    THANK YOU!! I have to admit, I don't know how to mop. Every video I watched, they only showed dipping it in the solution, wringing it out, and then mopping. I didn't know what you did after you mopped the dirty floor. I was getting so aggravated trying to find a video that shows THE WHOLE PROCESS.
    You did it and explained it while you were doing it! So after you mop the dirty floor, you wring it out again and THEN dip it in the cleaning solution. THANK YOU!!!

    I think you only fill the one clean compartment with enough water to wet the mop, spin, mop area. Then fill clean compartment with some water, soak mop, then spin. (that will rinse out mop more so than just spinning directly after mopping). You could then fill clean compartment with a little water again to clean area, or use to soak mop and spin to rinse mop again.
    I don’t know if that makes sense, it’s like an extra step where, after mopping, you use just enough clean water to soak dirty mop. When you spin more dirt should be expelled with the additional water. If you repeat that step it seems you could get mop pretty clean before using on floor. Otherwise it would make sense to get the older version that is just the bucket and the spinner.
    I haven’t used this mop but was interested because I like the idea of clean water being separated. However, I have found no video that instructs you to use mop with steps I’ve suggested.

    I like this system but the clean water tank is very small and when you introduce the mop into the water it could spill if you are not careful. I could tell that you put very little water in the tank because only then will it not spill. for me it is not enough water. In any case, I appreciate the information and the great demonstration that you gave us.

    • @JamesFixIt

    Looks like it is a lot of trouble with the dual chambers. Why not use the old model and put a bucket or small waste basket in the empty side of old version and keep water separate? Seems like it would be easier dumping out used water too and not as heavy and cumbersome.

  • @trinket2fine
    @trinket2fine 10 месяцев назад +2

    I bought this product and tried it. But I prefer the old O-Cedar. Once you wring out the clean water and mop the floor there is no water left to wring into the dirty water, so one ends up contaminating the clean water anyway. Plus the mop head (red plastic part) is smaller than the old one and it does work well when applying pressure to scrub off extra dirty places. It flops over and is a PITA.

    • @JamesFixIt
      @JamesFixIt  10 месяцев назад

      I have not used the original version, but I have heard about the reduced mop size; kind of unfortunate, as this is their premium version.
      I started to wring out less of the clean water before mopping, which helps to accumulate more dirt, keeping the mop head heavier, and then allows you to spin out more dirt and water after.

    I just bought one, and I have these little rubber inserts that are coming out of either the mop itself or the agitator. Have you run into this problem? I wish I could take a picture and send to you. I just bought it yesterday from Home Depot and maybe falling apart!

      @JamesFixIt  Год назад

    • @billeagle51
      @billeagle51 Год назад +2

      @@JamesFixIt No worries James! They are little rubber stoppers (if you call them that) that go below the bucket, so as not to move when you pedal the agitator, so the bucket won't slide around the floor. Mine, I guess just came off. I studied that contraption for days tying to figure where those rubber do dats came from. Thanks for the reply. But they shouldn't have come off that way!

    I wish there could be one more improvement on how to rinse off the mop head in between floor passes. What if there is a very dirty floor? All we can do is do the spinning motion before dunking it into the clean water... but the mop head isn't entirely clean at this point, so we are smearing and spreading dirt/gunk around when we place it onto the floor again. Do you know what I mean?

    This mop bucket is very frustrating. The spin basket is way smaller than the original spin mop from O'Cedar. I found myself having to force the mop into the spinner with my hand before spinning it. You can even see in this video how the mop doesn't spin easily because the entire mop head doesn't easily fit in the spinner. I ordered a mop called Tovar's Easy Cleaning instead. It has a split mop bucket design.

    Am I missing something? The water is clean only ONCE. The minute you introduce the dirty mop into the water, it is then dirty. This is NO different than the regular one. Think about it. It's the same thing. The water still gets dirty. This is just a gimmick.

    • @JamesFixIt
      @JamesFixIt  Год назад +5

      After mopping, the spin action will expel most of the dirty water into the lower chamber, before dipping it into the clean chamber. Not 100%, but it does significantly help to keep your water clean vs dipping into the exact same dirty water.

    • @gamepro9505
      @gamepro9505 7 месяцев назад +3

      The clean water tank never gets contaminated. The red tab allows clean water to enter the small chamber which you can dip the mop head into that, wring it out, then you can allow more clean water to go into the small chamber and dip again. This will help remove dirt as much as possible.

    • @ashleykennedy2136

      I think you only fill the one clean compartment with enough water to wet the mop, spin, mop area. Then fill clean compartment with some water, soak mop, then spin. (that will rinse out mop more so than just spinning directly after mopping). You could then fill clean compartment with a little water again to clean area, or use to soak mop and spin to rinse mop again.
