I am convinced "the jedi are wrong" is a pretty consistent plot point in star wars, though it's rarely tackled directly.
(SPOILERS FOR PREQUELS? Do I need this?)
The prequels are literally about Anakin falling to the dark side because whenever he forms attachments and talks to other jedi about it they just tell him "let go bro, like chill." and it's incredibly patronising. They list off dogma rather than actually *teaching* their ways.

The difference in luke killing vader vs killing stormtroopers is that the stormtroopers are enemy soldiers trying to kill him.
However, killing vader would've been killing an unarmed cripple out of anger and bloodlust.
Two very different circumstances, only the latter counts as dark side stuff.

Darth Vader needed the suit to live (you will understand it more with the prequels), and without the suit only his rage and anger could keep him alive. When he came back to the light, with the suit circuits broken by dark force lightnings, there wasn´t chance to survive.

just a fun fact at the end when you guys were asking why luke couldnt kill the emperor. its not because hes a good guy but that jedi cannot kill with anger running through them. Jedi mainly disarm to avoid killing but if they are essentially forced to in a form of self defense while also being able to maintain some semblance of calmness and lack of straight anger then they good to remove the threat.

Can you imagine how hilarious a rated-R version of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi would be?
You have the Rebellion and the Empire for three movies, killing each other with unnecessarily large explosions, and relatively humane insta-lethal laser burns that auto-cauterize so there's not a lot of blood or mess and nobody is really suffering or dying slowly, and then these cute teddy bears come in and start bashing in skulls with rocks and breaking bones with logs and shit... and pretty much nothing about the movie itself is changed except the war ends and everybody's celebrating and all of the adorable Ewoks are standing around covered in blood like Mel Gibson in The Patriot.

I think that Boba Fett is popular because of 5th episode, cos itvwas like two years between Empire and Return if the Jedi, and all thus time Boba Fett wasba mysterious faceless cold badass hunter who was smart enough to see through Han's escape trick. Enough time to build a legend around a character. Also, fun fact, his helmet is one of the earlier drafts of Vader's helmet

The thing about the CGI in the original trilogy, there wasn't any. Fans in the comments aren't talking about remasters and touch-ups, George Lucus had a bad habit of awkwardly inputting special effects into his old movies as soon as the technology became available, not to mention other alterations, like Han originally shooting Greedo, who didn't fire at all, or adding Young Anakin from the Pre-quel Trilogy at the end. In the first movie those CG monsters and aliens were just props and puppets like everything else, but George thought eyesore CG made his movies more 'perfect', it's damn near impossible to find the originals anymore.

Great reaction! I hope you'll not only do the "Prequel Trilogy", but will follow them up with animated shows Clone Wars (in chronological order is my suggestion) and Rebels. In my opinion (others may vary), the Prequels tell a great story, but the execution is where they fall a bit short of the originals. After a slow start (season 1), Clone Wars (an Rebels) offers some of the absolute best Star Wars content there is - and some stellar storytelling in general. I'd be here for every single one.

THEY DIDN'T MAKE OUT! THAT'S NOT WHAT THAT KISS WAS! I actually had hope that you wouldn't fall into the same trap everyone else does because you called it in the moment. She did that just to stick it to Han. Also, Luke and Leia felt a connection to each other but didn't know what it was. Once Luke explained that they're siblings, she finally understood, which is why she said "somehow I've always known." She wasn't being literal there, she meant that the thing between them finally made sense to her. Remember, she's a Skywalker too. She, too, is strong in the force, which is yet another thing she couldn't have known about herself. And Luke never really had a crush on Leia. He thought she was beautiful and bristled at the idea of her being with Han in the first movie, but that screams "big brother energy" to me. He never wanted to be with her, but still felt connected to her in a way he couldn't explain. Anyway, I'm sticking around for the prequel reactions for sure. I just hope it doesn't turn into another roast. Also, put the toys away, they're distracting you and you're missing stuff.

