I'm a house cleaner so I little tip so you don't run out of water so fast... when you put your mop in to get it wet when you pull it up before spinning it let the water drain off a bit so it's not dripping wet before spinning it. You save on water big time!!

Yeah I was wondering about that I think it would be a benefit if they would put two spinners in there so that when you dip your cleaned mop into the fresh water you could spin that water off right back into the clean water instead of into the dirty water cuz you're just wasting I don't see why they couldn't put spinners on both parts

I have used the spin mop for a couple of years now, and only thought briefly about putting the dirty mop into the clean water and spinning the water out to continue cleaning my ceramic tile. My tile, by the way, is colored so that if it IS dirty, it doesn't look dirty (if that makes sense). I saw this video and thought, damn, I'm just mopping my floor with dirty water. So I used the 2 bucket system and I can't believe how much cleaner my floor looks!! I bought extra mop heads, so I won't be buying the new system. • @antsmith3284

That's most likely because you weren't mopping correctly. You should first be laying down a layer of clean mop water with or without a solution. You will then go back over the wet floor to pick up the dirty water. Your water should not get that dirty unless you're immediately picking up the dirty water and putting it into the clean water.

I do the two bucket trick as well. I have a utility/painters bucket that has a flat side. Fits into the o cedar bucket perfectly. Depending on the size of the area you are mopping, you can keep a pitcher of hot water close by to do a spin rinse before you dunk your mop back into the solution. It’s a good system. The original one. For a homeowner, it works great.

Isn't that how the 2 bucket system works?
Soak mop in clean water with solution.

Put mop into extra bucket with clean water.
      Spin.
Put mop into clean water with solution.

      Repeat.

    • @Jade10122
      @Jade10122 2 года назад +2

@@CinHalCedHerChance the ocedar bucket catches the spin off. When you first use the mop, the mop gets grimy. Instead of dunking a dirty mop back into the solution bucket, people give it a rinse, a spin, then mop again. The solution water stays “cleaner” and doesn’t get as contaminated from dunking a dirty mop into it after swiping it around on the floor. The two bucket system is great. You get more life out of your cleaning solution.

Yeees !!... someone who hacked the new epensive system like I did... The only difference is I found a cheap dollar store bucket that fit inside the spin bucket (one that does not quite touches the bottom of the spin bucket) I poked a few holes in the thin dollar store bucket to make a slow leak so that some of the dirty water drips down when the mop goes in for more water... I use half a bucket of water at a time and add water to the dollar store bucket as needed. Its good for about a bucket and a half before having to empty the dirty water.. This hack has minimized mopping with dirty water and Im not stuck with 2 expensive mopping systems. Im so glad you gave your opinion and hacked this! We pay so much for mopping systems that maybe we really dont need to... thanks

Lol before I had a bucket from target and a mop from ross ... lasted 6 months and still going ... I would put hot boiling water with pinesol and a splash of ariel liquid detergent.. mop a section , then the mop to the tub and rinse out the mop with the hottest water that comes out of my tub faucet, and then with my clean rinsed mop put it back in the mop water and back and forth and back forth .... it was alot of work . I rinse the mop head under the faucet and ring it out before I put it back into the mopping solution (white vinegar, a little soap, and hot water.) I much prefer the traditional "deck mob" made with cotton fiber because the "hip" at the top of the mop provides a very sturdy area to use to scrub up tough spots (e.g. spilled & dried spaghetti sauce or drips of oil that have collected dirt.) The more flimsy new mops have a hard plastic top with is useless for scrubbing spots that need a little extra oomph.

I agree, but my 10 year olds struggle with the twist mops and they need to learn to mops. I'm 39 and have never not used a trad cotton mops. I hate the plastic on these. I use that cotton ball at the top of regular mops to clean baseboards and walls. With this kind of mop, you have to use the same surface you're using on the floor on that wall... which feels like I'm making it dirtier.

So I went down to Home Depot and bought the O'cedar Rinse Clean mop. I want more water on the concreate floor for this job. So I will not be wringing the clean water out of the mop before I start mopping. I will put some cleaner in the clean water to cut through what I need to mop through. I'll let the soapy clean water sit on the concrete for a few minutes before I do a strong mopping. I watched a few videos on this because I needed to learn how to fill it properly. I'm all set to go. We used them in a warehouse and found that they really didn't hold up well at all. We switched to only kitchen and bathroom use for which they are great. The mopheads kept popping off after washing them in a machine washer because they lost the secure attachment to the mop head. The actual mop handle isn't super sturdy either, and one broke. Lastly, the bucket foot level kept breaking and we would have to buy another one. It just wasn't meant for that type of surface area, level of grime, or frequency of use. I have one at my home though, and it is great for the day to day home cleaning.

