I avoid Paul Washer like the plague because he crushed me just like he crushed that woman.
@cadtan well looks like God is resolving that God again has allowed him to have a serious heart issue so he can’t present a false gospel
I totally agree with you. Every time I listened to his teaching, I would be left feeling confused and unworthy. And then I remind myself that that is why Jesus died on the cross and shed His precious blood for me and for all sinners. There are false teacher who satisfy the itching ears of their vast congregations and only teach grace. We all know who they are. But Paul Washer seems to be on the opposite side of the spectrum. I don't think I have ever heard him teach an encouraging message of love, peace, joy, mercy, and grace. Most of his sermons seem to be a hissing, spitting message about how bad we all are and how if we think we are saved.... well, don't fool yourself. If you do THIS, you are not saved. If you don't do THAT, you are not saved. Wait a minute. Isn't that wandering dangerously close to a works based salvation? Our walk with God is not a sprint, where we are saved and are instantly perfect. It is a marathon of rocky roads, steep hills, and narrow paths. We will inevitably slip and fall along the way. But Jesus is there to help us to our feet again. At times, we become weary, and Jesus whispers soft words of encouragement to continue on a path of righteousness. Do we expect a baby to feed on a steak the minute it is born? Of course not. It feeds on milk and is gradually introduced to solid foods. It is the same with a Christian. We learn and grow as we journey with Christ. Sometimes, we learn hard lessons. Sometimes, God lovingly chides and disciplines us. The point is, we will never be perfect while in these sinful, decaying bodies. We will never be perfect while inhabiting this fallen sinful world. Yet somehow, Washer seems to teach that if we don't achieve perfection, we are not saved at all. I think that kind of Puritan, legalistic doctrine is as dangerous as the 'best life now, name it and claim it,' doctrine. Too much grace and mercy, without repentance, is dangerous. So is a doctrine that leaves out the teaching of hope, grace, and mercy.
Everyday the gospel
The gospel: freedom from the works of the law. Watchman Nee
The law requires man to work for God.
“If we work for God sin shall rule over us. The wages of our works is having sin rule over us. The wages of sin is death. The law condemns our works. But if God works for us. Sin shall not have dominion over us. Under law we work. Under grace God works. Whatever requires effort on our part is not victory. Victory comes freely to us.”
Do not try, but yield/die. Do not strain but rest.
Do not fancy to think you can change yourself to make you a little better. Even after 50 years you will still be the same. Victory/salvation/sanctification/glorification is Christ living in and for us.
“Thank God I cannot; but Christ can”.
Do not be afraid of men’s worst temper or greatest pride. Only be fearful that men do not see Christ’s ability. As well as their own inability.
It is good to thank God for the victory but also our weakness. For the power of Christ is made perfect in our weakness.
“I thank God that _____is most corrupt. I thanks him once again that Christ manifests his power in me. I confess I have neither goodness,or holiness, or righteousness or patience. But I thank and praise you that I have not and will not. Hereafter Oh God I commit my all to you. From now on it is your son who overcomes for me.”
We must cease all efforts to please God or overcome ourselves. The 2 conditions for victory.
1)yielding/repenting: Negative side. We cease from the flesh and self efforts. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
2)believing: positive side. I believe He lives in me and for me. And I believe he loves me and gave himself for me. And gives himself to me. Believe in Gods facts.
God draws close to a broken contrite soul
I used to listen to him and all Paul washer did was cause confusion because of his contractions!!! The gospel is simple believe that Jesus Christ bring the perfect Son of God died for your sins was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures paying the punishment you deserved to pay and you will be saved!
This one wrecked havoc to my youth group. My kids who received this message all began to judge those they felt were not sufficiently saved. Then they began to struggle with sin and began to believe THEY too were not saved. I saw those kids fall into the same mess they had accused the other kids of and a few eventually made their way back to the Lord but dear Lord were their lives a mess it took years to recover from this works based attempt at salvation by emotional response.
When Jesus said you just have to think of a sin and you've done it in the sight of the Father, I must say, in thought , word or deed, I would never stand before God and show him my works and thoughts and ever be perfect like my Father in heaven is perfect. I wish there was a grace gospel that was just a free gift of God , not of works lest I boast about it, but...............we don't have that.
@@orangeandslinkyA temptuous though is not a sin as you suggest.
Hope this helps 🙏
If he believes he believes. Teaching another gospel or leaving people confused is definitely dangerous
Problem is 70% of America claim they believe which isn't true
Paul washer made me agnostic for many years. His clip about crying out to God till he saves you did it
Believing saves you, not glowing.
Yesssssss
@@BibleLine Actually, I think I'd say that God graciously keeps his promise to save those who are willing to believe. It is God who saves. Which is different. Suggesting that the act of 'believing' itself is 'salvific' can quickly confuse someone facing a Calvinist argument. that concept is the root of their accusation to non-Calvinist believers. I.e., "you saved yourself". Calvinism is slippery, and they have their arguments polished well. They learn them the same way they became convinced of them and they repeat them to others who are unprepared to see through the fog. This is why your videos are so important to help prepare people who have never heard the sermon, "What's Wrong With Calvinism?".
@@R.L.KRANESCHRADTT the correct thing to say would be you are saved by God by believing.
@@larryhoward-pl1pe Actually, I think it's safe to stick with what Paul says in Eph.2, that we are saved by grace, through faith. His reference to 'not of works' aligns with his constant comparison of the Jewish works of het law vs. the simple faith of Abraham, by which righteousness is obtained. God has graciously promised to save whosoever will believe. And he can be trusted to honor his word. Calvinists contradict Paul by saying 'Faith' is a 'Work'.
Calvinists trust him to save 'his elect' ... they just can not know whose these lucky nameless, faceless people are. They hope their on the list, but never know for certain if they're loved by God or not.
The attempt by Calvinists to make "it" refer to 'faith' as the gift in Eph.2:8 with the intent to maintain their false premise of inherent Total Inability and that all men lack faith or the ability to believe doesn't work grammatically. Because the Greek is neutral and is not definitive that faith is the gift apart from the subject which is salvation. At best, that argument is 50/50 and as broad as it is long, certainly nothing on which to build that doctrine. Paul is talking about how salvation is obtained, not faith.
When they make faith a singular gift given only to some in Calvinism the only way to explain those who later abandon their profession of faith within their doctrine is the claim that God determined their apostasy as well as the faith they later renounced. Calvin called it Evanescent Grace. A temporary faith given to some and later taken away, that their punishment be even greater. And if he does that to some, no one can know who's next... may be the man in the mirror. Consequently, Calvinists worship a God who cannot be trusted to love anyone, personally.
According to Calvinism, which Paul Washer believes, his answer to that girl should have been, "Nothing. There is nothing you can do to be saved, because that would be synergism and we can't have that. You have to hope that God unconditionally elected you from before the foundations of the world. You have to hope that you are irresistibly graced, and that you are given faith. But understand that you probably aren't."
exactly!!! The worst thing in him is he is not coherent with his own beliefs
Amen brother you said it perfectly!
Excellent understanding of his systematic 👍
Great point Bro. Jesse... she's saved because "she had an emotional experience and feels saved, crying out to God?"
No mention of Jesus Christ whatsoever! No mention of His death, burial, resurrection! His shed blood in Washer's response to this poor girl ...when she asked what must I do to be saved?
We can't replace the true gospel with emotionalism and expect people to get saved and have complete assurance...it's a vicious cycle of desperation.
Lol you have to look at the context of the situation
She was the pastors daughter
She knew the gospel already
Most pastors don't have the right gospel. We cannot for the love of God even find a pastor in all of the province of Ontario that we're 100% sure is saved. They all try sneaking works into the equation, it's always that if you're truly saved, you would do the works, or there would be evidence of faith which is works. It's a sad state of affairs
@@EricSmyth4Christ I was a pastors daughter for several years( he quit because of divorce and just fills in now) And I never really heard the gospel for real until I was like 25. It's was always some confusing mixture of faith and works.
@@celiasleigh2805our behavior towards men reflects our relationship with God. Humility to man = humility to God. Love to man = love to God. Etc. If we aren’t humble and loving we have issues.
James 2….it’s not works that “save us”……it’s our love to fellow man is a reflection of our relationship with God. Can’t say we love God while hating people.
This is the Bible’s teaching. We have way too many men who say they love God but curse and mock people.
Calvinism is the ultimate narcissism!!!

