@@traviswalker8933 Casio makes a fishing watch with moon phase to help predict when it's likely best to go fishing. I'm sure anyone can look up this info online as well. Should Casio stop making it then? People buy it! Heck, one might as well say don't bother buying a Casio and just keep your smartwatch on, as it tells time, right? Along with a lot more than Casio watches are capable of.
With that said, I think a lot of people would love to buy this watch seen in the video above, IF they know it exists. I would!

@@Northanteus a lot of Casio collectors know about this watch so it is not that obscure as it might seem. As for the tide graph and moonphase, they have integrated that functionality with a smartphone as seen with the PRT-B70 ProTrek.

@@traviswalker8933 I was meaning the general public (not just hardcore collectors, of which Casio would likely not make a new watch for, since that is very low numbers) who already like purchasing Casio watches, while knowing the capabilities of smart watches. We also know the limitations of smart watches: their battery life being very low and cannot be relied upon in emergency situations that could span weeks or more. Having both and using them to their strengths is what a smart person would do. 😉

Found this watch in my drawer in August 2021 where I placed it 20 years ago after wearing since 1990. Took off due to scratches. Replaced the battery, buffed the display and am wearing it again. Daily look at where earth is in our solar system. THANK YOU FOR POSTING.

I had one of these back in the UK when the comet was last seen, and I wore it all the time, up until I had it pulled off my arm at work, which destroyed the watch. I loved it so much that I got another one, (which cost a lot more than the original?) but have kept it in a drawer ever since for fear of getting in damaged.
It was a pity that Casio never made this again as it was a brilliant idea, and for all those budding star gazers, a must. But most smart watches these days can do much more now, so I can see the reasons why they don't continue these.
But I wish they would, as they were at one stage world leaders in the technical watch field, and this was one that knocked it out of the park. Great Review by the way, you covered everything about this watch, except on how to avoid scratches as it is a scratch magnet. Well done.

Although i never owned one, i Have loved this watch since late 80's - 1990 when i first saw it in an airport duty free watch seller. This and the Moon Graph have since remained in my heart. When seeing them in person as a kid, the curved screens on both models really stood out and made them seem even more special. It felt like it was the pinnacle of gadgetry (casio was the apple/samsung of the 80's to mid 90's i think - so often had the best gadgets - from calculator watches to game watches to to tv remote watches and other handheld and pocket electronic devices). Loved it then - love it now - loved it all the days in-between.

Yeah this is my favorite watch as a kid. I bought it when it first came out in '89. I then proceeded to completely destroy it. I rebought it about 2 years ago from ebay as NOS. It's completely unblemished even with the model number on the bezel. This is usually the first to go as u can see with your watch. I spent close to $500 on it. Originally it was $60-$70 I think. I put it in a large watch case and only take it out a few times a year. Had a chance to get another one that was absolutely perfect for around $400 but I couldn't justify the practicality of having 2. hahahah These are almost impossible to come by without spending close to $700-800 in NOS condition and even then...maybe once or twice a year. I wish I had the original box and manual for it. That would probably bring the value closer to $1000-$1200 for my watch.

My step dad gave me this watch in 96. I had no ideea back then about the planets animation, I thought it's just a gimmick but i still liked it. Lost it in the pool during swimming lessons becaue the belt strap rubber ripped away. I dove in the water and grabbed it back and wear it in my pants pocket after that. Sadly after few years my "best friend" at that time, stole it from me. We where around 16 years young kids, he got his girlfriend pregnant and needed money for abortion.
Never felt bad about the watch until recently.
My step father passed, funeral service employee gave me his wrist watch he was wearing before taking him away. It was a small cheap D&G broken watch that I thought it was fake.
After i saw what a cheap non functional watch he was wearing I fel bad and had depression for 1 month.

I really like to see CASIO stepping in the current Space X NASA Mars momentum by releasing some cool watches like this masterpiece. Elon, a word with Casio please..

It is a nice watch, but I prefer the stainless steel version (SGW-90) that has a leather strap. 😊
