Will the reverse camera work with this unit?
I was wording could i use a usb splitter to have android and apple come directly through the usb outlet at the bottom of the stereo so i could connect either or without having to connect another separate outlet like you guys did in the glove box
No need just use the Grey USB as this does both Apple CarPlay & Android Auto :D make this the main one for access in the primary location.
Would this fit alright in my 07 Forester? I know obviously its a wider screen (Which is why i like it) and I'm happy for it to sit outside of the standard radio cutout as long as it looks alright, I just cant find any images of the side of the unit to see if the screen would sit alright, would it look more like a tablet stuck to the dash or is there a plate behind the screen that would make it look dumb? I Should mention too that my radio surround is the double din with the radio centred and without the pop-out Cup holder next to it.

Yes should do as the unit outputs 2amp which is enough for iPad. I am not 100% sure the factory USB location will allow that much current but the Kenwood usb do support it.

You can replace your factory radio but you need to use the DDX9017DABS not this unit.

Do you know if this will fit the Toyota Innova Crysta? Since its mentioned as a Toyota specific unit. Good to know the reverse cam will work while the device is boot.
From the video there looks to be refections, is the screen clear in bright sunlight?
Also there seems to be some screen lags, any long term usage feedback?

No it will be mirroring what ever is off your phone including sound.
This is equivalent of uk DDX 9717 ? this model work ok in uk ? (radio station)

Audio output for the sound will be the same but the Kenwood has more adjustability in EQ settings and time alignment.
Audio quality would be about the same. The Kenwood has more EQ features. The Alpine does have wireless CarPlay though.

Its not released in UK market only Asia Pacific regions.

Have you tested with an apple and Waze from the Apple? Kenwood said it was for android only
Waze works for android auto only at the moment Apple have not approved waze for CarPlay but you could wireless mirror it.
Waze works with Android at moment or wireless mirroring for apple.

Yes I believe it would but, you would not get Sirius Radio and the DVD is different region code.

just bought this unit, sounds fantastic, love the seamless look. Just that Air Mirroring doesnt work on OS11!! but it work great on OS10 though. Any solution for this, do I have to wait for firmware update from kenwood or was it a Apple OS fault??
They are working on a patch update for iOS11

No news as this feature was never officially supported by apple but it will be done in time...

It varies too much perfect depending on setup with speakers amps etc so we cannot. We may do one describing the features.

No the 717 loses CarPlay, android auto, WiFi, gestures, more basic display.

Improves the GPS navigation for android auto and apple CarPlay its a requirement stipulated by Apple.

Yes if you are using Android Auto it will use the Google maps off your phone.

great unit, but overpriced $1100!!
Get a lot of features for that money, nothing comes near it on the market, you get cheap models that are slow and buggy this one is rock solid.