The dirty bucket can hold a ton of volume, more so than the clean bin.
For quick cleans I just fill the main bucket with my solution mix, then open the red tab so that it fills half back into the resovoir and then close it again. Filling from the little hole can be tedious.
You can fill both the open resovoir AND the inner container right off the bat as well. So after doing the above, I just top both off for larger cleans.

Extremely helpful, one observation and not sure if already commented - the old system final water being darker tho same floor cleaned makes sense since in the blue system it’s getting filled with unused water each time wrung. Thank you!!

I did the same, just added a 2nd bucket. I had just talked myself into buying the original system then the 2nd came out. Works great

Absolutely agree. The old system is better I mopped my entire kitchen and dining room floors with the old spin bucket and mop set. I washed the floors 3x at first til the water poured out clear and I knew my floors were clean.
I love my spin mop. O Cedar is my favorite because I don’t have to wring it out by hand and The squeeze mops don’t really work well.
    Hot water is key ❤
I washed my floor with hot water and dawn dish soap ❤ my favorite ❤️

I personally found the best way to mop (I have several pets) is similar to washing a car; presoak (especially in the kitchen), wipe, and follow with a 2 bucket system (warm rinse water and warm soapy water) to finish it off. You can go in and mop again for a deep clean and polish it off afterwards, but I avoid polish due to it building up in low traffic areas. I find it much more efficient and cost effective than mopping as with the normal method as I'd have to exchange the water up to a dozen times rather than filling up 2-3 buckets, plus the idea of spreading bathroom gunk to the rest of the house freaked me out.

I’ve had the spin mop for like idk 8 yrs or so. I’ve been using a second bucket for years but I started using 2 extra buckets. I bought the new one because I needed a new mop handle. This will be awesome for me. The reservoir will hold my rinse water and my second bucket will hold my clean water with solution in it. I love it

I'm curious (& confused) about the difference in the dirty water comparison when you poured them out. Wouldn't it mean that the new system doesn't clean as well if the dirty water that dumped out was "cleaner" looking than the dirty water from the original system? I would think that both systems should have the same dirty water, one shouldn't be cleaner than the other, unless it's not actually cleaning as well. My husband just bought the new system and it seems a bit pointless that you are just putting a dirty mop into the clean water side. I get that you can spin some of the mess from the floor into the dirty side, but not much considering the mop head was already spun/wrung out before using it on the dirty floor. They really should have come up with a 3 chamber system so the dirty mop head could be "rinsed" then spun and then placed in the clean water side. Or maybe I'm overthinking it.

This! I completely agree. Unless there are 3 chambers, so the mop can actually be rinsed in between, it seems pointless to me. I just mop the regular way, with the original, and change out the water when it starts to look dirty. I’m not eating off the floor, so it is good enough. 🤷‍♀️

She should have shown the color of the water from the clean water reservoir, since a dirty mop kept getting dipped into it.

Honestly what works for me is Scott brite mop that comes removable cloths And I buy a bunch so I use one new per room so I have to worry about mopping with dirty water or dirty mop. Then finish with a steam mop bcuz I never knew how much dirt is left behind even when I was mopping with hot water.

This was very instructive. Am considering the new RinseClean spin mop system, but I think I'll wait until they enlarge/improve the spin side mechanism. This has been a pretty common observation/complaint on Instagram and RUclips reviews, so I figure they'll address it soon. I wish they had a more convenient filling system that didn't require a dead lift of 12 pounds of water😂. Maybe an optional detachable fill hose of some sort?

Just cut a used hose long enough to go from sink faucet to the bucket on the floor....easy peasy.

When you compared the two water samples from both systems, you should have done it w/o any cleaning solution to get a vivid idea of what the water looks like reusing the "dirtier" water.

This was GREAT! I almost bought the new & improved one, even though I have the original. Your tip at the end was perfect. However, I got confused in the beginning because 1) you were talking really fast & 2) your demos of taking the mop from one side to the other were slightly choppy to show your step-by-step actions in order. But overall, I was well informed as to what I needed by the end.

Probably best to add tiny amounts of cleaning solution into the open air part of the blue bucket instead of into the closed part of the blue bucket if we want to avoid issues trying to dry/ foam

I just use my original o’cedar mop I bought about May 2022 and the water doesn’t get that dirty. When I clean the grout I use Simple Green and a grout brush from Amazon. I do change the water about five times because I want my grout to be white.
