You can't beat this. Jagger is king of the stage
Jagger the greatest rock n roll front man of the 20th century
I recommend everyone watches this before you start your day. Life is a blessing and music is a gift...enjoy.
I am an old guy, 63, and I totally agree that fergie is an incredible talent. Amazing voice and her performance on this track sensational. We need to merge the old and new all of the time to move things on. Brilliant
Hey man you aren't old, because I'm 57 yo and I'm very young!! 🤣
I'm 61 and
You Sir are so very Right! Fergie and "the boys/Goat" shall go down in History as The Best!
No baby as much as we like covers by others Lisa Fisher completely and utterly awesome different agenda altogether! She's the one♥️
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER!! Now u throw in U2, FERGIE, and Then MICK comes in..STRUTTIN!! C'MON!!! THATS WHY WE LOVE YOU TUBE...
The absolute greatest entrance by the world's greatest frontman!
Mick Jagger just stole the show he would put men half his age to shame with his vitality and movement he is just a magnificent showman and a British all time great tremendous stuff.
Every time I watch this I get chills when mick walks out
I get more when Fergie backs him down
Right???
Best frontman ever = Jagger

Mick's Entrance made me goosebumps...The greatest presence in the history.
Bono didn’t lie when he said let’s do something special.
U2 and Fergie and Will already got me but to have Mick Jagger come perform with everyone is real rock music magic.
Bravo everyone. That was groovy and awesome.
The horniest man alive to hit the stage. Every time is like his first time. He just can't wait to go live!
Did you mean to say the horniest woman alive 😂
Fergie Paid great Homage to Miss Merry Clayton! The original Female Voice on Gimme Shelter!
who lost her baby inside her when singing this song. The stress on her body led to a stillbirth. She never had a baby as a result. Ever.
She did a great job!! She's beautiful!
@@Waitukubuli What?? I never knew this!
@@Waitukubuli I fully believe you that she lost her baby. My heart is broken for her. But which doctor actually diagnosed it was because of singing this song? That seems like a far, far, far reach. (yes I understand you said stress from singing the song)
@@Waitukubuli lay off the crack pipe gronk 😜
Mick is still the coolest man in the room
Yessss, man 😎
The GOAT of all rock stars....
Well, he’s definitely cool enough to know better than to sing “Gimme Shelter” like it’s a Sondheim standard.
Bono? Not so much.
Because when Edge and Bono hit the dual guitars, this had a TON of promise.
Fergie did a WONDERFUL job trying to get the thing back on track, but the horse had already left the barn.
When Jagger enters the stage it feels exactly like Federer entering the Central Court or Messi entering the Camp Nou. You know immediately who the GOAT is. Even these seasoned celebrities like U2 or Fergie simply fade into the background.
You know you are in the presence of greatness when U2 become the backing band......
My thoughts exactly.
U2 put there time in..there not seasoned Celebrities
Fergie calls Jagger’s moves and raises the ante!
When Mick hits the stage its pure & simple "there folks...is THEE Rock star...the end"
This version really captures the dark intensity of this song - the Edge's solo is so piercing and haunting.
Whaouh, the Stones with U2 sound and Fergie's voice !!! Huge
But if you want to see another version of this song, please find the live of Shaka Ponk and Detroit on youtube. You will not desappointed, I promise: Samaha, the French girl singer of Shaka is even much better than Fergie.
Such a fantastic performance. Mick's and Fergie's stage craft is just so superb in this.
!!
Everytime I watch this it blows me away ...fergie is awesome..my fav stones song x
Fergie so strong and dominant. The haunting music of Richards & Jagger and the guitar of The Edge... great performance!
Wooooo! I totally agree❤️
Love fergie
@@claudinewilliamson1150 I thought Fergi did a good job.
whooo! that girl can sing!.............gave me goose bumps. whole song was awesome by all
If U2 is your supporting band, and Bono is your back singer...you are legend!
Bono is an a$$hole
Mick is a legend!!
Verdade!!
So true
When Fergie came to the front to do her bit, there was a drastic increase in the energy level; and that takes a whole new meaning when Bono and Mick Jagger are on the stage. This was mighty by Fergie. Love it! Due credit to Mick and Bono for the perfect build up and for sharing the stage with Fergie and giving her the space to own it. Bravo.
Love watching this! I agree Fergie! Fantastic voice but I'm a massive fan of everyone on the stage! I can watch this over and over again 💕 love it😎
Energia de jovem passando para homens ja maia velhos mais q nao perdem sua vitalidade ❤
Fergie & Mick wailing the lyrics. YES.
