it is”. I would expect the same consideration simply for having a different opinion about this subject.
@@luvcats120 my experience - worked for ITV, BBC, Sky and discovery. In the filming industry. All I’m saying is common sense. If you disagree that’s fine. Just you ain’t thinking.
This video caused me a lot of anxiety…If I had known what it was really about, I would not have watched. It was extremely stressful to watch animals suffering, especially the poor baby elephant at the end. I often wonder that in these situations, there is a film crew and probably experts in the area…could they possibly have had a way to save that baby elephant before it died? Couldn’t they have distracted the mother away for just a bit to go in and get him? I think I may have to unsubscribe. Videos like these are way too stressful, for me at least.

All of her little babies just keep rolling down the rocks. 😱Poor tigress. A mother’s work is never done. 🥰
Mama bear is doing what good protective mothers would do even when faced with danger to themselves to protect their young. That’s a good mom😊
Untill she is starving, then she will eat them, like a good mom
@@martinondrus6344 Male bears will kill the cubs of females so that they can impregnate them again.
I've never heard of a female eating her own cubs.
I finished with elephants. I understand that wild life is harsh, but this is too much for me. I haven't cried like that for a long time
I really wanted them to step in. But that be wrong also.
Thanks for this comment-you helped me avoid something I’m not ready for today!
Why'd you guys leave the saddest one for last 😭༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ god that made me cry, really shows their harsh reality 😔
Happy Mother's Day BBC Earth
BBC Earth are you trying to give me a heart attack? Drowning (nearly) baby elephants? Here I thought I'd watch a nice, sweet, relaxing video.
Dont forget about penguin chick nearly freezing to death
That panda enclosure is disgusting. Hard surfaces and no grass or trees.
lil dude put his whole body into it when he screamed for his mama omg. it’s all he can do to survive :(
WHAT THE HECK?! All the triumphant stories and you end with THAT?! 😭😭😭
It's all fake anyways
@@stellviahohenheim Like… Natural science is fake? 😅

Omg that little baby penguin 🐧 😭 and the last one...omg I cried 😢
Happy Mothers day
I don't know why you had to end on a dead baby elephant. Happy Mother's Day.
Thats life
Spare a thought for the photographers in each episode. The narrative in each case is beautifully done. Cape Town. South Africa.
Sinh tồn giữa thiên nhiên hoang dã thật là khắc nghiệt và khó khăn cho những sinh vật mỏng manh , bé nhỏ
Terharu melihatnya, bahagia anak gajahnya selamat ❤
and you gave me a heartbreak … this last dying elephant … 😢
0:43 „she show little interest”… being imprisoned and somehow depressed… in some human made cage… Maybe try to think her way…
this is in China and being ignored by Chinese little pinky. but Chinese little pinky accuse America zoo abusing Panda.
Last one is extremely sad, maybe some forewarning in description would've been nice to know I was about to see a baby calf take its last breaths
This video should be uploaded for mother's day🤗😃😃
Was that tears in the mother elephant's eyes?😢🐘
Its no wonder pandas are going extinct.
coz male parents of any kinds on this planet r useless
Pandas were laying flat way before the Chinese did. Now, they're all becoming pandas 😅
Lmao! Extinct. They are literally one of the few species removed from the extinction list.
They would have already gone extinct if it wasn't for our intervention.

mamma bears are one of the most deffensive ones. Doesn't matter they are defending against what. They just attack💪🏻
