My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano 😃)
The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo 😏

In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").

Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became one of the youngest ever vocalists to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 18, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records when she was 14. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may makes many people emotional. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing a special bond.

Nice reaction Birdman! Angelina's Grandma, Mery Zamani, helped produced this. She used the same store (Melrose Gallery in L.A.) she used for her My Funny Valentine and I Have Nothing videos. Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, Aires and Athena. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. What a performance and homage to The King!
I learned of Angelina Jordan 4.5 years ago and I still get goosebumps EVERY time. Her voice has a positive physical effect on me. She captivates from the first note, then her rich, soulful voice takes me on a journey through the story of the song. The only things which exceed her musical talents are her humility and persistent message of kindness and love.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins".
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. 1. Gloomy Sunday, her 2013 audition to Norway's Got Talent, when she was 7, which was aired in 2014 and then immediatly went viral.
2. Fly Me to the Moon, live on The View, was her US debut later in 2014, and also went viral. It gathered more than 37 Million views on RUclips, and many more on Facebook.
3. I Put a Spell On You, the song where Screamin' Jay Hawkins got his nickname from, has 11 Million Views so far. Her cover is closer to his original than most well known covers of it. She was 9 years old here.
4. Feeling Good, in a version sung on TV in 2016 while still being 10 years old, though she already started to perform the song in public about a year earlier.

In his reaction to "You Say" by Lauren Daigle about 2 weeks ago, at about 9:06, he said "Alice informed me that we actually done this song but it was a cover by Angelina Jordan on a live stream just didn't record it", and a few seconds after that, he said "And Angelina Jordan she's phenomenal too". I think he may watch AJ's Christmas concert live stream.
