Well said I got a chance to meet Brian and Kelly at the meet up they had at the Roadrunner b l m a year and a half ago. They are some of the nicest down to earth people. What you see on his channel is not an act like some of the nomads.

The neglected fires are a problem that should be taught about in all schools.
I came across a campfire, at a vacant site, that lit back up in 20mph winds, right by a bunch of tall dry grass.
They were probably headed back home, 20 miles away.
    I put out the fire

Still don’t understand how people leave hot embers/wood in their rings before literally LEAVING it unattended.
This is why we see wildfires on the news so much now, people are careless.
Good to have people like you Brian.

I bought the two quart Hawkins years ago thanks to you Brian. I added a four quart stainless Hawkins a year ago for bigger meals. I'm sure you know this but for the viewers sake a tablespoon of any type of cooking oil poured on top of the water will help negate the foam inside forming and shooting out of the pressure valve. Thanks Brian!

Many of our camp hosts leave this weekend, some of those campgrounds close, some become self pay while we haul water tanks & golf carts to storage for the winter. We aren't done until Oct 18th so we will be glad to head for warmer pastures. It's been a great season, the hardest part is convincing guests that they still have to pay after Labor Day which was the way it was 20 years ago before the campgrounds got improved & concessionaires came into the scene. There are a lot of walk-ins after the campgrounds close so there are usually a lot of fire pits to clean in spring & the usual pile of ashes spooned onto the ground in those more heavily used off-season areas. We worry about wildfires, but the USFS has limited resources these days to patrol for random campfires left cooking. I have put out several fires this summer on way to some of my remote campgrounds that have 4x4 access only, the dispersed campers often assume the ashes will cool on their own, but often they bake for several days waiting for the correct velocity breeze to send those embers flying. I always have a 5 gallon pail with a lid for my remote duties. Next year I may go back to Hosting, maintenance is fun, but driving 250 miles per day is exhausting. Have a good winter! Cheers David & Sheila

I have a rice cooker that I cook EVERYTHING in except bread . I've seen youtube videos about cooking bread in the rice cooker but I just have not done that yet. But it cooks everything else I could ever want. It's fast, efficient and does a great job of steaming too if you have a steamer basket. Great little cooker (I have the smaller one.) Just plug it in, push the lever to cook and let it cook. It switches to WARM when it's done cooking but if you don't check on it, it will just stay on WARM until the food starts to burn. That's the only drawback. It doesn't turn itself off.

To help your pans work on induction, get a silicone cookie sheet that fits the top. It seems to even out the space between the pan bottom and the cooktop so it works better. Bonus,, it also protects the top from dents and scratches.

Thanks for the beautiful videography and summary of the season in CO. I'm happy for you that the experience was so good. It's too bad the pay was so low such that you'll have to find something different for next summer. You are a such a good worker perhaps they will create another position that suits your needs and pays decent money so you don't have to do the potato or salmon harvest. Stay safe and best of luck to you.
