In both RE4's (original and remake) Ada give Leon a Well-Timed RPG.
and in RE6 Leon story, At the ending, there was an RPG near the helicopter, also provided by Ada. (God bless Ada)

Crazy how Chris got some many redesigns in this series
He is the most consistent character in design term aside from RE7, i think you just hop on this idea train since Chris design became just stadium mindset that cant be changed 🤥🙄
@@shodim4495 consistency aside, his character design has had some of the most drastic, changes that were not explained by a violent mutation, in the series. I think that's why so many people think he's been redesigned a lot more than he has. Because when he has, it has been huge. Pun intended.

You run the risk of making a babyface seem unapproachable when you start to make them look too bitter, but they had to reflect his lifestyle choices and regrets. He had been through a lot of shit by then....a LOT.

"Where's everyone going? bingo?" is actually a good one liner. All of the zombies in the village are middle aged
It's crazy how out of every zombie franchise, the virus' of resident evil should take over the world and yet, it never does.
You can't continue to sell/make more Resident Evil games the way they are in a world without humans. Similar to why comic book superheroes/villains are impossible to truly kill - these companies require contrivances to keep their franchises alive.
the arguable difference is that in most zombie outbreak scenarios the 'powers that be' try to hide the outbreaks until they infect the whole world, while in the RE games they actually proactively try to shut them down in the early stages
@@delphy2478 and also the people who start the virus itself try to control it and limit it as it may affect their goals. There's no use for virus terrorist attacks if you can't limit the area of effect to your enemies. Neither can you sell it to someone who aims to actually destroy the world. It makes it a bit more believable to me
Thats because the outbreaks in RE tend to be in isolated areas and any bioweapon activity gets snuffed out before it goes global.
@@SolidSnake240 They snuffed out birds with T? You know that fly. The mold got into the bayou, there's no containing that. Heck the T-Abyss got put into the ocean. Yeah localized areas
In case anyone is curious, miranda found the the megamycete right after her daughter died wayyyyy back then. It was in the caves under the village and is of unknown origin and the mold acts like a neural network and stores memories and data of those who die near it. (Which is how miranda was going to basically download her baby from the megamycete.) When Spencer worked with Miranda he learned about the mold which inspired him to pursue artifical evolution. When he found the flowers that naturally produced the progenitor virus after learning of a tribe of people living unnaturally long, he and Miranda argued about which was better, mold or viruses. They disagreed and Miranda did her mold experiments while Spencer went to develop the virus experiments with help from the Marcus' funding and Birkin's experience.
I felt the origin wasn't clearly explained so I wanted to make sure people got how the mold and viruses shared a similar origin story with Miranda vs Spencer.

Shout out to my main girl Rebecca Chambers, she may have been dropped, but never forgotten. Its a shame Shinji Mikami and the RE team at the time were butting heads over her character, I feel she could have been a great candidate for great character developement if she had been given a little more time in the series apart from 2 games
You said it; there's a lot of characters I wish saw more light. Rebecca out of many of these had EASILY the most potential. Fingers crossed we'll see her again. But I sincerely doubt it.
Good news Rebecca is a playable character in RE Revelations 2 but idk about 1

As a person who was a complete chicken to the point of staying away from horror games, before I got into RE (Courtesy of J's reviews), I can say its worth the mini heart attacks. The fear is part of the fun ;)
RE6 is the most constant stream of "okay yeah sure" nonsense you'll probably ever have to meet a video game halfway with and I love it for that. and I love this video for the herculean task of providing a genuinely engaging and hilarious, ridiculously digestible, perfectly thorough timeline of the events of Resident Evil. you hit an immaculate ratio between thoroughness of information from each game in the series without in any way overshadowing a desire to play the games themselves. that is really hard to do!!! but you did it! simply incredible stuff as always Chip.

Have you decided which game to start with? The earliest games have the best story... But the difficulty difference and control schemes are a nightmare, keep that in mind, but the earlier remakes also will draw on the most adrenaline fueled nightmares

Damn, by the end, I really wanted to cry. It feels so weird knowing that I'm older than a resident evil character...It just feels so weird. I just feel so weird knowing that there's characters out there I love who I'm older than...wow. But that just goes to show how well done this video is. It deserves much more likes and attention!

I'll only be 17 for so long and before I know it, I'll be an adult, but that's a part of growing up: seeing yourself a d the people around you age. It hurts but makes me proud of how far I've grown.

i’ve played all resident evil games but have never had the faintest idea about the lore
As someone who was about the same as you with having little to no knowledge of RE growing up, OTHER than the movie (which fun enough my monkey brain loved), to spenting the last four years consuming all RE media i possibly can. This summary was awesome!! Definitely saving it in my playlist to come back to when i need background noise/something to watch!!

I must say the Resident Evil 7 and 8 (especially 7) are the best ones storywise from the series. They dont use much bullshit, they are grounded, they are relatable.
I grew up playing RE, beat the OG trilogy as a young kid but sadly was withdrawn from it as poverty struck and my love for gaming was taken from me for years. 20 something years passed, i've got some cash now and started playing some of the games and kinda started getting into the groove of it again as I loved the series and they imprinted fond memories on me. But with so many games the best thing to do was to watch a summary of it all to understand why we went from zombies to raging spanish cursing villagers to some disgusting undescribable creatures. And, what I find is a total massive CLUSTERFUCK that barely keeps some resemblance to the past I remembered; and, thanks to your video i sort of understand this shitshow now but holy hell it threw me off from the series. God level summary work. Excellent video mate.
bro im just leaving a comment here to thank you for this video. i just beat RE4, and now im trying to play RE4 remake but i literally cannot get past the first village section without hyperventilating because i have severe anxiety. I don't think i can play any more of the series even though I really want to play them all

This is far and away the best "Story Up To This Point..." of Resident Evil that ive seen. Ive been a huge fan of the series my entire life and parts still confuse me to this day lol. (Im looking at you Revelations 1&2) but the way you put everything together was perfect! Well done.
I've never felt more supported than this man telling me, things are about to be complicated but its ok, he's done the hard work and there are chapters just in case I need them.

It’s funny, because when it comes to the lore of resident evil, I’m one of the semi- veterans, and I understand this video is supposed to be for beginners, but at the same time for it being for beginners, it covers quite a lot lore wise and you explain it very easy and really well❤, one of the plot points being that Miranda has been there since the beginning mentoring Oswell

My man I give you mad props for being a casual fan and putting this great video together but you forgot all about Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 and they are huge lore and story wise
Firstly, I loved this video and you did an excellent job to compile this behemoth of a series into a less than an hour video. It was incredibly entertaining, too, especially where your humor was concerned 😂 The cutscenes matched perfectly with what you were trying to convey and it brought back so many memories from the older titles (I grew up with the series in the 90s). One of the last things I enjoyed was your small intermissions between the clusters of games in the save room lol That was a nice touch. I think we can both agree that 6 was just out there lol I'll never forget how upset I was getting that game at launch and finding out Wesker's name was just dragged lmao Couldn't finish it either. Finished Chris' scenario and never went back lol
Long ramble short, thank you for your hard work in producing this masterpiece. I'm sure the noobs to the series will be grateful for such an entertaining and inciteful video. I think my one brother let me finish RE 7:biohazard, man i was terrified but so happy. one of the first traumatising horror games my brother let me play was probably outlast whistleblower. I grew up loving stuff related to horror and i feel awsome for that