That first Washer clip marks both one of my darkest days and the beginning of light.
I had been drifting into Calvinism. I knew all was not right, I could feel it. Tried exactly what he prescribed. Hid in my room for hours under a blanket praying, "crying out to God" deathly afraid. I eventually gave up. It was probably the deepest despair I had ever been in. I just didn't care to go on. I didn't know who to turn to. All I had left for reckoning, the only place I knew I could find God real voice there was in the book...his Word. I went back to that beginning. "God is not a man that he should lie." John 3:16, John 6, the Bread of Life discourse, Isaiah 53. Whosoever believes can have it. Whosoever means me! Just trust Jesus for it, understand who he is and believe he did it for you, that's it.
Then I found this fellow named Yankee on YT who's sermons cleared one by one all my other buts (1John, judging a tree by its fruit, repentance etc)
Salvation is free. Believe on Jesus and you are truly free!
Nevee seen your videos.....so glad they came across my path.
P.W. caused so much distruction in people's lives.
Here is the question. What was she supposed to be waiting on by crying out to God. A vision, a voice, a feeling. I can't see how anyone could have Paul Washers back. I was saved later in life at 46 and a friend of mine gave me a Paul Washer video to watch thinking he was helping me. After watching the video I was a wreck, I just knew that I wasn't really saved. My advice stay away from Paul Washer.
We know we are saved because we believed in Jesus Christ’s death payment for our sin. There is no other way to be saved, and there is no other way to know you are saved. 1 John 5:10-13.

He’s so arrogant … so full of self importance… he’s almost evil with his false teaching and egomaniacal way of preaching AT people …

