  • If you have done a lift without an adjustable trackbar, you might need to get one. In this video we talk about what a trackbar does, why you might need a longer one, and what it takes to install one on the Jeep JL using the Metalcloak adjustable trackbar.

    So I'd just like to say thank you! Because of this video it prevented me from selling my Jeep all together. I bought a 2020 Jeep brand new Gladiator Sport in March of 2020. First thing I did was put 35s and the Mopar 2 in" lift. The second I drove it home I felt the ride quality disintegrated but was too stubborn to admit it felt worse thinking... 'I just took it to Jeep, they know what they are doing this is great...' It was great, It looked so much better with new wheels and tires and lift. Well... two years later it was starting to wear on me. I went to the Jeep dealership a few weeks ago and test drove a new Gladiator Mojave because I needed to know what one felt like without a lift. It was hands down so much better. I felt terrible, did I ruin a brand new Jeep by lifting it? They say "it rides like a Jeep" I should just deal with it... I went to a Jeep off-raod shop and they educated me that the Mopar lift is incomplete. It doesn't come with adjustable control arms or a adjustable track arm. It took me a few youtube videos to understand what suspension geometry is and what this lift did to my vehicle. I can 100% confirm adding these fixed my ride quality issues. Thank you again, Im so excited to have a truck I'm not terrified to drive on the highway now lol...

    Thanks for the great video and details. Glad to hear about the Rancho issues as I was considering it, looks like Metalcloak is a clear winner there!

    Best explanation I heard.... I had already installed the Metalcloak HD steering system and have the teraflex 3 inch lift kit that has the front adjustable track bar but never updated the rear track bar, you are correct in all of your statements, I also have the .5 inch tire sicking out in the front tires just to get a "proper" or "acceptable" alignment, the issue is that if you have a front adjustable track bar but not the rear the adjustable the alignment will not 100 percent accurate, I am was a Teraflex guy but these Metalcloak parts are super nice and the Chromoly is a plus in my opinion they are also reasonably priced which is not something I can say about Tera, both companies have great customer service, I was not a fan of their gold plated finish but I have to say, once I installed the HD steering system the look grew on me, love seeing those parts as I approach the Jeep parked :).

    Not only an adjustable track bar... but adjustable track "bars" for both front and rear or else you end with an "askew" situation. Don't skimp. Get the "adjustable" upper and lower control arms as well. This gets your Jeep angles back to lifted specs and feeling good.

    I also installed the 2.5 Mopar lift. The only issue I have noticed is at highway speed hitting a bump. The steering wheel gives a quick shimmy, worse in a turn or curve. I’m currently looking at the metal cloak over Clayton because of price

    Hi we only have teraflex , tough dog, hard race track bars over here in Australia. They say Right hand drive compatibility. Our track bar is mounted on the opposite side over here in Australia. So we limited to which brand we can use.

    I’ve had my Jeep since 2004. I had the drums and calpers replaced four years ago. They told me my shocks were failing/ leaking. They were Pro Comp 3000 installed with a 3.5” lift in 2006. I decided to do myself and bought Pro Comp 9000. Everything went out of wack. I am now relaxing everything. Digh😊

    I have recently seen that you were not pleased with the MOPAR Lift. Was that due to your Rancho adjustable trackbars at the end ? Mopar Lift + good quality adjustable trackbars (front + rear) is better now ?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  3 года назад +2

      Its because it is an incomplete lift. You still need adjustable track bars and control arms for proper geometry and the Fox 2 shocks are pretty mediocre. In hindsight, I should have just gone with a Metalcloack and decent shocks and been done. Cry Once, Buy Once.
