Conservatives suffer huge losses in local elections

  • By any measure it's been a grim day for the Conservatives - they lost the by-election for an MP in Blackpool South thanks to a massive swing to Labour, they're on track to lose around half of the local election council seats they contested and their projected national vote share is down to a dismal 25%.
With so many losses, Rishi Sunak has described the night as 'disappointing'. But he’s sure voters will stick with the Tories come the general election.

Or the years of brutal oppression of eight million Muslims and Arabs by ISIS. Or the nearly 70 thousand political prisoners in Egypt alone. Or the fate of the Kurds denied a their own state by the Turks and the Arabs. Or the fate of a million Muslim refugees being expelled from Pakistan. Or if anyone cared about the tens of thousands of Palestinians expelled by Kuwait. Or if they asked why Palestinians are still in 'refugee camps' two generations after their grandparents and great parents fled Palestine. Of if they had demanded Gaza and the West Bank be given independence when they were part of Egypt and Jordan. But in fact you hear next to nothing about any of these. Because the perpetrators of the crimes are other Muslims and/or Arabs and there is a golden rule that nobody criticises the Ummah. They are absolutely passionate about Palestine because the enemies are Jews. Little Syrian kids were murdered by other Syrians so nobody cared.
To be clear, I am not saying it is wrong to care about Palestinian children being murdered in Gaza. I am saying I don't believe your motives for claiming to care. I think you hate the Jews more than you love the Palestinians.

@quintuscrinis8032...Very true its more so that people are disatisfied with the Tories, so therefore this is backlash vote for Labour. But the torries have been a mess for 14 years. One can't deny it anymore but they are trying to save face with the Rwanda policy plan spearheaded by the more radical rightwingers within the Conservative party.

Like cockroaches Tories will never go away. I sincerely hope those who voted for Cameron and later Johnson remember their actions when the NHS is fully Americanised. GP appointments will be charged for first, then tests and scans and eventually all major NHS services will require health insurance cover. Great situation if you are rich and can afford to sell one of your houses when insurance refuse to cover treatment!

I’m not sure these results really matter at this stage. The Tories will undoubtedly aim to cling on as long as possible because every additional week in power means significantly more public (tax payer) money can be funnelled into the private sector.

I'm sure people would be more likely to vote for something else if we ever heard from the other parties, i personally have no idea what they stand for or what their policies are. If we have to go on a treasure hunt to figure out what each party's policies are, then i'd rather just go with the 'safer' more outspoken option.
I honestly doubt it'll make any difference in the long run anyway, all politicians are just rich landlords trying to fill their pockets these days.

The vastly overpopulated United Kingdom is in such a serious state of lawlessness, decline and decay in so many different areas and this mass invasion of immigrants is contributing so destructively, detrimentally, negatively and massively to the myriad of problems we as a nation are now confronted with, moreover with the prospect of a labour government the situation can only become so very, very much worse.

Makes you think you should have to pass an exam which tells you what you are voting for. If you are trying to decide who the best people for the job as local councillors, the positions on Gaza should be the least thing you are considering. Particularly the positions of other people on Gaza.