@@BibleLine REALLY?? We know??? Is that what the Bible teaches??? What about false belief? Even the demons believe??? What about believing in VAIN???? How do we know that we are TRULY saved??? How do we know that we have TRUE SAVING FAITH??? Is it because WE SAID WE BELIEVE??? What about Jesus baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT?? How do we know we got IT??? I think the bible has a HELL OF A LOT more to say. If you assume that everyone who says they "Believe" are actually saved, then you don't know enough of the bible and you may be leading people into a false understanding of the bible. Who are the many than comes to Jesus and says Lord Lord did we not prophesy in your name??? Are they so called "non-believers" or "believers" ...people who consider themselves Christians??? I think is an abomination to let people think that they are saved and one that day Jesus says to them "I NEVER KNEW YOU". EXAMINE YOURSELF TEST YOURSELF TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN THE FAITH....UNLESS YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN......But Paul I said I believe, I said that i put my trust in Jesus so he must have saved me!!! ok you're saved!! @@donovanlangeveldt5494 So, for a moment, I want you to give yourself a question and I want you to follow along:
Test your faith by watching porn. Watch whatever lust and sin you have in your heart, test it. Unleash your wrath and bitterness, test yourself. After all, Jesus said that, right?
I don’t think you understand Jesus, at all. Temptation is normal, spiritual growth is necessary, but it’s not required. Your heart is what matters, your lips deceive you. Yes, demons believe, but demons aren’t offered salvation. We are offered it. The reason you don’t understand it, and why you can’t see it, is because you think there’s more to it. This is a massive problem in the West. We believe we MUST do more. Yet, we can’t. How can a man or woman of flesh and sin possibly make it into heaven? Is it not through grace and salvation from Christ? The believing on Jesus?
@@donovanlangeveldt5494 The people who are going to hear from Jesus that He never knew them are those who trust in their works. We can know this by just listening to how they defend themselves by saying things like "didn't I do such and such work?" Demons and people with a false profession of faith are those who believe with intellectual assent, but don't possess a saving faith because they've never acknowledged the depth of their own sin and put all of their trust for salvation in Christ and His finished work on the cross. I think that this ministry does an excellent job of clearly expressing the difference between mental assent and having a simple childlike trust in the free gift offered to us. The Holy Spirit then inhabits our very being the moment that we believe, sealing us until the day of redemption. I think that I get what your concern is here, but I see this ministry as being quite clear and helpful in dispelling people's misconceptions about what true salvation is and is not. It's a ministry that exists to help those who need help in getting away from a works based mindset to reach a place where they're secure in the assurance of their salvation. I don't think that it would provide false assurance to the false convert who typically doesn't doubt their salvation, and who isn't concerned with obeying scripture, with having the mind of Christ and with making sure that their hearts are right before the Lord imho.
Paul Washer does not say that we're saved by works. He merely points out that if there's not evidence that the Holy Spirit is changing you, then you're probably not a Christian. If you're not different on day 1000 of being a Christian than you were on day 1, then you're probably not a Christian
Hey Jesse... you gotta find one of my favorite Paul Washer videos in which he says something to the effect of wanting God to save you so badly that you fear you're on the verge of death. Then he gives the example of holding a boy under water so he can't breathe then let's him catch his breath just a little and then pushes him under water again. He does this 3 or 4 times so the boy is terrified and Washer says that you have to want salvation that badly. It's one of the most pitiful displays of crap and heresy that I think I've ever heard.
Paul Washer just uses dramatics to get more viewers. He must not care 😕
I think Paul Washer cares in the same way a Catholic priest cares.
I wondering why did he make it so difficult for that poor girl to see salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. Everytime I hear that stuff I get so troubled. Thanks Pastor Jesse for your excellent teaching. God bless.
Pray for all men in the pulpit, for there is much responsibility in shepherding the flock.
Paul Washer will have a ton of blood on his hands.
Why?
Seems like this is just a story lacking context and this video is making alot of inferences and speculation. Think the point of the story is to attack the sinners prayer.
@@Myblacknadz You know what’s weird is Washer inferred to the young lady that the sinners pray wasn’t it , and then he told her to go home a pray.
@@cotydanger4071why Is that weird? Can you help me understand cause I think I'm missing your point.
@@4jgarnerThe point is people don’t get saved by a sinners prayer, but by believing a clear declaration of the Gospel, when someone believes the gospel that Jesus death burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins they are saved. Instead of explaining that to the young lady he tells her to come home and pray and cry out to God that he might save her. That sounds nice but that is Not the gospel. It is emotional manipulation that doesn’t give true assurance and bases salvation on how the person feels or an experience. I’m saved because I’m standing on the truth and believing the testimony of Jesus and that’s it
Man....this was deep
Found you through the first part of this video. Excellent! Subbed and will be watching more…thank you 😊
GOD Saved me in 1997 just by reading the Gospels Matthew... and when I got to Acts, I believed and Trusted that JESUS saves me, that HE died for my sins... then years later I came across radio programs like John Mcarthur...Ravi... Allister Beg... and found Paul Washer on youtube. oh and way of the master kirk cameron... was drwn to it because washer seemed so passionate. well GOD set me straight.
their teachings are false gospel...they love all their books and teachings...
Thank you brother. TRUTH.I am a graduate of a Pentecostal / Charasmatic Bible College and believe like you on salvation . Although I'm not full time in the ministry I am always looking to learn. I had a brief encounter with the legalists/reformed theologians through a lady that I met. It was my worst experience in my faith I have ever had. They suck the life out of you and make you miserable. The Holy Spirit is edification and progress while dead works makes you feel terrible and worthless. Thank God I managed to get out. All they do is argue and attack rather than pray and encourage the body. All we can do is pray for them that they understand the love of God.
Brother Jesse, I am so glad I found your channel. I really enjoy your videos. I've always had a problem with Washer. He never smiles, seems like he is always mad. I just would not want to sit under his ministry.
The method of evangelism differs from person to person in Calvinism, contingent upon the evangelist's judgment of the sinner. Typically, those who are heartbroken receive assurance from the evangelist, while those who believe they are saved are confronted with words that cast doubt on their salvation when the evangelist believes them to be "false Christians".
This is the usual approach, which is bad in itself. But for some reason, Washer believed that this desperate woman needed to hear these heartless words to force her to take the steps he thought necessary to save her. Reprehensible.
That is a great observation
Excellent observation.
My problem is I’m worried I’m not truly believing, it scares me because I know deep within that I’m believing in the Lord and have faith in only him and him alone for my salvation. It’s just how I’m feeling and in my heart I’m terrified that what if my faith that I believe I have isn’t real and that I’ll go to Hell when the time comes. 😞
I think 2 Peter 3:9 might help you out here: "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
If you're trusting in Jesus alone, that's all you need right there. In fact, it breaks His heart to have to deny anyone entrance into Heaven. He LOVES you, and I think it's safe to say that He wants to see you in Heaven more than you want to go to Heaven.
Also, Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that the just shall live by faith. So me, I'd say you're golden. It honestly sounds like it's satan trying to make you doubt your salvation -- something I struggled with A LOT until finding Jesse's videos a few weeks ago. I did, at first, write him off as a false teacher, but given how he has exposed Paul Washer here as a false teacher -- and I used to be a fan of PW, no less -- I'm now beginning to see for myself that it IS all about Jesus and not us cleaning up our act.
Yes, I want to honor the Lord, yet I know all too well that I have issues that may never be completely resolved before I meet the Lord in person. Yet, I now know that I won't face condemnation for such. Chastisement, maybe. Loss of rewards, maybe...but praise God, I won't have to deal with hell for eternity.
That video made me agnostic. I saw this video of Paul in 2015. I asked God to save me one time and had a nervous feeling. Pray my eyes will see the truth or something.
Good video. PW does confuse things.
I recall another story of Washer where he spoke of some guy reading a scripture until he began to holler "I'm saved!!!!". It made me feel if I didn't begin to involuntarily rejoice like that I must have "never really been saved".
That's a shame... People should look to the scripture instead of emotional responses to tell if they are saved. Paul wants everyone to emulate his example to see if they are saved or not. The reality is that the scripture states we are saved by faith alone in Christ alone for the full payment of our sins. Emotional responses may vary...

