Cool. And heads up...One Shepherd now operates in TWO areas. Alpha Company 1S Regiment is still at the CMTC facility near Ulman, Missouri (center of the state). Bravo Company 1S Regiment is now at the BSR facility near Summit Point, West Virginia (very near Washington DC). Join us! One Shepherd values our veterans.
Wow You guys are badass ,I just realized that I actually first discovered One Shepard years ago from watching the "how to pack a rucksack" video and I found You guys again on Brent0331's channel. glad I did lookin forward to more content and hope to one day participate
Ha! Funny. Yeah, it's interesting how people find One Shepherd. We've had Warriors come up to our instructors during training and recommend the "Light Infantry Tactics" book, or the "Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics" book, or "The Small Unit Tactics SMARTbook" or even "The OPFOR SMARTbook: Red Team Armies" - only to have our instructors tell them..."Uh. Yeah. That's our book. We sorta wrote that book. Do you want us to sign it?" Same sort of deal, Warriors have recommended The Olive Drab Journal or War Nerds Journal to us, not realizing that One Shepherd writes those journals as well. Oh, you know, since I'm bragging. Our latest journal article was published this summer by the US Army "Infantry Magazine" at Fort Benning, GA - www.benning.army.mil/infantry/magazine/issues/2017/APR-JUN/pdf/12)Larsen-EDM.pdf You kind of have to read between the lines, but this was research on cognitive decision-making for Infantry squad leaders conducted at One Shepherd by our staff and cadre. So yeah...it's kind of weird all the different ways people find us. It's not uncommon when we ask Warriors how they've heard of us, to hear them say they discovered our publications (or videos) years ago, but didn't realize we operated a tactical school for Warrior-Leaders. But we do.
Christopher Larsen hey doc, was checking the website, noticed you made some changes looks good. Anyway, I see the registration no longer has the option to select the full semester so do I have to select each one individually? Thanks for the help
Richard - Short answer, yes. Just add each event you want to attend into the cart, then pay once you've selected everything (e.g. WBC, STX, FTX). The reason for this is that during the first two days of the 7-day training week, there are actually three different courses being offered. So signing up for the whole week doesn't tell the staff which courses you will attend. And since there are a limited number of seats for each course, that information is actually pretty important. Cool? Remember: Registration opens online Thursday morning, 1 March.
I admire your school, goals and philosophies but my question is who owns the land the sheep grazes on and who runs the slaughterhouse the sheep will eventually be led to. Something to think about.
Thank you, Dale. And let me assure you, those questions have kept me up late many nights. This is not as easy of a line to walk as it may appear. The black border around the regimental shoulder patch is to remind us that everything we teach at One Shepherd can be used to produce terrible outcomes. There is a potential darkside to this knowledge. Yet knowledge, itself, is not evil. But this thought is often discussed by the staff officers and cadre instructors in the regiment. We want to make sure that we aren't fueling radicalism. On the other end of the spectrum, we also want to make sure we aren't fueling unquestioning adherence to state totalitarianism. Blind obedience to a state master can produce just as terrible outcomes as radicalism. These are heavy issues. Yet, we prefer to trust in our fellow citizens. And we foster a tradition of Warrior Scholarship. “The Nation that makes a great distinction between its scholars and its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools.” - Thucydides
This is great! If I ever get over to that area I'll have to stop by.

Great video! The more I learn about your facility the harder it is to wait till next year to join you.
I know, right? The 8-month wait between the fall and spring semester kills me! But it will get here...I promise.
