Hello Swanson. Unfortunately, there were a lot of corners cut and it shows. It starts with the floor plan. Stintson makes pretty homes to look at but not usable for an ultra luxury buyer to live in. Why are the upper kids rooms more grand, spacious, & have tall ceilings than the master bedroom? Nobody wants an office next to the living room in upper bracket home, they want separation. Two separate living rooms in basement is layout flaw. used to fill space. Not continuing the same tile around the whole pool is just simply lazy. Exposed outlets for shades (not hard wiring) blows my mind. Master closet small and low end cabinets. The land is worth 500k and the build is no more that 3.5 cost to builder, maybe less including all the discounts they asked the subs to make while using this as a marketing home. Asking $7.5 is just an insult to buyers. I hope the realtor who reps the buyer on this overpriced house knows what they're doing. Typically a fan of your work, but on spec it is clear you made different decisions.
A lot of people put a lot of time, thought and effort into designing, building and furnishing this home and the result is absolutely beautiful. Just because a few things are not to your pedantic taste doesn't mean you have the right to crap all over it. So you cant afford the price - maybe it was not concieved with you in mind.
It feels like a church in a good way. I've been a fan of A shapes and frames for awhile now.
This was one of the nicest homes on the parade in my opinion, I really liked the lower level (edited)
I think you saw the wrong house, this is in deerhill preserve. nice to look at when you look past all the flaws