I know the exact one you're talking about and after hearing it, I spent WEEKS in despair because though I was saved, I was going thru some things and I just felt empty inside. Upon hearing that sermon it wrecked me. I thought surely the Holy Spirit had left and God had abandoned me. Yeah and PW spent 4 hours with that man in prayer if I recall correctly. 😢
I was saved over 20 years ago, but if I listen to Paul Washer can feel condemned and unsaved. One day I shared one of his sermons with a biblically wise teacher in our church and she stopped 5 minutes into his sermon and called him a false teacher. Besides driving people away, Washer encourages prideful Christians to admonish and condemn others (all of course in the name of “love”). Thank you for speaking the Truth in love.
Thank you Karen. Hope we can continue to encourage you in the truth of God’s word.

The worst is this guy was a missionary in Peru for years and now trains others for the mission field. I thought he was preaching truth for awhile there, because he really seemed sincere and his love for God so genuine... but I became so morose and disheartened the more I listened to him. But I thought surely a man that loves God that much that he would become a missionary wouldn't treat others this way. He had me messed up. Same with Voddie Baucham who I really like but he completely denies the rapture and is reformed/southern Baptist/calvinist. Whatever. They're all in the same weird camp with Calvin and Spurgeon as their Saints of idolatry
some twist the scriptues because they know the scriptures.
some twist the scriptures because they dont know the scriptures
with some reworking there is a really deep lyric in that.
Indeed. PW pretzels the scriptures into a knot, sadly.

The apostle Paul didn’t do to the Philippian jailer what Paul Washer did to that girl.
“It didn’t do any good?” All he needed to do is give her the word on this. Romans 10:9 to 13. That would have settled it.
Mr. Washer likes putting people into fear. This is not evangelism for the lost, this is bullying for the saved.
Ever notice that when Mr. Washer talks about people deceiving themselves into believing they are saved that he never includes himself? If any can be deceived than he can too. It’s as if he thinks he has the magic key to salvation. It’s fear.
With Jim Bakker the world is always coming to and end. You need his $2000.00 judgment of God survival package. Creflo Dollar once said that people are in hell because they didn’t tithes. (like to know how he knows that). But that’s putting people into fear to send him money.
So if Mr. Washer can scare people into thinking they are not saved, then he has his platform, you have to come to him.
The sad part of these calvinist preachers is how they say you have to beg and plead and hopefully God will save you. No real assurance of Salvation. Hopefully you're one of God's chosen elect. The Bible is so clear that whosever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, not might be. Thank you Pastor for this. In Christ we have true assurance of Salvation. Whosever believes and trusts in Jesus and what he did for us on the cross is saved.
These guys did so much harm to believers...
Begging is better than nothing. But if your willing to beg, your willing to except christ into your life.

If Free Grace theology is true, especially OSAS, then Paul will be fine
In a way it's a gnostic gospel. They teach that you can't be saved by believing. You have to "know" God in a certain special way. In this case you have to "feel" a certain way but also he adds works to that as well. I notice in all his sermons he puts on this facade of despair. It's like he's trying to prove he's saved by showing how he feels. I don't know... that's just how it comes off to me. I don't hate Paul Washer or anything. I just think he is hurting a lot of people with his teaching.
Does Paul the apostle not teach that you must know that you are saved??? Does Apostle Paul not tell the church to examine to test themselves to make sure that they are in the faith???? Why does John give us a list of tests to make sure that we can know we have everlasting life??? Why does the apostle Paul warn that we may believe in VAIN???? Why does James say that people SAY they believe but their actions don't show it and THAT EVEN DEMONS BELIEVE. He asks he question: CAN SUCH A FAITH SAVE????? The Bible does not stop at BELIEVE and you will be saved it has a LOT more to say. My advice to you is the same as Apostle Paul and Paul Washer...TEST YOUR SELF EXAMINE YOURSELF...make sure you ARE NOT BELIEVING in vain. Are you still repenting everyday or did you stop when you said you believed??? God bless

Paul Washer sounds like he is afraid and lacks any assurance. In the video somewhere he used the word "christian" then almost immediately changed it to say"true christian". His fake emotionalism and self righteousness is so sickening. These kinds of people always believe they live up to God's expectations. That they accomplish what we fail to do. That they have saved themselves.

Hey, brother. You refer to the finished work of Christ on the cross. What do you you consider that to be in light of Romans 5:10? Thanks

Are you inferring that Paul washer teaches baptism saves???? or are you just asking an unrelated question??
@@donovanlangeveldt5494 unrelated
@@natureboy2396 i take it you found some videos about this?? I hope you don't mind me giving you some biblical guidance. Firstly Jesus we need to understand that the word baptism means to dip or immerse. there is more than one use of the this word ie not every time the word is used does it refer to WATER BAPTISM. It has multiple meanings. example the Israelites were baptized into Moses and the cloud - this clearly has nothing to do with baptism as we understand it but more with a spiritual immersion. Same with Jesus's baptism of the holy spirit. Do yourself a favor and search the word and see what they mean in each context. Secondly note that jesus ordered his disciples NOT to go the the gentiles or Samaritans as per his own words, He came only for the house of Judah. When he gave them instruction to go and make disciples of all nations and baptizing them in the name of the father son and holy spirit, they ONLY GO TO JEWS??? Why?? Did they understand He meant gentiles as well?? Or did he still not mean gentiles??? Read the book of Acts for yourself. if they understood His sending them to include gentiles, then why did He have to convince Peter with a dream??? Why did Peter resist at first?? Why did the other apostles question peter when they heard that he went to a gentile??? Why do god save the gentiles when they believed in their heart...He gave them the holy Spirit before they were baptized. Why did Peter say that he only at that time remembered Jesus's promise of HIS baptism of the Holy Spirit??? Last point: Paul was the appointed apostle to the jews and in Galatians he makes a stunning statement. he admits to only baptizing a few people! The ones he mentions are all jews as paul always fist went to the Jews and then to the gentiles. he also says that Christ DID NOT send him to baptize but to preach the GOSPEL. SO he did not get the same marching orders from Christ as Peter and the others did. i think that's clear. Conclusion: If the Gospel saves and Paul says that Christ did not send him to BAPTIZE BUT TO PREACH the Gospel then how can the BAPTISM SAVE???? Its clearly not art of the SAVING gospel. Anyway I hope this gives you some guidance. Videos are great but its better to study the word of God so that you can understand it yourself. God Bless
Paul needs to repent over this sermon. I'm shocked over this as I would have never believed it.
There are different ways to bring a sinner to Christ
I’m not a Free Gracer, but I’ve literally converted someone to Christ using Free Grace Theology
Paul Washer is a drama queen
That made me laugh. You’re not wrong.
Sadly he is very passionate. We do hope he gets it right one day…

