You know with the whole dark green vs light green Turtles...so I caught the original show on Pluto TV. It was bouncing around different seasons, and every episode had them looking more like the lighter green versions. I think that darker green look is more unique to the first handful of episodes, but NECA hasn't made Turtles that have that particular head look. It comes down to so much inconsistency with the cartoon, on top of NECA taking their own liberties with these different versions. You know sooner or later they'll get to the other 17 specific looks from the cartoon.
I love watching the background evolve. I figure one day it will crush you. All good collectors will one day be ended by their collection, as it should be. Have you ever said what your collection, if you had one, was like as a kid? I still have a lot of my childhood survivors. Even as a kid, I just liked to have things. I got that impulse from my mother.
I make it a point not to put heavy figs on the shelves above my chair where i sit lol🤣 I also have a few artifacts from childhood, nothing rare but sum of it very cool, tho all of it cherished by me. I totally luv anything with Anthropomorphic Animals so TMNT was huge in the early 90s. Then Jurassic Park cam-out... and became my favorite thing ever. Being a life-long Paleo-nerd from day-one i had to have Dino Toys. On TV my ninja action activity was effectively replaced by MMPR but i never got into the toys. My days of fighting action figures was over in the mid 90s.

They have managed to just barely miss the mark with the Turtle coloration. To be fair the tone was very inconsistent from cell to cell between the several animation studios at work. NECA prides itself on emulation but i think they may have to admit defeat here, also a few other figs as well. Toon Leatherhead also looks a bit too blue from the show animation and i think MutagenMan is too yellow (extra paint from Ace Duck?).
It's cool the masks can come off. If Neca makes their beds ppl can have them sleeping. I believe it's the second episode it shows the TMNT sleeping without their masks.
There's other characters that are inspired by other characters. The dark Turtle and wingnut are inspired by DC comics Batman. Grunt is inspired by marvel comics bonebreaker. Dirk Savage is inspired by marvel comics original Nick Fury. Pizza monster is inspired by alien and gremlins. Karai is inspired by Marvel comics Elektra. Especially the last Ronin Karai.
i wonder if when they made the masks brighter in the front like in there tv episode being under a street lamp having the faces exposed and the hat shading there back side was the thought as a diorama setup

My most favorite TMNT Toy Line EVER! I freakin luvit!! It has supplanted all of my toy fandoms. I am absolutely enamored with the effect of my childhood cartoon brought to life in 3D objects. The TID set is absolutely awesome and definitely great bang-for-the-buck. However, i beg to deviate from the norm and favor the light-green versions.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed both color tones have their unique effect in certain situations. The dark color is perfect for a disguised look, and the light color is good for popping colorful display.

It's certainly weird. I think a green in between the two would be more accurate. And we definitely need the heads from the first season!

They don’t get loose, but depending on the age of the kid, I would recommend the Playmates Turtles instead. These really aren’t for kids

There’s some stuff from hobby stores made for making jewelry. It’s perfect. Has a plastic type finish and comes in different colors and thickness
