For the record, I’ve solved the issue With downloading the AI paint files from trading paints roster, by deselecting the “clean up paint files when I exit iRacing” option in the trading paints advanced settings on my PC. It took me two attempts at racing the same 38 cars roster, but after that, I could see every paint scheme in the field without having to make a local file. It seems like TP can’t handle large fields all at once, but after two attempts, they were all there, and they populate immediately thereafter because the tga’s are saved in your “car” specific folder. Best of luck!

This was a great video. I am planning on doing most of my racing offline against AI and have been searching everywhere on how to get the AI cars to look knowing the standard file naming conventions. Can't wait until I am able to get a subscription to the game, design my own cars and then create my rosters.

I assume the video addresses issues when the paints dont show up in a local AI single race. Any suggestions?
Question, any idea on the issue that I am running into? I do all the TP stuff. I get it running & I can see the schemes. I save the files to my local folder. I then go to create an opponent roster & assign the paint scheme from the folder….. It worked amazing for a modified roster. But, I tried doing it for an Xfinity roster & it won’t work at all. I have a question though, what can I do about AI cars' spec maps not loading from cars I add from TP to a collection and make into a roster? Is it along the same lines as this? The spec map file "should" load during the process too. However, I have found it to be hit and miss at times. I have not determined why yet the spec map files do not always load yet.
Just a comment on the .json file... Whether you duplicate or create a roster - once you set the 'skills' for the drivers to what you prefer - SAVE that .json file along with your created roster so the skills remain as you set them.

Is the roster you are favoriting in TP AI ready? If not, that could be the problem. If it is, I'm befuddled. I've had issues with some rosters, but not all of them. Another option to try would be to create your own collection in TP and make it AI ready. If none of those work, reach out to TP support.

TP used to work for mine, but since I installed a few new components to my PC and factory reset it, even using my old TP and iRacing accounts that are linked, I cannot get anything to populate to iRacing. Biggest thing I've ran into is that Microsoft OneDrive cannot be linked or it causes issues so mine is not. I've also used the Beta version of TP to see if that helped, ran each in Administrator mode, nothing. I was hoping the comments would help me out on this issues. TP hasn't responded to my ticket either. Blah.
Cool! Great Video. It's March 2023 and the new build for S2 has AI changes... I currently have no issue with paints loading in an AI race (Once I have all paints I save them in a folder to reconcile not loading when that happens - refresh and good to go). BUT; now paints are NOT loading on a Replay no matter what. Any ideas? I will try the local folder, thanks!
Ok, Local folder use - AI replay still does not load paints....... Frustrating... I can now only assume iRacing broke something.... Luckily, replay paints do load in human racing...sessions.

Is Trading Paints running? Have you looked at the Trading Paints settings to make sure the correct options are checked - ruclips.net/video/-c9U-FU48DU/видео.html
From the UI on your main AI roster , there is a slide click button to turn off the iRacing stamped numbers. This will keep the stamped numbers off the car.

IRacing just assigns an available number while the league requires the same number every race. How do I assign a number that will always stay with the car in a league race?

Place this file in the car folder and make sure your click the box in iRacing Options Graphics menu to turn on Show Custom Numbers.... damn after typing all that, I may make a video on how to do it as it can be a little confusing.
So I have a very interesting problem, whenever I'm doing public races with other people everyone's schemes get mixed, like I'll be running a mustang and some random guys Toyota scheme is loaded on to my car, and everyone else's schemes are all screwed up and mixed too, so I can't tell who is who, even the name banners get messed up. I tried installing and reinstalling already. Idk what to do. It's really annoying.
This is an iRacing problem recently affecting more people. It is related to your PC memory and graphics card. The recent patch allegedly fixed it, but you can refer to the patch notes for the specifics about the problem. Hey man so I got the ai rosters and my schemes to work just fine but I’m having an issue with creating a crust on roster, why is it that you have .tga on your files but mine come out as one singular file that’s a “json” file instead any help? Edit: I even used a converter and all it did was take the json text file and turn into a tga paint scheme lol Edit edit: got it all figured out!

Hello, Ive downloaded Trading Paints and connected it to my Iracing account. I went and created a collection and favorited a few collections. When I go to the iracing UI, none of the collections appear in AI Opponent Rosters, or anywhere else. They also do not appear in my files. Can you give me any help on this? I even tried reinstalling trading paints but no luck.

I think I found the problem, If you favorite a collection of 1 person that did all the paintings you only get 1 car_idnum.tga file in the roster folder....the rest get a 4 digit TGA number in the specific car folder under paints.

Only 2 custom paint schemes load from trading paints each time i race. Ever seen that problem? Cool video totally subbed
Maybe not that few, but I have had that problem. Sometimes TP paints just refuse to load for whatever reason.

Try to use the Trading Paints Beta - you can down load it on the TP site, follow the directions to install and see if that corrects your issues.

Odd. Is TP working when you are on the track in a normal race or practice session?
I have the same problem. no AI collections are load not even I made myself, no TGA files showed up in the rosterfolder.