There's nothing wrong with the sinner's prayer and it is biblical. A sinner asking Christ for salvation is the same as the publican asking God for mercy, or the thief on the cross asking Christ to remember him, or the Samaritan woman asking for the living water. It is the acceptance of the free gift.
If this woman had already asked for salvation then what she needed to be told is that she has already been saved. She was saved the first time she asked.
Paul Washer said in a video "God does not love sinners". Which is INSANE. The Bible literally says God comendeth His LOVE toward us in that while we were yet SINNERS, Christ died for us.
If he truly believes the Gospel, as he seems to, then He needs to ask The Lord for forgiveness for all the destruction he's caused and apologize profusely to the flock he has misled for so many years.
In the spirit of Paul Washer: "Where is your repentance?"
Wasn't it you who said that true faith is preceded and followed by repentance?
As Jesus said: "And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:"
There is a reason that Jesus told us not to judge. I hope he repents. :/ And I hope The Lord will help me to love and forgive him as I ought.
Please bless Paul Lord. Have mercy on him.
I would love to know where this girl is today and how her life is...
15:36 The young man is referring to these verses:
John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father
There is a very sad reality to what Paul Washer is saying. There are many people I that I have been praying to come to salvation in Jesus for many years. If predestination unto salvation and regeneration preceding faith is true then all of my prayers and witnessing of the gospel is futile. We know God can not lie and does not contradict Himself. The gospel is clear and full of Gods mercy and love for all!!!
john 1 : 29 KJV behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the World
I can only explain this by saying that Paul Washer is much older in this second video where he he speaking truth.. I can tell by the haircuts that the crazy talk with that girl was years earlier.. I am hoping that Paul Washer maybe has had a breakthrough in his doctrine since his pathetic council with that girl..
Yes he was younger. But he needs to repent of what he told this girl. Maybe he did but there’s no evidence that he has.
@bibleline I explained in another post of yours how my husband Israel is struggling with attack bc of coming into Washer and Calvinism. He is Cuban and so doesn’t at all understand the history of the church - who Calvin is - etc etc so he is really in a vulnerable place of not knowing what he doesn’t know. He also only speaks Spanish right now so washer has a lot in Spanish! Can I ask ur organization and church to pray for us and do you have ANY biblical Spanish resources I can point my husband to?
This is so utterly confusing for me but my husband has regressed to addictions and mental illness that he was freed from in his initial touch from Christ.
For me Washer is so indicative of the enemy bc he uses his knowledge of the gospel to deceive and misguide. The devil knows the Bible more than any - no? The proof is in the fruit - the fruits of the enemy in genesis was punishment from god and a disconnection - am with washer
My husband has become MORE DISCONNECTED FROM GOD since finding washer and others like him.
Hi Jesse, one thing you said really stood out to me. Paul washer said the phrase (true Christian). Your response was what does that mean? I’ve listened to him a lot through the years. I’m about 99% sure he means a born again believer.John3:3. In my opinion, we need to get away from this word (Christian). It’s too confusing to too many people. 80 to 90% of Americans claim the title of Christian. And most of those people really believe that they’re going to heaven. But most of them will spend eternity in hell. I heard a survey one time that said 7 to 8% of Americans claimed to be born again believers. If this is true or anywhere near true? relatively few people will be going to heaven.
Yes, I agree with you. The problem with Washer is his backloaded gospel presentation. He use words such as “truly, genuine, really… “ saved or believer as though believers are qualified between a fake faith and a real faith. Faith is faith. It is simply believing in Christ.

I completely understand. I never looked at it that way. It will give me something to think about this weekend. Do you think those statistics are anywhere near accurate? Or should I quit using those numbers? Thanks
It’s hard to know, honestly. I think a lot of people are seeking for the truth nonetheless. That’s why we do our ministry here. I thank you for your cordial comments.

I find it strange when people are against the Sinners' prayer because from my youth and upwards reading the word, Jesus the Messiah told the parable of the Publican and the Sinner- in which the Taz collector would not lift his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast and said to God, " I am a sinner, unworthy" or something of that nature, and was seeking the forgiveness of God in PRAYER- in his heart.
And Jesus said that this man got to heaven before the Self-Rightoues Pharisee, who would say that he was thankful to God that he was not a sinner like this other man and all his tithing of mint, and cumin and 10% tithe was on point.
And Jesus REJECTED that prayer- of that motivation! But Jesus REPRESENTED and accepted the Heartfelt need OF THE sinner TO FIND {grace} with GOD at the point of humility and total spiritual bankruptcy. So prayer is not a problem per se'. But Jesus also said that REBIRTH was needed to even see the kingdom of GOD and Peter and John also gave us more life to go on and this Calvinsist preachers and others do not teach rebirth of the spirit and indwelling of the Holy Spirit and its finality and perfect part of God's plan,
Faith in Jesus Christ is what saves. Can this be done THROUGH the avenue of prayer? Yes. Is it required? No. I don’t have to pray to believe something new. The rebirth is given upon the moment of belief. Cf John 3:3-16, Eph. 1:12-14.

