For me - a 1x requiring a restart plus Time Trial laps only giving something like 30% of SR compared to racing means I don't really bother with this. I think it can be useful as a rookie for a very short time to push you over the hump into class D but after that I'm not sure it's worth it at all. Nice video. Subbed.
I agree.. I'm new to iracing and got my level C Road, 3.34 safety, and I saw the end of this time trial to get ".03" safety - if you finish an Mx-5 road race clean you'll get way more than that and at least become a better racer for the experience too. I think I've seen after 1 race a max of .43 SR + with 0 incidents
Totally I do not do this. I practice on my own, get the hang of it then I enter races and I drive the best I can given my lap times compared to the field. Run the race and just give any positions to the cars that are clearly faster than you. This way you get race participation credits, safety rating, irating, and you learn how the races play out and how the track evolves.
@regibson23 lol , I thought is was implied but I'll clarify - If you don't trust yourself in a race to get SR - if you only need 0.03 SR - If you want to do practice but add a little bit of risk to reward spice - Trying to practice consistency and race pace with race limits ... There's a alot of reasons why someone would do this.
If you are in rookies and trying to get 3 SR just don’t race stay on track and let people pass. That’s why you don’t have irating yet. After rookies you have to know how to stay on track and race because you have both ratings now.
@@JACKZERYT i think it depends on the track and how many corners you do, at zolder i get around .04 per 30 minutes, i guess its a wash depending how much time you spend. Sorry i didnt respond sooner i never got a notification
In general yes. But no, like Corners per minute is a factor I believe, but if you drive 2 or 3 seconds a lap slower to not risk a 1x, the much better risk to reward. As long as you don't slip into balls to the wall quali mode by accident, cus the a. 1x will come, just drive, don't race if you catch my drift
@frafzn6745 well its a way to practice/and get SR at the same time, whilst practicing with "risk" similar to a race, so you don't make any bad habits abusing the track limits like in practice going for a hotlap
Hey mate, hope you've had a good weekend?! I wonder whether doing this on the Nords would be a good way of bagging some good SR, if you know you can get round it a few times relatively safely?
@@JACKZERYT Hell yeah!! I'll give it a go this week for sure! I'll give you a shout on this video once I've ran some and let you know what kind of numbers can be expected! =D Cheers bud! \m/
@vikingwar-beargaming8843 Kinda tried this. Did about 1.5 laps before getting 1x. I quit and got +0.02. Gonna try again soon. With that said, never driven this car and I suck at Nords.😂
@asian195 Bahaha! The Nords is a different beast bro! You'll get the hang of it in time, I'm waiting until the car switch on Tuesday night so I can test in the MX5, as I don't own the current car it's running aha xD Just been practicing in test drive with that combo and I'm laying down 8:16's, so I might even brave a couple of officials! racing to farm SR brought me alot of irating , but not SR . i start from the back allways end up top 10 , allways. yet i lose SR at about 6-7 incident points, and one fucking touch from one fucking ***** gives me 4 incident points. what a stupid system realy.

After you do 5 laps you can stay in just keep runnning laps you do have to keep in mind that each track has a different amount of laps
I've been wondering how to up my safety rating without slogging through Class D and Rookie events and messing up, thank you.
This can earn great SR while in the lower classes!
Just don't mess up
Sounds hard but just drive half gas or drive and chill and keep the car on track thats it!
i usually just drive the whole 20-30 laps whatever it ends up being and take the full gain on SR
What kind of gain did you get do you remember?
What was your current SR? and the Car/track combo? Thanks

Great tip! Does it have to be the current week’s races and tracks or can it be previous week’s tracks and races?
Current.
Question, do you need a good lap time or just incident free laps to get a decent SR?

I think you will gain more SR by just joining a race in the Ring Meister series. Just start from the pits and stay out of trouble.
How often can you participate in this way to earn SR?
@@ChrisRockyBS as much as you want
Great video. No wonder I wasn’t getting any SR, I was doing time attack 😂
That'd be that alright lol
did 20 laps and went up .54 thanks for this!
can i do this repeatly until i get 3 sr?
Yes, it will take a bit, but yes.
It’s the fact people can purposely wreck you and you get penalized for it I’m just tryin to get out of class d