Mick never fails to light a fire under whatever he sings..burn baby burn..🇨🇦..
amazing when jagger is coming on stage
Bono: Crowd sleeps
Will.i.am: Sleeping
Fergie: Sleeping
Sir Mick: Crowd loses their shit
Jagger and Fergie - real rockin‘ live animals. Amazing! What a performance! Iconic!
I've been a Stones fan since the early 1960s. They got back into gear in 68 and 69 after a messy 1967, and this remains one of their greatest songs. I also think this is the best ever 'live' version.
Goosebumps, I'll never forget this song coming to a close right as they opened the door of my plane after landing in Afghanistan.
One of the best versions of this song--and that's saying a lot!!
The Edge = FANTASTIC!!! 🌟👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Mick Is The best Showman ever . He Is Mr Rock'n'roll
Irish, British, American showing the world the power of music to come together AMAZING
A seriously smoking ass performance. The Edge’s guitar fits the song perfectly, Fergie nails the great Merry Clayton’s original vocal, and of course Bono + Mick Jagger, fuck yeah!
No. He relies waaaay to much on effects pedals.
Please. Fergie doesn't come close to Merry Clayton's original vocals. She's a pale imitation.
Fergie stole the show
Best Stones song EVER!!! And U2 giving it bit of Irish spin is delightful. And Fergie, well, nuff said.
These guys are legend and Fergie is certainly holding her own on stage: respect! And I love the friendly harmony that just radiates from the performance. Very U2
Agree. I would venture to say Fergie stole the show as Mick & Bono cannot hit the high notes like they use to!!
holding her own? she fucking schooled them. Mick who?
@@lauriewood554 well, if you listing good you notice that she doesnt hit the right notes. I would have a bit more respect for Mick and U2 and Mick is owning the stage. Fergie is a popsinger who likes to join the real rockartists but would never be able to do that what they accomplished.
@@Artiestenstal I "listened good" and she sounded pretty bang on to me.
She holds her own with Merry Clayton...and that is no faint praise! 😇
What can you say about Fergie's backing vocals in the beginning.
When Mick walks on stage it shows his greatness.
She's beautiful and talented and amazing!!
I just watched this amazing video, and without a doubt, it blew me away! The guitars provide the main theme but with a unique eerieness that U2 is known for. And Fergie and Mick Jagger have great synergy! Indeed, this performance is a real gem!
I love 💕 this performance. The eerie guitar from The Edge, the vocals from all the singers. The breakdown with the cool rock and roll guitar chorus. The original is one of the greatest... And they figured out how to take it even further. It sends electricity straight to my soul.
I was there-so powerful! Still gives me chills whenever I hear this song!
Hell of a performance!
Their performance Blew the doors off.!!!
I prefer other covers of this classic song... but hold F*** did Fergie absolutely nail her part!
Holy*
All you young guys practising in Mum and Dad's garage, take notice of this
performance! A really great band being joined in an eye-popping performance
by the lovely Fergie, Will.I.Am and the greatest rock n' roll frontman of all time.
Keep practising, as this sort of stuff can't be learnt overnight!
Mick always have his incredible energy.
Superb version! Can't stop watching it.
MICK JAGGER is the only long haired men artists on this show. its just like 1965. ROLLING STONES FOREVER THE GREATEST ROCK ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD.
rochebraziliano wooooooooooooooooo yah
Hair Piece
One of my favorite renditions of this song and it's Fergie that blows it out of the park. ❤
not bad for a council estate slapper
@@smudgersplace Totally agree. Looks good considering she was married to Prince Andrew all those years
Old farts have enough money
And U2
Y'all making me laugh and I thank you.
It probably won't sound particularly original, but for me, this (studio version) is the best rock 'n' roll song ever written.
For sure, but this aint rock at all
@Andrew 80 - Absolutely.
No doubt
The studio version.. yes.
For anybody who has never heard gimme shelter, record 50 years ago, original, in the studio 1969... eerie. Enchanting. Edgy. Amazing.
amens
This is talent that will last forever I hope.
Mick and Fergie are spectacular! u2 amazing as usual! Oh my, the Rolling Stones are the greatest!
Incredible version, love the Edge guitar touch and fergie voice is great!
Incredible, she rocks
Mick is cool and an icon. This is a great rendition of gimme shelter with some amazing guest talent who are accomplished in their own realm.
Well… speechless… when Mick comes on stage the whole feel just completely changes! Best front man EVER‼️Fergie absolutely fantastic! Loved this ❤
Brilliant isn't Mick old enough to be Fergie 's dad? Grandad? 💕😜🤗😎
3:36 Luv the way Fergie sings "Children"
This is the best sounding post and best video as well .
@Benny Breeze - Agreed.
U2 are my fave band ever and this song is the greatest rock track ever recorded - brilliant
Michael Day
Except it’s not their song.