I think some people are not so much against the " Sinners Prayer " alone , it's when people live a sinful life after saying the " sinners prayer " , and think they are only going to heaven because they said that prayer 10 , 20 , or 30 years earlier , but haven't shown any fruit of salvation , a strong prayer life , dilligently studying the Word , avoiding lustful acts , witnessing , fellowshipping with other believers , not constantly lieing , theft , etc , etc ,.. Their lives are really no different than before being saved . Maybe that verse teaches that being honest with God , realizing you fall short on a daily basis before a Holy God , and as you said , being in a state of " total spiritual bankruptcy " is the way to approach God , and not as the self-righteous Pharisee who apparantly thought his tithing had a part in making him acceptable to God . Anyway , I thought that would be one way to look at the " sinners prayer " . This is not an invitation for argument , but , I have heard Calvinists teach " indwelling of the Holy Sprit " and it having finality many times , and i'm not a Calvinist at all . I enjoyed reading your comment , and decided I would give a few thoughts of my own . May God bless and keep you safe
This is a HUGE problem with Paul Washer: The free grace he preaches occasionally, he takes away just as quickly. Sometimes even in the same sermon. It puts you on a roller coaster from assurance of salvation to total despair and back and forth and back and forth. It's cruel.
Strawman argument. “Tragic what if” lol. You either believe in God is as most “ professing” Christians as omnipotent and sovereign. Or you don’t! As a labeled “Calvinist” ( I’ve never read a single book outside of scripture supporting Calvin) the scripture is quite clear that God is both Omnipotent and Sovereign even over salvation. It has been established before the foundation of the world ALL that will belong to the Son (his bride).
I agree Washer is harsh but you can’t argue against a single point he makes. Sometimes a good spiritual foot across one’s backside is needed. Paul ( the Apostle) was harsh with the church’s when he wrote to some. In Revalation Christ is harsh with the church as well. It’s not always puppy dogs and roses people in scripture. The Armenian view of salvation is heretical “self” guided humanism. Where as true Christian faith is Monergistic what God begins he finishes.
You're splitting hairs here. And I hope and pray it's not because of envy. The reason it was different with the girl from the past is because he knew her situation, and what he told her to do worked. I hope you find a better way to spend your time in the future, rather than attacking godly men who do much good.
I dont care that he spoke well on the second video, what he "cried out" to the crowd that he doesnt believe Just ANYONE can be saved.
He said it himself.
Anyone who directs us toward our own self righteousness is trusting in themselves and turning us away from Trusting in the Finished Work of JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. Therefore believe in The Lord Jesus Christ for whom The Son sets free is Free Indeed.
Right on!

@@BibleLine Paul Washer made me agnostic for many years. The video where he told the girl to cry out to God until she’s saved made me agnostic for a long time.
Amen.
If you apply the rationalistic logic of Calvinism you lose the objectivity of the 1) promise 2) work of Christ on the cross 3) intention of God to save ... YOU READING THIS. Instead everything starts to revolve around the doctrine of election where instead of faith receiving the grace and forgiveness offered for ME in the gospel everything starts to revolve around marks of the election which is genuine faith genuine conversion genuine life. Everything becomes subjective based on experience just like the Charismatic movement they like to critique because of that.
Paul Washer, and the rest of the guys that are in the same circle...are all dangerous. I heard him teach this sermon years ago. You should here some of his other ones, when he's speaking at a youth camp.
The same with John MacArthur, Voddie Bauchi’s, Tim Conway, etc.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:6-12 KJV
Yes!
So I suspect that many of these guys when they were awful young probably believed in Christ in that good sweet innocent childlike way and are saved…. And then they grow into this person who looks back at people who are less “mature”, or at least not as mature as they (the Washer types) perceive themselves to be, and say “where are your works?”
Truly Paul has a great many works and has done so much, but the thing is he judges people from his own perceived “righteousness” rather than sees them through the righteousness of Christ. So at the end he becomes righteous in his own eyes and destroys people through that.
So when a preacher insists that a person must be doing works to prove their faith, have they also considered their works of self-righteous pride that has crushed so many souls and if this proves their own faith? Have they become blind?
As if we needed any evidence that believers still sin terribly it can be clearly seen in the way some “mature” believers devastate the faiths of others.
Amen, I got angry at this video from Paul Washer. I also made a video on the same video from Paul Washer. If any saved Christians used the Simple Romans Road gospel, that girl would have gotten saved.
He man is a calvinist, he wanted the girl to cry to make sure she is the Elect.
People call me a Calvinist. I don't know much about a Calvinist at all though. I heard Paul Washer is one. Paul Washer is so very unhappy. He seems to hate believers. I don't get how he helps people at all. People call me a Calvinist because I had no desire to be a Christian at all. When God saved me, I had as much to do with it as Saul did. I don't come from a Christian home or anything like that. What I'm trying to say is, God chose to save me, I did not seek after Him. I'm very glad I'm saved but It wasn't my idea at all. Does that make me a Calvinist?
Thank you for your honesty and no this does not make you a Calvinist. God pursues the lost and shows His love through the person of christ Jesus and the truth of His love is what compels us to Him. There is no magic wand in heaven that God is waving over the elect. My testimony is similar but was searching Spiritual for truth. Just to inform you correctly about Calvinism (I am a Calvinist), Washer's works-based teachings are the antithesis of Calvinism. So just because Washer says he's a Calvinist, this doesn't mean everything he says is Calvinistic.
Works-based doctrines are actually Arminian, not Calvinist. So Washer is actually preaching as an Arminian in this clip.

Sinner's prayer testimonies
One man asked me if I remembered him?
He said he had prayed to receive JESUS months ago and something happened. His life had changed.
One young man said a Sinner's prayer when drunk, went to jail shortly after. In jail he thought about the prayer and had his mother bring him a Bible. He is now attending church with his daughter. One man was confused about his X Y chromosomes. He prayed and the confusion ended. Friends of one lady who prayed said: She has been so happy since you prayed with her. JESUS said As the FATHER sent ME, so I send you (to seek and save the lost)
Rescue those heading towards destruction.
John 1:12 As many as received JESUS, to them HE gave the POWER to be children of GOD.
Ephesians 3:17 That CHRIST may dwell in your heart through Faith.
If any Preacher says you can not lead people to CHRIST he is a cowardice producing pharasee.

