Totally agree. And thanks for the shout out. I'm a wee shorty so think thats how it works for me. Was interesting riding without it. Shows how perfect it is for me and stops me getting buffered around the place. Pleased we did this we test :)
Hold your hands flat along side the tank by your knees, the wind from there is causing the buffeting, it comes from underneath the tank, goes up and meets the air coming over the top of the screen creating turbulence. The only thing that stops it is the fork wind deflectors or "fangs"
Totally agree. I had one on my fatboy and the strain it put on my neck just trying to keep my head still lead to uncomfortable riding. Love your choice of music to
Windscreens only have two working positions, either above your head blocking all wind (which the question could be then asked why is someone even riding), or it has to be below the chin and you’ll always have wind buffeting on the helmet. Great video brother for sure. And no worries, not everyone is a windscreen person. I had to put a shorter one on my King to make it more comfortable. But I’m a wuss and don’t like the wind hitting me in the chest at 120kph. Y’all stay safe!
Love the Superman Ring ! Wow you are so close to 1000 subs. My Brother in Law has that windscreen for his wide glide he loves it ( he is short ) lol. My Electra glide My wind screen is the tallest Harley makes I have a long body and short legs works great for me I can see over it . The wind protection is amazing .
Wish mine was that easy to swap out, would definitely be nice to put a smaller one on for warmer days, or as you did just move it up or down! Loved the music choice, it worked really well. Great review bud!
Fair enough 👌 did you try Scooting down when had it up all way . Since I started wearing the full face helmet at interstate speed 80+ I get lots of bluffing on the helmet. To me faster you go the smaller the negative space gets .
I’m looking into getting a windscreen too… but from my research I’ve found that they recommend that the top of the windscreen should be the same height as the center of your nose to prevent the buffeting on your head. Have you checked to see if it comes to the middle of your nose?? I’m just curious, not trying to tell you how to use it…. I have never used a windscreen in my 40 years of riding, so I just want to do enough research before I spend the $300 (US) on a windscreen that beats my head with buffeting. Thank you for sharing your experience with the windscreen! God bless you brother! Donnie (Standing Goats Rescue)
I think I may do in the future but it wouldn't be for a while as I'm just about to blow my bill-clip on new ape bars :D Also, after thinking about it the only reason I would want one is to keep the bugs off my visor but then I'd just need to clean them of the windscreen!
Quarter fairing for a full face helmet and open face for the windsheild bro. A bell rogue helmet is good as well for use with a windsheild and some face protection thrown in : )
In my 11+ years of riding the only screen I had was on my GSXR which I never rode for any length of time so I too am used to riding without one but I am curious how one would benefit me on longer trips. Great to hear your thoughts dude, I’m 6ft3 so guessing I would feel the same as you with it.
I think you need a taller windscreen and some lowers. Seems like the Harley windscreens have real bad reviews on RUclips, I actually just ordered a 18.5 inch National Cycle windscreen with lowers, hope I don't have the same problem...
@@MisterKiwiRider ive gone up a size in screen already. Improved it a bit. Need to go up another size. Only problem is in summer there's no breeze to cool me down
On my Sport Glide I tried the 15" Gustaffsen wind screen with vents with the stock seat and stock fairing. At 5'-8" this screen should have been the perfect screen to stop all wind buffeting. But the vibration of my helmet was brutal. I tried closing the vents off to see it that helped and it made no difference. Sure it kept bugs and debris off of me, but.... could not handle the buffeting. So I went to a 5.5" screen and now chest gets some protection and my head/helmet is in so called "clean air" which has reduced the buffeting. Sure I get more bugs on the helmet now, but I would rather clean bugs then put up with massive head vibration. Long story short.. Maybe taller might not be the answer...
@@impoppa9647 That's interesting as having this one at the lowest point on my forks did that very thing too. I had chest protection but my helmet was just in the open air with zero buffeting. Physics are weird.
Just going up that hill out of town there, you didn't see my petrol cap I lost on the side of the road going up there when i was heading to the Burt ???😂
Possibly, as you are 5cm shorter than me but it's such a personal thing that I couldn't say for sure. Maybe try and find someone in your area that you can borrow one from to try
Freddy, you need to be around when I'm editing them dude. Two years this has been out and you're just telling me now you don't like it?! You've let me down bro. I'm not mad, just dissapointed

I love that ring too :D
Great informative, honest review Bruce., I have heard a few people mention the "buffering" type feeling with windsrceens. Good job!!!
Cheers Doug! It was a strange sensation
Hey guys great review great to see Kiwi's on you tube.
All the best from Auckland 👍
Thanks Dave, great to see Kiwis in the comments 😁👌

That tune was a banger! Just had to use it somewhere :D
I didn’t like the distortion caused by the curved lip. Went with the traditional 14” and it is great.
Nice review, I have Klockwerks Flare on my SGS and love it.
Awesome, it's good to hear of folks finding the right fit for them :D

I did try scooching down, which worked but it was a very weird riding position that I wouldn't have been able to maintain for long
@@MisterKiwiRider yep it would so you just need taller windshield

Good honest and comprehensive review, are you going to look for a taller shield now ?

I decided I didn't really need/want a windscreen after trialling this one. Good luck with yours, I hope it works out well
I have lots of wind rattling my head on my Street Glide. I haven't been able to solve it for me yet
I was just talking to a rider yesterday that had to have a taller screen custom made for his Ultra to solve that very issue

GDAY KIWIS !!!
Gidday Flip!
What kind of handlebars do you have?
Those are H-D Hollywood bars, more commonly seen on the Softail Slim 👍
Be careful once you start with a wind screen you are on your way to riding a “gezer glide” like the rest of us 😆😂 old guys

I'm short- does it work for the farmers wife,if she's short ?
She is shorter than me by a reasonable amount and she has it attached permanently (when not on loan to me). I believe it works very well for her 😎👍
