Oh, man. You're singing my song. Our vision really is to develop an entire regiment over time - 12 rifle companies, Alpha thru Lima - coast to coast. Let's dream BIG!
Your story is cool, reminds me of my quest i wanted to learn executive protection and psd so i went to a couple schools and attended five of them and one out of the five one was good that was ESI LTD. I'm 36 now wanting to learn leadership and do what y'all aed Brent 0331 recommends I'm not looking for high-speed stuff but to have basics on patrols and that final ftx i plan on doing in the future when I'm get coin saved up. Thank you
To be honest with you mate. Most companies won't even give you a look in at these industries unless you have a a bear minimum of four years in the military. Preferably combat roles with deployment time. Just saying.
I like your story and I wish there were more places out there like yours. My dream was have a military career , but my dream was shattered when I enlisted in the military in 94 as a 12 bravo. I had the right intention but the wrong timing, it was when president Clinton was cutting down on the military so I made the cut I was three and a half weeks into basic training when I was temporarily disqualified for medical reasons of which I was unaware of big reason that is on record, blood pressure. I was given a two year wait which then I had the choice to return or not, so when I received a call from the recruiting sergeant I asked one question( do I resume where I left off or do I need to re-enlist?) his answer was you must re-enlist l was in college at that time so I declined ever since I have been looking for a place to get military training as a civilian I checked out civil air patrol even the jrotc program the college offered but wasn’t satisfied, then one day watching you tube Brent 0331 had on a video of one shepherd and loved the idea of their training school I intended to actually get there one of these days and hopefully take their course. Love you guys, I have nothing else for you.
Aaron - My apologies. I skim these comment sections pretty regularly, but as this is a 2-year-old video, I missed your comment. Please consider joining us at One Shepherd. I think you've got exactly the right mindset, and if you health is even moderately solid, you'll do well here. While something in the nature of 1/2 of our Warrior community either comes from or is going on to service in the military or law enforcement, the other half of our community never serves in uniform. That is NOT a problem for us! We welcome honorable Warriors of all types. Happy to have you in the Regiment. I'm not sure where you live, currently. But Alpha Company (ACO 1S REG) is stationed at the Combat Maneuver Training Center (CMTC) near Ulman, Missouri. ACO is hosting two semesters - one in June 2020 and a second in September 2020. Whereas, Bravo Company (BCO 1S REG) is stationed at the Bill Scott Raceway (BSR) facility near Summit Point, West Virginia. BCO will also host two semester - one in April 2020 and a second in October 2020. If any of those dates/locations work out for you, it would be an honor to train with you. - 1shepherd.com/
Damn, as an uruguayan i wish i could attend just one darn semester of yours. We dont have y'alls freedoms, y'alls culture. We dont have ANY of that stuff, and even if i wanted to build it, we cant. There's millions of legal hoops, monetary hoops (expenses are through the roof) and so on.
Calebvee - It is a fantastic wind-resistance fleece jacket called Cabela's Titan Windshear. One Shepherd Warriors love this jacket! Plus, it was really affordable at about $55 each. Unfortunately... Cabela's stopped making and selling it. Such a shame.
I've been in civil air patrol as an adult for 4yrs aircrew member non pilot it's pretty much lame you do get to wear the military flight suit and flight jacket. But there's nothing fun about getting airsick... I don't do ground team stuff due to the fact our squadron is flying only.
Honestly, I was looking for a Civil Air Patrol at age 14 when I decided instead to "create my own program" - and ended up starting One Shepherd! I later served with a couple of Warriors in the US Army Infantry who had been in CAP during their high school years in Texas. I'm pretty impressed with the CAP program overall. The one downside is that CAP, JROTC, and Young Marines are forbidden (in their charters) from training in ground combat operations. That's a shame. But still, CAP does allow search and rescue (SAR) training. And if the CAP unit carefully and deliberately creates training around SAR to foster leadership, it can be done at high quality. (The problem is that there is considerable inconsistency from one CAP unit to the next!) Still, CAP is a good program. If you're interested in getting into "the ground stuff" - feel free to join us at One Shepherd. I think you'll find a home in this Warrior community.
Odd question. I cannot say I've ever heard of Amyway. Do you possibly mean Amway - the "work from home" beauty and home care supply company? If so, nope. I've never worked with Amway or any similar company. Aren't they based on the pyramid model (some say scheme)? I'm confused by your question. Why do you ask? I mean, I've been told that I should have been a used car salesman on more than one occasion!
Ouch. Snarky. But, yes...we've had people ask if the federal government knows of One Shepherd, and I always tell them that I am CONFIDENT the federal government knows the name of everyone who walks through our tents! (Not the least of which is because roughly half of our community are military and police veterans. So, the FBI has a dossier. Promise.) One of my favorite anecdotes is of a young man who wanted to join, but his aunt worked for the FBI in Kansas City. She forbid him to join - and then to prove her point of how "dangerous" One Shepherd was to his mother and father, she did a background check on our leadership school! Two months later, his aunt came over for dinner and gave her blessing for the young man to join our ranks. She said her background check showed One Shepherd to be a "legit and clean-cut leadership program." Nice. How is it funded? The seed money to start up Alpha Company came from my book royalties. You should probably look a couple of these up. US Armed Forces schools make up 70 percent of all sales, the rest are through AAFES sold on US military bases globally. I'd say that's a pretty good endorsement, wouldn't you? Obviously, these titles support the One Shepherd curriculum, as well. If it's good enough for the US Army and Marine Corps, then it's good enough for One Shepherd. Right? The Small Unit Tactics SMARTbook. (1st Edition 2008; 2nd Edition 2014; 3rd Edition 2019). And be sure to look for this one at the beginning of next year... The OPFOR 2 SMARTbook: Hybrid Threat. (Due 2020.) Lakeland, FL: The Lightning Press. Hey, thanks for asking though, Scrateshooter. I always appreciate the opportunity to legitimize One Shepherd in social media. Much appreciated.
So people who are interested in being a wolf amongst sheep and training to protect our community brings Timothy McVeigh to mind? Why do you hate freedom? Why do you choose not to use your constitutional rights and stifle others? People such as you are some of the most dangerous as you question and probably, from the wording of your comment don't care for America's founding and constitution.
It's an awesome concept!
Big man out here doing what we all wanted to do as kids… and instead of waiting for others to do it… he said “I’ll go”
I do indeed hope that this group can grow and spread so that in the near future it is as recognized as the Boy Scouts.

Who said you have to be SOF to do what you’re doing? Your teaching is right on. Keep up the great work.
Man ive been looking for something like One Shepard since I was a young kid. Hopefully in the future I can be part of the team
Please join us, Wulfz Lair. It's a great community of Warriors, plus a world-class program. You'll find a home here.
