A sure sign that Labour are going to wipe the Tories out. Shame though as I like Andy Street, despite his colours.
He’s a charlatan.
A lot of people must like him as Richard Parker won by just 1508 votes 😳
Did he play drums?. I dont recall him at the gigs?@beezergutler5488

A Great Result ... People Need And Want A Change ❤
They certainly do.lthem tories are just horrible To the disabled..yet protect certain others.
Nothing will change. 😢
We will see what Labour does differently, I will not be voting for Labour they have ruined Birmingham and bankrupted us, we will be paying for
Labour’s mistakes for years remember that 😢
@@c.h2750 Wrong. In a year, they will realize everything is much worse than today. The fake conservatives are terrible, but the genuine communists will be a complete disaster
We did not require a change in the West Midlands as before Andy Street took the West Midlands Mayors post nothing happened in the West Midlands, but when he took over things started to move one example was the expanding of the West Midlands Metro
It's the will of the people. 🎉🎉
It is the will of the donors

Unfortunately, absolutely true. As in the case ofthe hedge fund tycoon and owner of GB News who sic happy to lose £76 million ( so far ) running a TV station with no business model. Oh, yes. It lets him spread disinformation, give voice to right wing “think”tanks, and constantly promote the propaganda of the opaquely funded Reform Party UK Limited - all unchallenged. The “paybacks” that he expects to get must be massive.
😂
Congratulations to Labour for another Great victory ✌.
The Tories were cocky that they were going to win it.
The race to the bottom
Yup ♥️💙💚🇬🇧
What winning by 1,508 votes out of nigh on 3 million voters, not much of a great victory
|Congrtatulations to Mr Parker and the Labour party. Change has been a long time coming. Save the NHS and take our contry back to the people and away from the greedy capataists please.👍
capataists
Now, Andy Street knows how 16 million remainers felt when we lost the Brexit referendum.
Win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.
EXACTLY
The Tory Party, if it is to survive must accept and acknowledge that Brexit was a horrendous mistake!!!
🙄💤💤💤
@@theman2017incno it wasn’t. The way it was implemented was.
@@theman2017inc The Tories weren't behind Brexit. Most senior Tories were remainers. All they did was give the people a referendum (as Labour would have had to have done if they were in power) because there was a groundswell of opinion in the country that we would be better off out of the EU.
End of Tory party 😮
Enough!
Keep them out for good.
No chance of that. All they have to do is go right and they'll be back in power within 5 years. Labour isn't even a real party anymore. It's just a coalition of special interest groups who'll all want their pound of flesh once Starmer's in No.10. The people are voting the Tories out, not voting Labour in. NEVER forget that.
The movie Dumb and dumber comes to mind. First, there were Tories ....
@@gdiwolverinemale4th was Susan Hall in Dumb & Dumber?
@@SheilaBloom. I have no idea. I am not in the UK. The country is unrecognizable, thanks to globalist policies. It is not going to get better
Multi-millionaire Sunak has proudly announced that the Tories still have work to do in kicking the poor, sick and disabled.
Why on earth was so much time effort and money wasted with a pointless full recount in Coventry? It was about a 9.5k votes lead for Labour in Coventry so never close enough for a recount.
Refreshing, however that the new Mayor behaved with such humility and dignity in recognising his predecessor's record and the former Mayor reacted in a similar way. What a lesson that should be.
General election now!
Absolutely brilliant result now let’s have a general election and bring an end to the 14 years of tory attacks on our living standards
Great news, and thanks to those idiots at reform UK who helped make this happen by standing! 🤣
Right up Labour's Street
Under appreciated comment this.
@@LittleSecrets1000 Street life..
Whats the matter with the lady reading out the figures?..
Maybe the Telegraph will have to spend more hours on hating Electric vehicles and PoC getting acting roles, and not on actual politics after this. Oh, they already did lol
What sort of announcement of numbers is this, 😮 so confusing
Now build council home,s.
The Mayor of the West Midlands does not get Council Houses built, that is the job of City Councils
lost is lost regardless if 1508 or 2 votes
