Both curries looked delicious and appetising. I’m glad you’re reviewing some restaurants with character. Makes a welcome change from limp burgers and soggy chips. This episode actually made me hungry.
I went to Tamatanga on your recommendation after the last one and it was amazing! Can’t wait to go again and fortunately will be near one again soon in a couple of weeks , woohoo!
Impossible to choose between them as totally different cuisines. Love a Lamb Rogan Josh and the meal you had looked excellent but there was a fusion thing going on with the presentation , prefer my Indian more traditional. Turtle Bay and that Jamaican goat curry though really had me salivating as my go to fave whenever I visit and worth the extra couple of quid. Jamaican's love colour and flavour , combine this with a better presentation if I was pushed to choose between them the goat curry wins 😁 Great reviews fella 👍
Oh gosh those curries looked amazing. I really liked the look of the Jamaican curry, the goat meat looked so soft and tender. I really would love this. Wish we had access to more multi cultural food here in the country 😮
Part of the dining out experience for me is the actual venue both of which in this review were lovely! I love a good curry this one in tamatanga was well presented, with a good proportion of lamb which looked tender & nice portion of rice the mango drink looked refreshing too! I've never tried goat curry but this looked nice & although I don't mind spicy I think this one may have been too much for me. Plenty of refreshing lemonade to drink with this, so for me tamatanga is the winner! Thank you for this great review, take care 💜
I love both Indian & Jamacan curries , Jamacan just pips it with goat tho . It may be the Scotch bonnet chillies , I always order steamed veg to go with it . Those naan breads are a great accompanyment too , I love them both & couldnt choose between . A
Hello, EIE I loved the look of the Rogan Josh. It had quite a rustic look. The rice was colorful, and the salad was an extra touch. It just looked lush. Great video, 😊and thanks for sharing 😊😊
They both looked great though I'd probably have given the nod to the Indian curry as well. Though, to be honest, I kind of wish I hadn't watched this video today. It made me super hungry for Indian food and I just got two teeth pulled so I'm on a soup only meal plan for the next day!
Totally going off topic here but I noticed Wingstop is opening in Leeds city centre soon... I hope you will try (when it opens) and give us a honest review of their iconic chicken wings!! 🙏
Hi from Super Rainy and Super Flooded Los Angeles 🙋♀️ We're currently under a flood warning until midnight. 😱 (working our way through 6 days of rain). I don't like curry of any sort. But if I did, Tamatanga gets my vote, that curry just looked more flavourful. Plus, I love a good mango lassi!
Initially I would have said the Caribbean would have been my preferred choice as the Indian looked a bit oily to me. I don't know if the Caribbean would have been a tad to hot for me. So I'm undecided but they both looked tasty.
Myself and my son enjoy watching your videos and have a chuckle at your combo bites! A question: how long between your comparison meals? I assume you don't go immediately from one to the other??
At the East Indian restaurant you need to order the lighter colored curry that is made with yogurt and has a light orange color, for example, Butter Chicken. The Caribbean countries with East Indian citizens, Trinidad and Guyana, who came after slavery, do not use yogurt in their curries and they are always a dark brown color. Jamaican curry is made slightly different from the Trinidadian and Guyanese curries. I am from the Caribbean but you can Goggle Caribbean people cooking their curries on You Tube. I like both the Indian curry from India and the curry from Indians who came to the Caribbean and Guyana to work on the sugar plantations. Curry tastes better when it is served with white rice, regular long grain white rice or Basmati rice.
I would go for the Indian as Lamb is my favourite meat, and the spices were milder. I have eaten goat before, and it's tasty, but I don't enjoy very hot spice and chillis raw on the plate like that. Though I love rice & peas. To be honest, when your plate arrived I thought it was pink fuchsia flowers on top! 😅 Then you said pickled cabbage! 😮😂
Uh no bread choice with the Indian curry? Should have for that price. A bit of nan or roti. The Caribbean needs some sweet plantain. Both look yummy but I agree the Indian looks better.
Hard to judge. In both cases the food probably arrives at the restaurant in a van from a central factory, each portion heat sealed in plastic to be microwaved to order. Rice will be same as those 69p 250g bags of microwaveable rice you get at Aldi. I’d stick with a ready-meal curry from M&S for a quarter the price, or if you really need to go out, a Thursday Curry Club at a ‘Spoons for around £10 including a 5.4% ABV pint of Brewdog Punk.
Indian curries usually don't use thyme instead they use coriander. They tend to go heavy on various spices inc curry powder. Caribbean curries tend not to be heavy on multiple spices but use a good quality curry powder. Caribbean curries use both coriander, thyme and scallion. Scotch bonnet isn't exclusive to Caribbean its also used perhaps not as much in the indian sub continent. They tend to use finger chillies, birds eye chillies and naga. For me indian curries are better tasting. Caribbean cuisine is heavily influenced by the indian sub continent and this isnt the other way around. This is not to say that caribbean dishes aren't delicious because they are.
The uk people are more a custom to Indian food its like in the usa they are more a custom to Mexica food Mexican food they have tried to Push it in the uk but most people don't like it its not very common - Jamaican food is very uncommon in the uk outside of a few communities, the most popular food in the UK is India British Chinese food and Italian food ie pizza and different pasta dishs ,
The first place you went on this comparison. I had to stop watching! All that oil in the curry! You're a young man, I would, as an old man say, google vegetable oil and heart health. You might well be surprised.... I cook many curries, at least twice a week, and you can replace all these seed oils with Ghee. How the Indians do it. Live healthier my friend!
Which one did you prefer?
Comment Below 😀
The Indian one for me
Comparing apples with oranges there 😂 I love both.
I was just about to say the same thing when I saw your comment! lol
Sometimes you can have a "Draw" Both are delicious.🌹👍
Both curries looked delicious and appetising. I’m glad you’re reviewing some restaurants with character. Makes a welcome change from limp burgers and soggy chips. This episode actually made me hungry.
As an Indian I love both. Chicken balti vs curry goat. If you fancy infusions of both in one you have to try trindad cuisine...its da BOMB !!!
I will have to find a place
You're blessed to have such marvelous restaurants like that available!
two different curry's so its a hard call my friend i like both
I like both too
so how can you call it
I went to Tamatanga on your recommendation after the last one and it was amazing! Can’t wait to go again and fortunately will be near one again soon in a couple of weeks , woohoo!
Its a great place
That first meal looked to be really high quality & delicious, mango drink looked excellent also.
It was!
Both currys looked good but that Indian one looked banging!!
The presentation was great!
Impossible to choose between them as totally different cuisines.