Deception on purpose or utter confusion??? I sincerely fearnthe final outcome of calvanists. Even Islam claims to believe in the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob to core of their being but we all know that is not true.

A license to sin is not a suggestion to sin
He might save you!!!! has Paul have any idea of the simple message of salvation? Anyone following Paul will never think they have been saved or if you know you are saved he will make you think you have lost it! It almost seems that he is trying to convinced himself he is doing enough works to be saved or stay saved.
Well he got the result didnt he? She got saved. God deals with people differently.
Religious experiences do not save ANYONE!! This poor deluded young women!!? The very word religion means and it is latin "to bind up".
Yes I agree to trust in the finished work of Christ. But James tells us that if our faith doesn't have works, is a dead faith. Even Jesus tells to "deny yourself take up your cross and follow me...". I think This means true saving faith is obedient faith, also includes forsaking our sins???🤔🤔🤔
Why would we forsake our sins to be saved if Jesus already paid for our sins? Does forsaking our sins prove our salvation? How so? Is the initial faith not enough to save?
Of course there is the practical sanctifying element in the life of the believer, but that element does not actually do anything to prove I am actually saved or not. I know I’m saved because I believed in Christ.
1 John 5:13

@@BibleLine Sir, true believers of Christ are those who are born of God or born again and they will overcome the world (flesh).
You know you're saved, if your life is in a process of being changed. God will change you, because He will discipline you if you don't obey His will until you become like Christ. But we can still commit sin, we are not sinless but our sins become less.
Let’s just go off what you said. “You know you’re saved if your life is in a process of being changed.” Therefore my faith alone was not enough?
Now you say “God will change you because He will discipline you if you don’t obey his will until you become more like Christ.”
Okay, yes to discipline, but does God remove my free will? He automatically makes me do good works since I believed? Why am I therefore commanded to do and not do certain things? Is it because every sin is still possible to the believer?
You then state, “But we can still commit sin, we are not sinless but our sins become less.”
Are there certain sins that are no longer possible? What is a “sinning less” life? Why is my less sinfulness proof of my salvation? Didn’t Jesus die for all my sin?
Is it my initial faith that saves me into eternal life, is it the works I do, or is it both?
This is just confusing. I understand you claim God WILL work in us, but if that were true to the extent you proclaim; we would have to be perfect. God wouldn’t just kick out adultery from our life but be okay with lying. That’s ridiculous.

@@wayneray117
So when you give The Gospel of Jesus Christ to a child ( who is a individual person) they already have limited knowledge of most things but telling them they have to do "good works to be saved" is very complicating and unnecessary; reason is that they're a child who doesn't know that they are sinful and wouldn't be able to do much of works ( service to GOD/ discipleship) that is why discipleship is different from Salvation.
if you tell a small child that
to go to Heaven you first have to read Scripture, pray, go to Church, give The Gospel of Jesus Christ to others, be baptized etc... The child is limited in ability and understanding in most of those things already because he or she is only a child they cannot support themselves to go out and get in a car to go to church or walk there or pray they will have to learn just like baby Christians how to do The Things of GOD but before they can be of to service to GOD they must BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ALONE FOR SALVATION . Hearing The Gospel and goes by a individual's response to The Message given.
If they believe.
Then they know they are Saved because they have believe on Christ Alone.
when saying that you "know " that you saved means because you believe Alone in The Finished Work of Jesus Christ and Jesus did on the cross for all our sins past present future by with His Powerful Innocent Precious Blood
As a payment for our sins
when we believe this to be true we are agreeing with GOD and
receive it as a gift from GOD for Salvation .
Jesus Christ is The Only Way to Heaven.
There is no other payment for sins .
Just by a person believing that Jesus died for them is how a person know that they have eternal life. Again because they (( believed.))
But saying that because a person sins less in life or do good things for GOD isn't evidence of salvation because " good works" cannot save anyone.
A believer's assurance on salvation is in believing Solely on Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on The Cross as a payment for the person who believes sins. nothing more nothing less.
But if a believer sins it doesn't mean they have lost their Salvation. Once saved always saved we can not ever lose our Salvation we are Saved and sealed with The Holy Spirit until the Day of Redemption.
If a believer sins it means that person is not growing in the faith and is doing what they want to do.
remember sin is sin.
If a Christian starts sinning it is interruption in their fellowship with GOD .
And if not repenting ( for believers not unbelievers) means to change their minds on their sin and turn to GOD and relying on GOD to forsake them .
Not turning from sins in a believer's life can lead to some severe consequences that might lead to very strict consequences from GOD because He loves us all and wants to correct us all like Good Father would.
The Bible says that GOD chastened the ones who He loves and scourges every son Who He receives.
And GOD loves His Children so much that He wants them to have a long and fruitful life .
But when in sin is very dangerous and disruptive.
Whether
Pride
Murder
Lying
sexual sin / perversity
Lying
Stealing
Unnecessary anger
blasphemy
gluttony
Etc......
These are what stops fellowship with GOD but not Salvation because this is why Jesus was sent to the cross to die for all our sins past present future.
Believe our Lord Jesus Christ says when He said" it is Finished" .
@@Jesussaves.7777 I did not say works can save us. But works (this includes habitual sins) is the result of genuine faith.
Pharisees may had good works too but never forsake their wickedness so didn't really had genuine faith to God because they were still in their sins. They weren't doing God's will.
1 cors. 6:9,10
Do you not know that the UNRIGHTEOUS will NOT inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED: nor sexually immoral, nor idolaters. . .
I believe it’s more than believing the facts about Jesus such as DBR.. the miracles He did was to get us to believe Him for what he promises, you must believe his promise to be born again, Which is (John 3:16,4:14,5:24,6:40,6:47,11:25-27,12:50)
Just like Abraham believed in the Lord for the promise and it was accounted to him for righteousness, we too must believe in the Lord for the promise to be accredited righteousness.
Romans 4:20-22 (NKJV) 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
The promise is the seed: Jesus Christ. Therefore to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior is to believe the promise.

