My rattlesnake story is from Arizona or Utah, we stopped somewhere, I don't remember, but we heard a ratttlesnake in a bush in the dessert. I wanted to see it so I threw rocks at it. Kids thought I was crazy trying to scare a rattlesnake out of hiding!
But closer to home, I live in a National Park and we have copperheads and copperheads in my yard all the time.
I finally bought a snake grabber and bucket to out one in, and I capture them and take them down to the creek far away from the house.
Whenever I hike the trails out back, we are always on the lookout for snakes. We've only had a bear once (that we know of) on our deck. Gotta love wildlife, the pluses and the minuses.

Beautiful! Love how it follows the river! 4 miles is a big hike. Always make sure you have your water bottles with you & maybe a little snack to refresh you. That's the Mom in me talking! And dress down! Cotton shirts will absorb the sweat! Sorry! My two cents!

Beautiful views. Have you guys ever used trekking poles? They make trail walking so much easier! Especially on rocky and uneven ground!
Can't imagine what the falls and trail looks like when the Rhododendrons are blooming... The rattlesnakes will birth below rocky outcrops in the terrain and sometimes seen in wood debris piles. Glad you didn't see any.

This rocky river (minus swimming holes) reminds me a lot of the Jones Gap State Park in S.C. If you visit the park, then check out Caesars Head State Park and the breathtaking "Pretty Place" Chapel.

It was good to see you return to your roots. Love your hiking videos. I think you should do a rafting trip. My daughter is a raft guide on the Chattooga River she would love to take you down that river.
The Chatooga River was where the 4 star movie with Burt Reynold, Deliverance was filmed.

Bestill my heart with all of GOD's beautiful creation! The yellow flower was jewel weed. It's a creek loving flower. Sometimes orange in color. Medicinal too. Great for poison ivy or itchy rashes. I often think Redbubble would be a good place for Will's photos. I buy quite a lot of stuff on there for myself and for gifts, besides post cards and greetings cards, and am always looking out for scenes such as Will photographs.

We were in the Smokys last week hiking and the humidity was horrible. Your clothes just stuck to you.
A few years ago when my family and I went WWR, I about had a panic attack on bus. The life vest was so tight and the seats on the bus were so close and I felt like I couldn't breathe. Ugh. I had to undo my life vest. They make you put them on before getting on the bus. The place we went to in Bryson City anyway.

I see no water or Gatorade with you on trail. You need to wear a cooling gaiter too and prepare for the heat and humidity.
I need to use a refillable water bottle myself. Good reminder
Better to raft with contacts than glasses. People have lost glasses, cameras, coolers, wallets. The companies have lockers. Wear cheap sunglasses and old sneakers or water shoes. The conpanies take down your id info, so you dont need your wallet. I wouldn't even take a disposable camera. Some things are better remembered than photographed. Rafting and tubing included.
Great advice, I invited some friends to visit once and we took a raft company ride in my area and we overturned in some rapids and a friend lost a very expensive recorder. Best left out of the raft.

When people ask me if the humidity in south Louisiana is as bad as they've heard, I say: "It depends" . They ask "On what?" I respond "On how good you are at breathing water!"!!! 🤣🤣 Think about how bad it would have been if the temperature's higher, and the humidity is higher, and there's no breeze!! It's like a wet wall. Thank you for doing a hiking video. I know it's not the most flavored and viewed, but I sure love them. 👍
I came to Gatlinburg in 1994 and my girls and I hiked to Laurel Falls. The fog came down into the forest on our way up and we felt like we were walking in the clouds. It was AEA break, and we wanted to visit Cades Cove, but we never had the chance due to flooding and trees down across the road. Little Pigeon came out of its banks and flooded the downtown area. It looked pretty scary!!😊 Hiking the AT is on my bucket list! I've got high hopes!😂
