    Being a long-time user of the SpinMop, Version 1, I have become accustomed to changing out the water often as to avoid soaking the mop head in extremely dirty water. That said, I did see a youtube video suggesting placing a small pail, filled with clean water, inside the existing Version 1 bucket, essentially converting the old spin bucket into a dual water version.

    • @TheCleanLoft
      @TheCleanLoft  8 месяцев назад +10

      for sure its good to dump the dirty water often as you mop. I disagree with that hack though mainly because the extra pail does not have an outlet to bring in fresh water like the new mop (blue bucket). So what happens when you come back to rinse your mop the second, third, 4th time, the water will already be dirty. So I would rather use the new model.

    Great review! Thank you! A $20 difference in these tough economic times for a brand new mop is pretty significant. It would have been nice if O-Cedar had an upgrade kit for the old mop version. I would easily pay $20 for an upgrade rather than buying a new version where every accessory I have doesn’t fit.

    • @TheCleanLoft
      @TheCleanLoft  Год назад +2

      I hear you and understand where you are coming from, an upgrade kit would be a good idea too. In case you missed this, for the accessories the extendable telescopic handle can be used on both mops. Thank you for the visit and for commenting. 😊

    I got the Rinseclean version and love it, so nice to have a single bucket and still use clean water constantly. I did my entire house without needing to fill the clean water again. After dipping it in the clean water I would try and shake off most of the water back into the clean water compartment and i only used the spin part to get rid of the dirty water after mopping each section

    I am deciding between these, I prefer the bigger mop head due to larger space. I will just use a separate bucket for soap.

If u have the older bucket system just got 99© store & get a small bucket you can place on other side of spin cycle with clean water then when you spin the dirty mop all the dirty water will go in ocedar bucket then use the other bucket with clean water to was floors. Hope this makes sense

      I do something like this... I bought the new version with the clean water tank but still use a separate bucket with water to rinse the dirty mop before using water from the clean water tank. Does that make sense? Anyway, I have tinted concrete floors and I'm just looking for a cleaning solution that won't streak. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. I've tried: vinegar, fabuloso, pine sol, ammonia, Mr. Clean, and bleach. No matter how clean the water is, the floor still streaks.

    Having wheels will make the stepping mechanism impossible to use. Unless you have wheels that you can lock in position. However, that will add size and bulk to the mop making it more difficult to store for those with limited space.

    I used to have a sponge mop and hated it. A friend has the original spin mop and I liked the idea of spinning the water out. When I went shopping I saw the new version; being able to rinse the mop in clean water every time is worth the extra money to me. The original version is too much like the sponge mop, swirling the dirt (and cat hair) back onto the mop head and back on the floor.

      I wouldn't recommend upgrading. The new mop head is so small and you use so much water with the new one. In theory it sounds good to have the dirty water drained out m, but I had to refill the bucket 4x to do my living room and kitchen which are not very big.

    If I understand correctly from Do It on a Dime lady (RUclips), Dollar Tree carries a simple trash pail that fits inside quite well so you can have clean water.

    • @TheCleanLoft
      @TheCleanLoft  9 месяцев назад

      I'm familiar with that hack, but I don't recommend it. The issue arises when you need to rinse the mop repeatedly-on the second, third, fourth, and subsequent times-since you'll end up rinsing with increasingly dirty water due to the lack of a proper outlet for the used water. If you're seeking a consistent supply of clean cleaning water, opting for this new model is a better choice.

    I used to use Swiffer but I bought one of these and not only do I find it cleans better, but it’s faster and much cheaper. The Swiffer pads and cleaning solution is the killer for Swiffer. The version I have is made by Vileda but it’s exactly the same as your O’Ceder models. I’m in Canada so maybe they have a different name here. I find it amazing and I’m encouraged to clean more often with it. It is so quick and easy to clean now.

      That's fantastic news! It's wonderful that you discovered an alternative cleaning tool that is more effective, faster, and cost-efficient compared to Swiffer. • @nyceguyatl
      @nyceguyatl 26 дней назад

      No, you aren’t missing anything. Everyone seems to be overly enthusiastic about this “hack” to put a bucket of clean water in the old Spin mop container but once you mop the floor, the mop is dirty and dipping it into clean water makes the bucket of water dirty. This has never been a hack; you may as well use the Spin mop container as it is. Unless you plan to change the bucket constantly or rinse your mop in the sink after each round of mopping (both are inconvenient), there is no real advantage to using a separate bucket.

    I just upgraded to the new model. I love not using the same water and just spreading dirty water everywhere. Although the new model is smaller. I rather work a bit harder to have a cleaner floor. If you have the old model? Upgrade…!!! If your deciding which one? Get the new model

      I do prefer the new model because It separates clean and dirty water.

    Clean water or not a dirty mop is a dirty mop

    Bought the new one. Not sure if I made the right call now.
    Still dipping a dirty head back into the detergent compartment. Now new water does come in and dilute it, so it is cleaner.
    Need to dip and spin in the detergent water, and then dip into detergent water again for mopping.
    So, it seems like: I'm wasting some detergent water when dip and spin.
    Awkward to fill.
    And it is not balanced when lift up the whole thing by the handle. If handle were other direction would help
    Awkward to empty the clean reservoir if you didn't use it all.
    Must use that one style of mop head.
    And I ran out of water before I was done. 6 to 7 quarts maybe.
    I saw an idea with the old one: just put a bucket inside the old one.that separates it.
    ...
    An extra bucket even w this would maybe help
    Again, this is small area use if don't want to empty and refill.
    Fill this new one w just water for rinsing.
    Have a side bucket with solution.
    Dip into solution (side bucket) lightly, or dip and spin.
    Mop
    Dip into rinsing (o cedar ) and spin. That rinsing water will stay cleaner as it refills. Maybe do this twice to keep head clean.
    Back to solution bucket and repeat.
    May still be a good idea to go over again w clean water.
    Use up the water in the o cedar, or dump solution bucket and put clean water in it.
    May need to empty the main buckets dirty compartment.

      Be careful mixing bleach with other products though. The chemical reaction may not be good.
