WHY
Very good
No phones. Only people who enjoy the concert and are happy to be there at that given moment. PLEASE, TAKE ME BACK.
ikr! The world going down the drain :(
THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH USING PHONES AT CONCERTS.
You lose the moment.. your mind is in the wrong place... that's what's wrong.
That's because video phones were only starting in 2001 🙄
@@elad1962 /facepalm
Iconic. Their absolute best song .
Still listening to REM in 2024 and always. They're fantastic! Great song too! 🎵
Love ❤️ the song and bravery!

It must be so satisfying to see a whole generation who were not born when you released a song all dancing and singing to you tune.
👏👏👏2024‼️‼️‼️✅

R.E.M. is the most British looking American band ever
I though was the Killers or interpol.
That voice, that song!!!😊
I will never leave my 90s music ever!!!!!
One of my favorite songs. Great music.
I left the UK for Bangkok in 1991, this song was played in every pub, club and bar during my first few years there. Brings back some great memories.
BUT HORRIBLE MUSIC
@@kennethstewart2546 How is it horrible music??? I believe that statement!🙄
@@kennethstewart2546 Then why are you here listening and even bothering to comment if you think it's horrible?? Serious question

Fortunate to spend some time in London in the early seventies, loved being in London, loved being young, thank you England for the love you showed this yank, especially all the students at Whitelands College of Education.
You are very welcome 🙏
Our transatlantic cousins matter.
It only took 3 chords and the crowd went wild...they knew exactly what was coming ...it was definitely my favorite song back then.
This crowd was incredible. They went insane when they heard the first mandolin chords. Adds such a great element to the video.
notes not chords noobs...and it was 5 of them...
Love this
❤❤❤Love R.E.M and that's my favorite song .Thank you for share ..❤

No cellphones? Perfect concert.
God I miss R.E.M.
Not widespread yet I think I got my first around then but it wasn’t a smartphone and that’s a problem. I’m a fan of locked off areas where you can store your phone.
No One misses rem
I loved REM ❤
@@r3tr0actiongamer24probably the thousands of people at that concert miss REM 😂
Michael Stipe has a great voice and writes lyrics with the best of them. But I enjoy his stage presence more than anything. Too cool. Also the mandolin.
2024 höre ich immer noch mega gerne zu❤ eine tolle Zeit
I’m a french girl so excuse me for my bad english. When I heard this song for the first time I was 17 years old. Now the magistral song is still so magic !
Your English is wonderful. You just mean magisterial not magistral.

I was one of the incredibly lucky people fortunate to be there and the atmosphere was magical. Just amazing.

Marley Park 2003 Dublin. 3rd and BEST time of the 3. What a night!
The Song has a dark painful melody and words, filled with story of his life in stuck in limbo between the love his life, God and him self alone in the corner ...
This song is a classic for all the times…❤️
I cannot tell if this song is happy or sad, but it always hits so hard.
Oh life is bigger, every whisper says this is a Classic. I,ve said too much. More than just a dream. That's me in the spotlight playing this brilliant song.
Love this song
Best little big band in the world ever
Isn't he so beautiful? The way he moves, his mimics etc. Perfect!
Cagatay Cakiroglu amaizing
yes he is
That's our Michael!

Oh my god, I can’t believe how excited the crowd was...!!!!! And boy Michael sure revelled in the excitement. As they begin to play, the crowd erupts and Michael looks over to Mike Mills with a huge grin on face. They certainly gave it their all and the crowd just couldn’t get enough of it. A standout performance from everyone that night, including the audience. It just doesn’t get any better than that. The finest performance ever..!!!!!!!!!
Deb Jones Agree the energy is still here.
I was there. On the ride home, barely a word was spoken by anyone. All you saw and felt where smiles and warmth. It was spectacular. Thank you for the memories guys. We love you.
That's what you get from a London crowd - best in the world.
@@thabomatebane9153 Lucky you, my friend!!😄

I want this song played at my funeral.
I'll sue you if you die before me!
Music that holds up. The definition of classic..timeless. Michael Stipe-one of the great front men in rock.
You can tell that Stipe appreciates the crowd and gives it all. Great job REM
In 2019 this is still one of the best songs in the XX century!!! REM rocks!
Their best song!!!!
They could turn up next week and just play there back catalogue and I would still wait in line for tickets brilliant
Not in Trafalgar Square. This would probably insult people in 2024. Stupid country we live in now.
2024 and still strong woohoo!!
I saw this at Old Trafford years ago. I went mental. My mates could not believe my reaction but this and "Everybody hurts" got me through a bad period
The roar of the crowd is what musicians dream of. You could feel the energy and the connection. That reaction awesome to watch. What a great moment to capture.
The bass sounds f*cking great!
Have to agree! Mike Mills also brings essential lyrics to the song

Love REM🥰🥰🥰 One Of My First Concerts in Athens Ga🥳🥳😘
He completely puts himself into his music.
No cellphones? Perfect concert.
How is that a perfect concert?
Because they annoy the HELL out of people. The flashing light is so so distracting. I was at Brian Adams in 2016 and it was atrocious. 2 months later at Don Henley and it was signposted, 'ALL Mobile Phones switched OFF or you will be asked to leave.' Pitch dark, amazing. 10 mins before the end he said to everyone they could switch their 'gadgets' on and finished with Hotel California & Desperado. Set the pace for concerts in 3Arena, Dublin.
Well.. It's 2001.. Those ho had cellphones used it for calling someone.. not taking pictures...
Well let's hope that the phone ban at concerts takes hold and we can enjoy the gig with no distractions.
Nope. Only watch videos on my TV and my PC. My Nokia C5 won't play them.
Oh life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper, of every waking hour
I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this the slip
That brought me to my knees, failed
What if all these fantasies come
Flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
Try, cry, fly, try
That was just a dream
Just a dream
Just a dream, dream

One of the great rock bands, one of the great rock songs.
This is absolutely fantastic
A fantastic version of
one of the best songs ever written
I LOVE R.E.M. SUPER!
Love these live versions when the crowd goes ballistic. I've never performed in a band but have to think that just amps you up as a performer. Knowing the fans paid their hard-earned money for you to do this one four minute song. I have to think it would make you want to just belt it out and give them everything you have. Stipe sure sings it like that - the man was born to do this.
Broken souls anthem ...💔💔
I am a mandolin player, bluegrass primarily but have to learn this song. Almost perfect if there is such a thing. Bravo
That moment when the beat starts and the crowd starts jumping!!.. Incredible energy!!!..
The voice the best what times were had
One of my all time favorites. This performance gives me chills. It will be replayed for decades to come.
Hello So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
«Losing My Religion» (рус. «Теряю свою веру») - песня американской рок-группы R.E.M., выпущенная в качестве основного сингла их альбома «Out of Time» в 1991 году.
Love R.E.M. LOVE THIS SONG ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