Change means new opportunities and the old one can search for a new job but usually those politicians do not know what real work means.
Dont they say thousand these days.
Street should have run as an independent. This is not a good result really as when Labour are in government the new Mayer will be too chummy chummy with them. Street was beginning to distance himself from Sunak and co and was just starting to do a half decent job and also bollocked Sunak over HS2. I know many won’t agree and that’s fair enough but I just think this is a step backwards.
I'm a pragmatic socialist, progressive who prioritises human rights, social and environmental justice. Current Labour actually seem too right wing, private sector, ultra rich, and US-Israel-Saudi devoted for me. In a general election I'd vote for someone like greens. But in honesty Andy was a decent mayor wasn't he? That got some decent stuff done. Seemed to know what he was doing. Parker is unknown, untested and isn't really any more socialist. He comes from the same private sector finance background. I see the whole 14 year run of Tories as rotten to the core in central govt. But I question the public seemingly choosing the WM mayor based on frustrations with central govt. I bet most of these people voted for Brexit too.
A poor party will drag good men down.
Shame , he should have ran as an independent.
He might have won more by running as a spoiled votes candidate lol
Yeah. I would have voted for Street if he ran as an independent. Nothing against him personally but he bottled it when he didn't resign when they scrapped HS2.
@josephkerrigan733 I think he would have lost as an independent. He already has enough competition, adding the Conservatives to that list would just make him lose more votes.
What was the most warming from this clip was the dignity between political rivals if only we saw this across the spectrum our political system would be the better for it!
That's how we have had 14 years of tory rule yeah the stupidity of voters
Good Luck
I thought a Birmingham mayor needed to be a resident of Birmingham not Worcester
Yeha❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hear mr Sunak has reapplied for his green card
Andy street...could live on the street....with the rest of the homeless.
The most important part of Street’s speech was when he thanked the other candidates and for Parker’s courtesy during the campaign. Parker said a few nice things about Street and I hoped he would say the same thing about him. But I guess he forgot.
Good
Changes is for better future
Dam that’s some loud breathing
Why is Street mimicing Trumps hand gestures ? Especially on the word TRUST with the thumb and forefinger being made into a O?
This will mean a Conservative party with fewer moderates and less to counterbalance its political shift.
Then maybe English people should get more moderate and not vote for hateful parties
@@keithewrightgood point.
where is BBC news? Broadcast is for the benefits of the public rather than earning money.
I found his speech nausiating. However, it has amussed me to see panicking Tory MP's trying to put spin on a huge defeat. Good riddence to bad rubbish!
West Midlands had a low turn out 😂
Street out but Khan in. I am ashamed of the voting public.
Cry :)
GOOD BYE TORY...LIAR,S.
I absolutely cannot stand Andy Street - he was so pompous and a wolf in sheeps clothing.
But he got things done in the West Midlands County
Bloke can go to Khalistan, Gaza and Kashmir.
Andy was so confident when he climbed the ladder, even putted out his cue cards and then slowly hid it.
He would already have known the result when he went on stage. Candidates are told just before the official announcement.
Labour run bham council made a error and there not bankrupt all is forgiven 😂Let labour run govern bham 😂😂😂😂
How many tory councils have gone bankrupt?
Lets all give the 2 party system the finger 🖕2 cheeks of the same backside
A sad loss - Conservative control in large urban areas is important. However, nice speeches by Richard Parker and Andy Street.
Great, he's gone. The trouble is now we'll get more of the same just painted red. Next time Elaine.

Unbelievable....the stupidity of voters.
Yes, the stupidity of people who still vote Tory.
No one who is alright in their mind will vote for a Torry or Reform for any seat for the matters.😢 Defeat belongs to the brave. Cowards and the incompetent do not fight righteously in the first place.
£29.80 TURN OUT%
Yeah, people don't see the point in voting. They're sick of all the options and don't really see the point. It'll likely be the same for the general elections.