@@amedeodangelo549 We all know it's not their song. That's why they invited Mick, Ferggie, Springsteen and the amazing songwriter Patty Smith.
Magic happens when we let go of our ego's and fears and stand together. Just as in this performance for instance. And yes, Ferggie was and is great, as well as everybody else all onstage. They all made this unforgettable. Less hate please. Haven't we had enough of that yet?
Thank you.
greatest version of all time "so relevant 50 years later"
Fergie deu um show!
Que voz incrível !
Mick Jagger é um monstro na interpretação.
Now this is called enjoying music...playing music and enjoying every moment of it even at this age...There isn't gonna be any musicians like the ones from that generation :(
Don't get any better !😊
Every time I watch this video I get chills... BRAVO
At 3:42 Fergie steals Mick’s song from him. I didn’t think that was possible. Respect!
Woow super cool combination of Mick Jagger and U2 true music legends.
Well I'm 67, n this is a very good, I mean excellent rendition of One of the most ICONIC SONGS OF THE 60s. Everybody played their hearts n sang their souls out on this song. Fergie, excellent job. Wish I could have been there. A LOT OF ELECTRICITY IN THE AIR
Now, that's what I call Rock N' Roll!!!
Bringing in Fergie for this was a good call...
There's nobody greatest than mick
To be able to join Mick onstage for such a legendary song as Gimme Shelter is a lifetime honour.
They did it again at Live8 opening song with McCartney, Sergeant Pepper. Thats once in a lifetime twice for U2.
School time for fergie and U2 , as good as they are.
u2 fergie and mick great performace a job well done.
Whe I listen to this and the songs Fergie did with Slash, then I think, that it is very sad, that she doesn't do more rock music. She has so much talent....
She should do more rock. I would love to see her perform with AC/DC
She is a really hot woman. I would like to spend a weekend getting to know her. ❤️ 🌹 ❤️. we could make ☮️ peace.
What an absolute fabulous clip/ song etc. U2 where fab & Jagger well alway a legend.. But Fergie steals the show. What a cracking woman!!
This is freaking amazing
Absolutely Magnificent Mick and Bono, 😎🐬 Edge and Fergie.... and Will IAM 🎵🎼🎶💕😎🐬🎸💓👋
Fergie gives me fucking chills!! She murders it. Fan for life. Unreal.
MURDERS it! I can’t believe it’s real!
The other two are singing it with all the cutting edge of a Sondheim standard.
She's not intimidated by Michael Philip Jagger
She's an American Girl
@@brianmahoney5800 HAHA what? She was off key and got the lyric wrong - it’s “war, children”, not “war and children”. Just bc it’s not how you’re used to seeing her doesn’t mean it was good.
@@sevendays02 uhhh... lol, k.
Its not chills I get looking at her!!
wow! I didn't expect this to be as fantastic as it was.my mind is blown away ! great performance triplets of rock n roll.gonna watch this again another time.thanks
I loved the hype they made until Mick strutted on stage and everyone stud up and cheered, he is one of a kind!
Stood*
Wow! U2 with Jagger! Priceless
She was not only gorgeous but rocked the house down! Go Fergie!
I went to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Museum last July and they still play the version today!
After seeing the rolling stones live 2 days ago for the first time in my life.....
Now I understand why they are the greatest band 🤟😭🤟
Best version of this song
The edge smelled Fergies hair and was like Wow!
What a great version. All contribute beautifully. A great song done so well.
Great version of Gimme shelter, great performance of Fergie !
Thank you 😁❤🎶❤👍💋🎶👌...Thank You Lord ✝️ for the Tingles 🙏❤✝️
Awesome performance, once again old school, nothing like it!!!!!!!!!
Super energy all of them , pure rock 💪🇦🇷
Have a whole new respect for Fergie after this
but not bono - he blows
@chris mcCabe lol everyone's entitled to their own opinion. And he sucks!!!
Fergie is a queen when it’s time for live version. I can’t stand her autotune voice
Fergie is a fantastic singer and really suited to rock. That stuff she did with Slash was ace
She’s the only one providing any intensity whatsoever.
Mick Jagger di un altro Pianeta❤
What an explosion of talent in one room.man i must go to see the stones live one day......
This is what real music is all about.
Mike's stage presence even when he is not singing is incredible
mick sing so strong and carism!! best performer all of mankind
u2's melodies are simply so beautiful that their melodies stay in your mind even after the song is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!
robert perrella I love U2!
This is a Rolling Stone song--not U2
@@roberttompkins6489 hey rob tompkins i am aware of the fact that the rolling stones wrote this song in 1969!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grand funk railroad did a version of this song in 1970!!!!!!!
