    I came here to find the explanation/derivation for

      My view:.
      Both hands should coincide at (65 and 5/11) mins bt it coincides at 64 mins.
      it imply , the clock is running fast by (1 and 5/11)mins {meaning 16/11mins. After taking the whole(1) and proportion(5/11) together}.
      So
      1. There is a loss of 16/11 minutes after every 64 mins.
      2. In 24 hrs there are 24*60 mins.
      3. Divide 24*60 by 64 (24*60/64) to find the number of times
      4. Multiple the answer obtained in sl.no 3 by sl.no 1{ie .( 24*60/64) *16/11}
      The value obtained (after solving sl.no 4) is the answer..
