This was one of the best season of college basketball. When I was in high school my classmates and I would rushed home after school just to watch the games. It was also a big discussion during class time !!! Good old days..
My greatest memory while attending UCONN. I graduated this year, so this was a great ending to my college life! Watched the game at Civic Pub (maybe it was called Fourplay by then? can't remember. Above Sgt Pepperoni's). Got there at 1pm in the afternoon to get a good table in the corner by one of the TVs. By 5pm it was packed and they weren't letting anyone else in. Just a crazy, electric, fun atmosphere. Will never forget it! The first and BEST Uconn championship!
Im.a Duke fan. This was one the best NCAA championship games i ever seen. UConn made more bigger plays than Duke. The one team i knew that could be beat them was UConn because they had nice squad.and had no answer for Rip Hamilton and Moore did a great job defensely on Langdon and El Amin made a clutch shot also. Better team won. Great game.
What a great game this was...All year long it was Duke and Uconn #1 and #2 and they went into the tournament and merged to meet in the finals. Although the so called expert claimed Duke was unbeatable and predicted Duke to win if you looked back at the teams both teams had played Uconn had always won by a slightly larger margin...I predicted Uconns upset but It might of been just as much biased as logic....."We're gonna shock the world."
On paper that Duke team was by far better. Maybe one of the most talented College Basketball rosters ever. UCONN just happened to win against them on that night.
JZ2001JC Hardly. The fact of the matter is that UCONN actually was #1 for longer in that season then duke. Not to mention the huskies entered that game with only two losses on the season. It goes to show how very wrong they were giving this game a 9.5 spread. Duke may have been a bit better. Maybe. But Uconn was right there the entire season. This wasn't a any given night. If these teams played 10 times it'd be 50/50.
@@YoungLiam74 that 9.5 spread to me i was like they giving Uconn no respect and im a Duke fan and they used it as fuel and upset a very good Duke team. This was the one team i didnt want to play cause i knew they can bear Duke
@@phillymamba2791 This was the biggest upset in championship game history. We should be looking back at them as the last undefeated college team, Cincinnati beat Duke on luck in the Great Alaska Shootout. Langdon, Brand, Avery, Maggette, Carrawell, Battier. If they played UConn 100 times, they'd beat them 95 times.
@@RobbieStacks90 i dont know bout greatest upset in championship history but it was an upset . Villanova beating Georgetown in 1985 and NC State upsetting Houston aka Phi Slamma jamma in 1983 were greater upsets in championship history than Uconn Duke

Ricky Moore, incredible performance
ctdevil28 @ I remember this game Ricky Moore is a defence specialist but score 15 at half time
This is greatest championship game ever in ncaa basketball history and Coach Calhoun did a masterful job coaching this game

Dook was predicted to knock Yukon senseless in this game. This is why they play the game.
