    I have a ‘73 deluxe, and it’s hands-down one of the best sounding (and playing) guitars I’ve played/owned. The Seth Lover pickups are really a thing of beauty. The reissues are not the same pickup style - don’t be fooled, pay the extra and find an original. Love the playing on this also.

      So you'd recommend the Deluxe over the Custom...anything to look for when buying used and not able to play it??

      Sure! That was one of the difference with the original Telecaster. The belly cut as well, was part of the difference there...

    can't stand these pick-ups. i swopped mine out for di marzio . sounds great !!!

      Where yours the original 70s? The Japanese and American modern ones (up until very recently) where completely different than the orig 70s. Looked similar, but that's it.