Heads up... this is a TLDR post... but its for @SortaStupid and my opinion only... but differing intelligent opinions of SW (not of me, you dont know me) encouraged...
I actually did NOT know they updated the cgi twice more.
I only knew about the 1997 20th Anniversary re-release Special Edition update that I'm assuming the other updates were based on...because they look the same to me when i watch it on D+.
Frankly though I'll always be partial to the original pre-cgi versions. If something is good then dont eff with it.
The PREQUELS were crapped on but actually were okay... the problem with them was that they told a very wooden story with very wooden dialog and tried to inject humor in places that didnt make any sense (at least to me).
The story itself is necessary but as dry as a C-Span report. And the dialog was imo unbelievable. And the fan service easter egg origin bits were so horribly misplaced.... there for the sake of being there not because it made sense for it to be there (1 particular individual for certain). Very fan fiction by an unimaginative writer kind of feel... and we know Lucas is better than that.
But after some time the Prequels at least make sense and the underlying story of WHY things turned out the way they did... it was simultaneously in your face and subtle... nobody outright calls it for what it is, and we were so used to a space ADVENTURE... the Prequels were a different tone altogether.
But i feel Lucas relied too heavily on the cgi to wow the audience and made the nuances of the story roo sybtle and hidden under incomprehensible dialog. It made very skilled actors seem dull and that was its biggest sin imo.
The SEQUELS relied on a proper mix of cgi and practical effects... but the story changed direction so often for no discernable reason that it just left us confused why we wasted the ticket money. There was so much filler and SO much wasted potential on character arcs that were hinted at but never happened... so much of 1 writer cancelling out the previous writer and vice versa... heros who were never built up to be such in the way Luke and Han were...and then culminated in 2 ultimate sins of lazy storytelling.
It was a fine fun spectacle if you disenage your brain (after taking 2 decades to learn to be more discerning and scholary in rewatching the prequels). The Sequels felt like a giant F YOU from Disney after taking over the IP. But it left us wanting. Solo was more of the same. The streaming series started out fine with Mandalorian season 1 but then devolved into more of the same... i dunno what the F they were trying to accomplishbl in the Obi-Wan series. And (imo) the MUCH hoped for Ahsoka series just didnt deliver either, despite Rosario Dawson and Lars Mikkelsen being in it (Lars at least to me FELT like the Thrawn from the Timothy Zahn books... which is the best Thrawn imo).
The only post Prequels movie that had a lick of intelligent storytelling was Rogue One... and fans were mixed on the spin off series Andor (season 1)... i personally LOVED the new POV in the Star Wars realm... some felt it just wasnt Star Wars without Force-and-Lightasbers... like watching a Fairy Tale with no magic elves in it.
So yeah... we collectively say we're done but we're like a gambler on a losing streak.

His mask is damaged and the breathing doesn't sound right after getting blasted by the Emperor's lightning but, just before Luke takes off the front of the mask to see his father's face, you can hear the normal sound of Vader's breathing as he takes a breath in, but the mask is fully removed before he lets it out.

There was ONE sign that Leia was something special. And ONLY one.
When Luke was hanging by his one remaining hand from the bottom of the Cloud City on Bespin, he reached out to Ben with the Force and heard nothing. He reached out to Yoda with the Force and heard nothing. And he finally reached out to Leia with the Force, and Leia heard & answered him.
It is the ONLY plot point where Leia betrayed Force sensitivity, and a connection with her Twin.

    • @ShiningDarknes
      @ShiningDarknes 3 месяца назад +1

Eh, more like he asked two dead people then a live person. Due to him not trying other live people that is hardly a sign. Han never would have answered due to the carbonite and we have no way of knowing if Chewy would have been able to pick it up.
You have to remember at the time the entire idea of "force sensitivity" didn't exist yet so the answer to the question "was there any indication in the previous movies" is a resounding no. Now you can use meta knowledge people that have no exposure to Star Wars don't have but if the only exposure you have is memes and the first two original movies, there is no logical connection.

I love the rancor trainer in Jabba's palace. His name is Malakili, and he was a slave in charge of taking care of Jabba's creatures, and regularly treated the rancors wounds after it was made to kill Jabba's enemies. They grew close and fond of one another until one day, the rancor (named Pateesa) saved Malakili's life from a Tusken Raider attack. After that, Malakili decided he would escape Jabba's palace and bring Pateesa with him.
Then the events of this movie happened, Pateesa was killed by Luke and Malakili was left empty and purposeless. Eventually he left the abandoned palace to go to the Saarlac Pit, where he decided he would either tame it or, if he failed, throw himself into it. Unfortunately, after the battle, Jawa's had dug up the sand around the Saarlac and slit its stomach open, scavenging weapons and equipment. Upon seeing the poor creature, unable to defend itself and unable to eat, without a purpose, he wept.
After wandering a while, he found new friends. Settled down, began working as a teacher for a baby Hutt and opened a restaurant with the old head chef from Jabba's palace. I'm glad he got a happy ending, still heartbroken about Pateesa. Never Forget.
