It was paid by Chinese money. Then it is not the government but the strategic plan of the Chinese. And how much in dept is the Ethiopian state with another long distant rail line from the Chinese? Will it ever get paid back? Or assets taken if the state defaults?
I remember that the state rejected European money to revive the old railway. And did a marvelous job to do what they did. Seems to be a change of mind has taken place.
I am glad for the Ethiopian people to have such an asset. Future will show if you have made a contract with the devil and sold your soul.

One thing is coming to my mind. Have you seen Ethiopian commercial Bank(Golden) and Ethiopian postal main office????❤️❤️❤️
Those buildings are very beautiful and they were built 50 years ago. Believe me you are gonna love them.
They do not look like old buildings. See them and let's know. They are around that "lion with crown" .
Ask the lady about these two buildings. She will show you.
    💚💛❤️

Congratulations Ethiopia for having pull semblance of organized transport in Addis. Its really sad that developed cities like Nairobi is ruled by transport cartels who dispense a chaotic and dangerous transport in the heart of the most prosperous country in Eastern Africa
