I had one of these back in the UK when the comet was last seen, and I wore it all the time, up until I had it pulled off my arm at work, which destroyed the watch. Although i never owned one, i Have loved this watch since late 80's - 1990 when i first saw it in an airport duty free watch seller. This and the Moon Graph have since remained in my heart. When seeing them in person as a kid, the curved screens on both models really stood out and made them seem even more special. It felt like it was the pinnacle of gadgetry (casio was the apple/samsung of the 80's to mid 90's i think - so often had the best gadgets - from calculator watches to game watches to to tv remote watches and other handheld and pocket electronic devices). Loved it then - love it now - loved it all the days in-between.
The Casio Cosmo Phase was my dream watch as a kid. They are pretty much all collector's items by now. Good luck for getting your hand on this one or the Moon Phase watch for less than $500.
Had this in middle school, but I have no recollection of how I got it. When the alarm went off, the little Haley's Comet animation would go across the top screen. Eventually, it got so scratched, I switched to a G-Shock and tossed the Cosmo Phase in my desk. I just looked at ebay listings and am kicking myself for losing track of this watch.
Some people are trying to sell them for insane amounts. If you're patient you could get a good deal on them. That sucks though - I did the same thing with my Casio Golf Game watch! Bummer :)
I had one from 1991 to 1992, it was a great watch. The downfall it did not have any back light on it. Now it's time for them to come out with one that is a smart watch design. They could of also added the Wave Ceptor atomic clock technology since many Astronomers rely on accurate time.
