It’s not much worse when stock, they claim it’s 4,2s but I have no equipment to actually check it with mine.
In my opinion it's not even an SUV. It is almost the same size as the mazda 3 hatchback. 70mm taller, 45mm wider and 15mm shorter. I have both so I have a direct comparison 🙂
well yeah I know for sure that is isn't really an SUV but what it's more like, a mid size SUV? or does it count as even smaller? have sat in one but I don't have experience with other SUV's so I doesn't really have a clue about this@karolmaek8596
That ain't no cupra, it's Audi throughout, the entire car is Audi /VW badge on all parts...so it's a bargain.

Ukoliko je gugl tacan, Formentor ima oko 1608 kg dok je RSQ3 tezak preko 1700 kg.. rekao bih da je to ta razlika koju pominjes.
The VZ5 has a different DSG setup, is lighter and also has the torque vectoring. The RSQ3 has older mechanics.

The cold weather isn"t that much of a"problem because cold air makes a bigger explotion than warm/hot air.So theoreticly you should get a better time in winter with that dry condition.I think your tires could be a problem.

I have an rs3 hatch 2023 stock with 7500 km....and i have around 9,5 sec 100-200 made in december 2023 on highway !; so A cupra fomentor with 450 hp is like an audi rs3 stock
Yes, this is due to higher drag resistance / aerodynamics. It's a perfect example how aero works =). That's why the RS3 will also always have better fuel economy.
with this comparison we can see how amazing this car is, a SUV with a lot of place inside and can do the same numbers that a hatchback with the same motor... crazy
That means you can have same performance (with ABT tuning) for cheaper price.
True that. I got a stock VZ5, always liked the RS3 but the Audi does not have one thing the Formentor has: space. Cupra is not a big car but once you get inside, especially on the back seats, you are surprised by the amount of leg room it has.

I own a T Roc and did a swap with that 5cylinder also a little tune up and it makes around 510Hp
I also added a 8 speed torque converter from a s5 including the Quattro. Porsche brakes and Center lock wheels also got 4 etron seats including a 80L tank so I can make 1000km per full tank I enjoy it everyday…
Cost me around 85k and I love it!
Makes easy 300kmh on autobahn
And it’s fun…
My kids love it aswell!

The paint work is not finished and I need to wrap most of the interior in alcantara since the quality is horrendous😂

Pretty impressive numbers and hardcore sound! mid 9´s are M5 E60 level and for a small SUV quite fast....
this is a nice A45 amg and RS3 competitor. No suv in the world got less than 7 inches ground clearance. This is an hatch

It is a common information, that the sales numbers of this type are not as good as estimated. They have to push it with some marketing inspired special editions. This is sad, this car is underestimated. In a few years, with all the much stronger reglementations, we might regret this ignorance!?

The only fast vz5 i saw so far is the one tuned by HGP on a stage 2 now that was a monster running a 100 to 200 in mid 7's with 520 ps

Das ist oft auch mein Gedanke. Momentan Cupra 300. Oft denke ich, irgendwie würde ich gerne auf RS oder ähnliches in dieser Klasse upgraden aber dann kommt schnell die Vernunft und fragt WARUM? WOFÜR? Bin doch so schon bestens im Alltag motorisiert. Rennstrecke fahre ich nicht. Von daher....🤷
Einzig vielleicht die Emotionen bei einem 5 Zylinder. Aber als Statussymbol brauche ich sowas nicht.

my cupra formentor VZ, orginally 310hp, after stage 1+ intercoosler (cost only about 1500-2000EUR) gains 420hp+ and do 100-200kmh at similar time 9.5-10.0s. Maybe is not better that ABT veresion, but better than stock VZ5.
Why do people keep comparing tuned to stock cars!? Besides this has the 2.5L 5cyl
@@DnBDubstepManiak1good question and I don't know the answer. Through this entry, I just wanted to inform, that the 2.0TSI EA888 EVO 4 is a unit with great tuning potential. Only changing the software gives a power gain about 100 HP, 30% compared to the stock. Here, ABT did 15% 60HP gain at EA855 engine. VZ5 costs 25-30kEUR more.

I thought colder weather meant better performance? Or do you mean that extremely cold weather is bad and chilly weather is optimal.
Cooler air is good for engine power but usually bad for everything else😉 more wind resistance, winter tires, less grip on tarmac etc. So I would say 10-20 degrees Celsius is probably ideal….ceteris paribus.

I do love Cupras, but their naming convention is fucking terrible. I always thought the Leon VZ3 was the same engine as the GTI Clubsport, but they also have a 1.4 hybrid. You can get the VZ2 with 300bhp, but only FWD. The AWD one is estate only.
Here lm Germany the naming is quite neat. There are four VZ models named as following:
- VZ e-hybrid (245 hp hybrid)
- VZ245 (245 hp GTI engine)
- VZ310 (310 hp Golf R engine)
- VZ5 (RS3 engine)
Talking about the Leon there’s also the VZ300, which only has fwd.
So it’s quite easy to distinguish the different models by naming