Thanks for watching
Oh gosh those curries looked amazing. I really liked the look of the Jamaican curry, the goat meat looked so soft and tender. I really would love this. Wish we had access to more multi cultural food here in the country 😮
The goat meat was surprisingly very soft
I do luve curried goat with hard food and plantain. Perhaps add a Gunness cocktail.

❤as I’m part Jamaican I go with the curried Goat, rice & peas❤
Watching from Perth, Western Australia 🦘🇯🇲🦘
I would love to visit Australia sometime ✈️
I like both, spicier the better. 😀
The curry goat was super spicy!
I had Curry Goat years ago. I enjoyed it. I reckon I would choose that again, however both meals looked delicious.
They're both great meals!
Both curries looked amazing but I’d go for the Caribbean one as I love heat and not too much of an oily sauce 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The Caribbean one was spicy for sure!
both dishes were very well presented, i would have to go with tamatanga.
They both looked nice fair play great content as usual.
Much appreciated
Interesting video. Most Asian countries have curries. Vietnamese curries are sweet and usually contain sweet potatoes. Japan has curries as well.
Yes, you are right
I thought both plates looked amazing 10/10
However, I think the Turtle Bay portion control was a little bit stingy.
So 9/10
i thought the same with turtle, really nice food but light portions.
It could have been a bigger portion
Hello, EIE
I loved the look of the Rogan Josh. It had quite a rustic look. The rice was colorful, and the salad was an extra touch. It just looked lush. Great video, 😊and thanks for sharing 😊😊
Thanks so much!

I'd prefer the Indian too , always . Love a good spicy Indian curry .
Same here, but not too spicy lol
Totally going off topic here but I noticed Wingstop is opening in Leeds city centre soon...

I'll have to check it out when it opens!

How can you not like curry! Blasphemy!
@@rundattmedia2106 i just don't like it. But that means more for you to enjoy!
Initially I would have said the Caribbean would have been my preferred choice as the Indian looked a bit oily to me. I don't know if the Caribbean would have been a tad to hot for me. So I'm undecided but they both looked tasty.
The Caribbean one was really spicy so you gotta love spice to have that one
Indian by far, looked great, better value
Its a good deal!
I would prefer the Indian curry because the amount if chilli's on the Caribbean curry was too much.
It was almost too much for me too
Nice Curry's , I think the carribean rice looked / tasted better
Indian Curry 🔥
Me too!
For me, it’s a tiebreaker, they both look absolutely delicious,
😂
Its a close one for sure
@@everydayimeating3407 yep !
Yeah both looked nice but although I like a little spice the carabian one see too spicy for me. I’ll choose the Indian curry. 👍
The Caribbean one was very spicy
Love Scotch Bonnets so Caribbean for me
Its was really spicy!
Myself and my son enjoy watching your videos and have a chuckle at your combo bites!
A question: how long between your comparison meals? I assume you don't go immediately from one to the other??
It depends on the meal, sometimes I eat them 1 after the other or might leave it until the next day
Was that Turtle Bay in Leeds?
Both curry's look very good, always would go with indian myself though, Great vid 👍
Yes it was!

Butter chicken is not a curry, chicken curry is a dish
Got to say they both looked really tasty probably go with the Indian but a close call.

I think I'd go with the Indian curry but that goat looked delicious...this is too hard to choose so give me both lol
I would happily take both too 😋
Take a shot every time this guy says - "Errr-mazing" 😂
You must be drunk by now!
Indian curry all day long... My gf makes the best homemade spicy curry in the world 😋 hope you're good mate.
Indian curry for me too! I'm good thanks, hope you are too 😀
@@everydayimeating3407 I'm all good mate thanks
The first one for me but......its hard to compare two different curries which these were.
Uh no bread choice with the Indian curry? Should have for that price. A bit of nan or roti. The Caribbean needs some sweet plantain. Both look yummy but I agree the Indian looks better.
You could get all the extras at both places, but it does cost extra money

Its just took it for me
Errr Turtle Bay is NOT Caribbean Curry?
they both look nice but id choose the Indian but with some chapatis
I prefer the curry goat nicer presentation

Indian food is the best in the world. By a long way.
try Nepali food
I will need to find some!
Turtle Bay is not authentic Caribbean food, as the owners are not even from the Caribbean.
Caribbean curry all the way.
Its a good curry
Indian all day long nobody can come close Caribbean curry not even close
Good grief, the amount of oil in that first Curry! Oil is so bad for you. You can make any curry without using oil, and you should!
While talking about Indian curry’s please call it as gravy and not sauce… 🙂
The first place you went on this comparison. I had to stop watching! All that oil in the curry! You're a young man, I would, as an old man say, google vegetable oil and heart health. The best Indian curry is always cooked by Bangladesh chefs
