  • How to Properly Service R1234yf A/C Systems:
This Dorman Lunch and Learn will cover all the components of the R1234yf air conditioning system along with step by step instructions of how to test, recover, evacuate, recharge and add oil/dye to the system. We will have a R1234yr machine connected to a vehicle and provide you with the dos and don’ts when performing system service and repair. At over $70.00 a pound you don’t want to guess but rather test and get the job don’t right the first time. Today’s vehicles are more involved so it’s important to use a proper diagnostic approach.
    Instructor: G Truglia

Yes! The video I didn’t know I was waiting for!
Maybe it’s not every model but the machine my dealer has took HOURS to recover the refrigerant..that may be any exaggeration Im not 100% sure I’m going off memory which is not the best in my case. It could’ve just taken 1 hour but the thing is I definitely remember it taking WAY longer than the R134 machine takes to do anything…and I would like to know why.. or at least from this video I would like to know “how to properly service it” lol

Get the cheap Amazon shit, start doing it yourself and make an LLC and sublet yourself for $350. Don’t do it for what ever pathetic hourly rate the insurance company is paying you

is it not going to hurt the compressor when you run the A/C with CO2 instead of refrigerant?

No not an issue using it...there are some systems in Europe that run CO@ ...We have been doing it for years in my shop to test the system for leaks and compressor operation. R134a has significantly bigger impact on greenhouse effects, so it has been banned for new cars. Also for the same reason, retrofitting R1234yf system to any other refrigerants is not legal.

@@adamjankowski4315 You were wondering why it's illegal, so I told you why it's illegal. I'm not saying R134a is bad. But for the same reason, a proper workshop won't retrofit your R1234yf system to R134a as they might be fined for doing so, and you are free to change to R134a at your own risk.
