Surprised you used zipang 1.0 since it’s about 5 years old now. They came out with 2.0 which pretty much made it able to sheet and bead like crazy. First version wasn’t as hydrophobic and for someone who mainly uses kamikaze it should be applied with miyabi as crazy as that sounds. Since it’s so expensive I chose to only install it one way and that with miyabi. The results are second to none when it comes to looks super expensive but worth it for the clients just looking for the best.
You should have hit it with a low ph soap before assuming there dead... it may have come straight back. A lot of testers are starting to find out... shocking the coatings causes flatness... appearing dead, but after a quick acidic wash or neutralize wash for example acidic chemical "kills" an alkalinity may revive the coating. Remember, coatings can etch, and do heal to some degree... they also expand and contract...
I mean personal preference of beading or sheathing doesnt mean anything and is not objective. The point of the ceramic is to keep the water from staying on the surface and the Amazon one looked like it did a way better job than the kamikaze.
I would say it's more for protecting paint from elements, rather than it keeping water off. Idc how long water sits on my coating... if it blows of when I hit 20mph, and the coating is not effected by water spotting, idc if it beads, or sheets...
I’d be really surprised if the kamikaze coating couldn’t have been brought back after the degreaser. Sometimes the high alkaline almost shocks the coating and either just a few washes with a ph neutral soap or an acidic cleaner will bring it back.
Well..that was different and pretty interesting, I've never seen that coating brand (not that I really pay attention to it on amazon), but I love how all amazon coatings have the same bottle, I mean its a bit suspicious... I wonder if other ones will behave the same 🤔anyway, quite surprised by the results, I was expecting way worst than that!! P.S. you need to get a scale model of a vintage bmw for the puppy.
Let's face it those of us who put in the time effort to perform a 2 step paint correction and all the prep that is required we are not going to spray any harsh chemicals on our cars no no what we do is maintenance wash and all the such what I'm getting at is the shine the brilliance in our paint that is what we are chasing to achieve and this $16 product wasn't so bad.
Most of the cheap ones aren't. There's a coating called nano bond, and i have seen it outlast many high dollar coatings, and I have it. I'll use it on some job I do for someone who wants a cheap coating. It's lasted over a year without proper maintenance and it's about 30$
I think it would have been better if you polished the whole bonnet in front of us all and then put a ceramic coat on both sides because if it wasn’t polished as well the ceramic coating would not have protected as much as the other side was protected if that makes sense 😮💨
Yea probably will find it there less than Amazon, I noticed they have Adamas coatings as well, I wonder if knock off, and I wonder why they target that brand vs others, which questions if in deed it is the real thing ??!!
Please stop the crappy loud music. Have to turn up the volume due to low voice volume then the crappy loud music repeatedly kicks in waking everyone up.
Babe wake up, Chromatic posted!! (I’m single)
😂😂😂
Killing it lord Chromatic.
Coatings aside, you do excellent camera / lighting work....terrific "B" roll as well as lens selection for cinematic drama....A+

Kamikaze coatings are not slick like GYEON or art deshine but they are amazing would recommend miyabi 2.0 or ism 3.0 for first time coating a car.
Couldn't agree more. Base miyabi, top Zipang. Makes a hell a difference to durability & performanc. I don't recommend one without the other
Been waiting for this since you posted that image on IG last week!

Also, prep on the paint is key. I'm sure that you decon and polished the panels prior to applying the coatings.
Mmm that Iron-x must of been smelling good inside that shop haha

does kamikaze coating on the same level with gyeon product?
100%!

Yep
What was the last song
you have 3 sections hood by manufacturer, you should put cheap left, expensive on right and left the middle untouched for comparesing
Shoutout from the uk 🇬🇧 bro it’s 00:06 am, drop a Porsche cayenne video soon please 🙏
That amazon coating bottle and box and even microfiber clothes for buffing off looked very suspiciously similar to avalon king amour sheild IX 😐
There's a reason for that.
I still think sheeting is better then beading, but beading is so cool 😭
Aahhh what did this poor hood do to you 😂
I wish people would do it probably. Do a half car of each and then make videos every month for two years cheers Graham
Typically, you would want to let the coating cure for 7 days before you wash them or test them. 🤔
E30 hood getting coating: 😌
Getting litterly set on fire: 🫠
Cool test & video! Didnt expect these outcomes :)

Very interesting stuff 👌 😎
I have a 100 year warranty on my ceramic coating

So no fire protection from this stuff?! 😂👍🏻

Kami is such a over priced and over rated product
couldn't agree more.
Amazon looks like just olephobic coating, not really ceramic coating