He's saying the right words, but does not believe it is available to 'whosoever', but rather only those chosen before the world was created and no one else. He's using a different dictionary and intentionally misleading people about it. He will still deny what you believe these words mean when examined. Washer doesn't even know if he's truly loved or just experiencing Evanescent Grace, just like many recent de-converts, even those in leadership, who now deny their previous confession of faith in Christ and have left the Calvinist movement.
Interesting but very sad story. In June of 2001, during his message at a Ligonier’s Conference in Orlando, Fla., the late Dr. R. C. Sproul indicated that Dr. James Boice, a scheduled speaker at the conference, was dying that very night. Then at the end of the message he asked all 5,000 present to pray that Jim "dies in faith".
Dr. Boyce was his friend, considered a great pastor, theologian, teacher, and author, yet Dr. Sproul was not sure that he was regenerate. Dr. Boyce did die that night. They all hoped he persevered ... but they cannot know if that was God's "gift" to him or not. No one can ever know on this side of the Grassy Knoll.
The real irony lies in their 'prayer' that Dr. Boyce would truly be saved. According to "U"nconditional Election... God either loved him 'salvifically' or he hated him before he was born, just like their example of Esau. And literally nothing could ever be done to change his eternal decree. Besides, if God hated him, why would they run the risk of 'loving' him?... They just don't know, and are taught to believe they cannot know.
But, most won't admit it, even to themselves. It is said that Dr. Sproul even wondered out loud near is own death if he had done 'enough'.
Regardless of their claims to the contrary, Calvinists can have no real personal assurance of theirs, or anyone's, salvation. They're only whistling past the grave yard and hoping for the best, because they believe they're either 'picked' or they'll bust Hell wide open without a prayer.... literally. I have no doubt Sproul or Washer, et al, and other Calvinists confessing Christ are saved. But their own doctrine does not afford them this same confidence. That's why it's so evil. It can rob a true believer of any confidence they are truly loved by God.... Satan really likes doing that.
Desperate for 'evidence' of salvation, they cling to their 'works' as pieces of a broken shipwreck at sea, it's all they have.
Faith necessarily produces good works although they are not meritorious in any way
If you don’t have the works, then were you saved by faith to begin with? Therefore are they meritorious or not? Shouldn’t be…

What's tragic is the eternal distance of the diffetence of 12"-14" inches between a false converts head knowledge about Jesus Christ and a truly implanted new heart in the new birth gifted by Gods grace alone.
Mans faith saves zero sinners. Only Christs faith saves, and that Faith is gifted to the elect sons of God at the moment of their regeneration.
Many elect start out worshippers of their imaginary autonomous free will in their false conversion, so.. don't be too discouraged you false converts, just seek fruit you've been made a utterly new creature in Christ abd being MADE conformed more into His image. If you're still worshipping idols, coveting the world or the things of this world, lusting in your heart, be sure Christ is NOT in you.
If this is what you believe then you have fallen for a false gospel brother. I recommend reading Romans, Galatians and John until you understand the simplicity and power of the true Gospel that saves. Peace.
Therefore we have no free will, we are robots, God clearly doesn’t love everyone, and he chooses some to go to hell.
Or
We have free will, we are created in the image of God, Jesus died for everyone, and faith alone in Christ alone saved anyone into eternal life.

@@BibleLine You have a will, it's not free and especially not autonomous. God knew before He created everyone those His grace would be used to demonstrate His love and mercy in, and those His wrath and judgment would be demonstrated in.
If you reject this, you reject Truth.
@@corbentaylor7825 I dont need to read Romans, Ephesians, Galations. I have them memorized. You read them...asking for Gods wisdom.

I have never liked Paul washer but the weird thing is I watched a video the other day that was like 11 days old and it wasn't his video it was somebody that made a compilation of different preachers and the weird thing was that in this particular video Paul washer spoke the grace of God Just the exact same way you do... And I was confused lol because I've always heard him to be just like he is in your video here... So I was confused by that
I been noticing a change in him. He preached on the Holy Spirit to the point where his camp was accusing him of sounding like a charismatic. Because as I'm sure you know that calvinists are also cessationests and do not believe in the gifts of the Spirit such as speaking in tongues but lo and behold, there was Paul up in that pulpit begging for more of Holy Spirit to fall in ANY kind of way so that souls could be won. So maybe, just maybe he's coming around. We don't know. Only God.
@@ValerieCox-t7d Well if he has the courage to change his stance and trust me that does take a ton of courage and I will have nothing but respect for that... And I pray that he does it and that God's strengthens him to do it.. because as a preacher, I would imagine that when you've been preaching in a certain way and have been as harsh as he's been about things and somehow realize that you've been wrong and to make those changes, that takes a heck of a lot of courage so he will have nothing but respect from me if he does that... Thanks for your comment, let's pray for the man 🌹
This is a HUGE problem with Paul Washer: The free grace he preaches occasionally, he takes away just as quickly. Sometimes even in the same sermon. It puts you on a roller coaster from assurance of salvation to total despair and back and forth and back and forth. It's cruel.
@@Rosegarden-c4y trust me, I've been there before... That's why people need to get to know the word of God for themselves.. they have to be able to recognize the lies and false teaching.. I don't let people like that bother me anymore.. I avoid them like the plague.. I will not watch someone who teaches anything other than the truth... I watch Charles Lawson.. And that's when I finally began to understand and to heal from all the false teaching.. Now I won't even listen to someone who preaches with a forked tongue like Paul washer, even Carter conlin does that, one sermon will be grace and the other one will be "but if you have this besetting sin you're going to hell" type thing... I won't do that anymore... Never again... I watch Charles Lawson and Jack hibbs.... Both are very good. But I also spend a lot of time in the word... not a ton of time but I read the word everyday... And before I read I pray for God to give me understanding... It sounds like you've been through it just like I have.. Just stay away from people like that... The minute someone teaches in a way that causes you to focus on what you're doing wrong instead of what Jesus did, then you know It's wrong teaching... God bless you 💝
