Knowing Angelina's background, I'm sure Aretha was a big inspiration for her, and you can see the sadness in her eyes as she delivers this beautiful arrangement. Some may also miss this, but she also faded out and left a short moment of silence for Aretha at the end of the video. The fact that she did this at 12 years old.... it amazes me every time I watch this video.

Regarding your comments on the sincerity Angelina puts into this song-I’ve felt for a couple years now that Angelina is the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve ever heard. She doesn’t throw away any words. You can watch some singers and you know they’re building up to the big note or the next big run, but every word is a musical choice for Angelina. If you haven’t heard Angelina’s covers of Adele, that would be a great next reaction. Try Someone Like You or A Million Years Ago to see vocals that eclipse the originals-and I say that as an Adele fan. They are amazing performances that show that Angelina is another league.
I agree with you. She didn't try to sing the song with such power and range like Aretha Franklin. Her interpretation was singing "Natural Woman" with her own simpler beauty and she succeeded. Good cover version of this classic song

Nice choice and a wonderful reaction, Dani, the feeling you get when you undergo therapy with Angelina is that of abstraction from reality, go somewhere else she suggests ... 😁😍 Even this tribute Angelina does it in her own way, with a lot of respect for one of her myths, with hers low tones and slowed music, absolutely not in competition with Aretha's voice, but in homage to her. She recorded it a few days after she passed away. They are expressive and emotional forms that in a 12 year old girl are absolutely incredible, including the voice that goes out and fades into black, she is a real magical girl.
The art of singing powerfully without power, I feel, has been lost to most of the modern 'belters' of today. Sometimes you need to give kudos to the lyrics and let their meaning breathe without unnecessary volume and runs. Angelina has done justice to this beautifully written song here.

This wasn't just a cover. It was a tribute she recorded just a few days after aaretha passed away. I think that's why she kept it rythmically the same but much lower as Areyha always went big with it? This was so repsectful to the original and still being true to herself. I was a security guard at one of her concerts in Norway in the summer of 2019. My job was to escort her to the stage and back + at the booth where she was signings CDs and merch. There was one creepy old guy that she told me I had to keep an eye on. He had traveled from another country and was always attending. Sometimes he would try to grab her, so had to keep him distant. I remember she was very shy and didnt say much. Her mother did most of the talking.

It's an original about the loss of her maternal Grandfather in 2018, although she said it's for anyone who has lost a loved one.
