  • “There’s an interesting discussion among some MPs in Westminster about whether you could have a wipe out moment for the Tories.”
    The Conservative Party could learn some lessons from foreign parties that have been wiped out, but Rachel Sylvester thinks this is unlikely in the UK.

      Try ticking the Tactical Voting Fraction option, with 30% for Labour voters, 45% for Lib Dem voters, and 60% for Green voters.

    • @HypocrisyLaidBare
      @HypocrisyLaidBare Месяц назад

      41% of people polled believe labour is divided and only 35 think its united the remaining 24% don't know (also from YouGov), so 8f most feel it's divided they can't have trust in a party that is at war wirh itself, like the tories are. So support for Labour will be reduced. Therefore with the undecided and tactical voter's the chances of labour winning big is marginal at best, the greater likely outcome will be hung, tory support is low however independant and other parties are attracting attention. If labour win this GE it will be their last too, as the alternatives will swell with former tory votes and some of the tactical and the decided voter's. Labour may win this time but it will also be their last victory.

      @@jeffreyuprichard3754 Get real - you need to wise up on the Sub-prime mortgage debacle in the US that caused the crash, and how Gordon Brown saved the entire western banking system from total collapse. Where were you in 2008? What were you reading? Study your history Jeff. A few pointers: check out what Maggie Thatcher and Ronald Reagan did in deregulating the banking and financial systems to enable them to operate freely in re-packaging customer loans and mortgages by slicing and dicing them into nice little money-earners for overpaid executives and easily boosting bank profits massively without creating anything other than eventual utter mayhem and chaos. Check out Milton Friedman and the Chicago boys and the concept of free-market fundamentalism. Those little loan and mortgage packages were simply a means of selling ordinary folk (as well as larger investors too obviously) bits of paper that were supposed to pay them back plus "guaranteed" interest (property based - what could possibly go wrong?!) They were rated in 3 categories: A, B & C. The poor suckers in the USA who bought over-valued properties and took out loans, only then to find they'd lost their jobs and couldn't pay back, lost everything and the domino effect kicked in. Both C and B rated packets became worthless as folks defaulted on their payments. This was nothing to do with the Labour Government, and everything to do with USA "Reaganomics" and Maggie Tory Thatcher free-market capitalism. Two things wrong with the Tories (we can’t call them, “conservatives,” as they do not fit the definition of that word by any measure) are: 1, No one recognises them anymore. They have lurched so far to the right, they frighten decent people. 2, They don’t stand for ANYTHING. They have no clear policies and cannot agree internally about anything!
    I honestly think they could have gotten away with their string of abject policy failures, biblical levels of corruption and fundamental incompetence had they been all singing from the same hymn sheet and not in the early stages of a civil war, which promises to be the most entertaining part of this story, post-election. Voters have never been all that moved by Tory corruption in the past.
    But the Americanised radical rightism that has been used to so deliberately divide the voters and the belligerent language we’ve heard from the front benches; Cabinet ministers literally insulting more than half of the electorate with name calling, is just very un-British and has done more to alienate people than anything.
