Daughter of Pomeria and the Price went hand in hand. You sooooo have to upload clips from the Price episode too! My thoughts on the Price: I'm aware this episode didn't focus a lot on Xena and Gabrielle's intimiate personal relationship, but it did in a few ways.... it showed that they each have the complete yin yang in them, while also showing how they each together complete one yin yang. Xena was easily sliding back into her old ways and it was scaring Gabrielle but at the end she helped Gabrielle get the wounded man to feel better, and Gabrielle the whole episode was her usual kind caring self but at 1 point she became just as dark as Xena in some ways because she couldn't stand the thought of Xena going back to her evil ways and she became strong and stood up to her. This whole episode was just very well written and the whole Kaltaka meaning water thing was the turning point between them in the episode....it was amazing to see how much effort they put into this episode, to do with battles and at the same time focus on the deep connection between Xena and Gabrielle.
My biggest issue with this episode was the total lack of recognition that the Horde chief kidnapped the kid. They act like, he found and merely adopted her.
I had a problem with that too. And Vanessa talked about them like they were a peaceful tribe despite the many people they tortured and killed. This episode rubbed me the wrong way and the fight scene at the end is the only thing that saves it.
I thought milo got what he deserved.I kinda felt sorry for Xena never knew why. I also i agree with poster this episode and the price go together. I hope we a limited series to fix the ending and see the world thru Xena eyes after being gone for so long. I fully support it with Lucy and Renee i think they earned and they both want to do it.
For those who are asking why Xena did seem to be so weak on this fight, here's a simple explanation: We have to understand that Xena was like him (Like Milo) like two years ago. Remember that episode "The price" (2x20) where Xena had to fight "these" guys (the "Hordes")? That was because she didn't understand them, and she thought they were just bad guys without emotions or regrets, and because of her experiences with them when she was "evil", she didn't think well of them... But she could understand them thanks to Gabrielle. On the other hand, Milo hadn't that chance so that's the reasson Xena didn't want to kill him, because he was just a hunter, just like she was against the "hordes" back in the days.
I've noticed and counted how many timed Xena used the sword pummel instead of the blade and Gabriel used the pummel of her sais instead of the forks. It was a lot. I call that holding back
oh shes holding back, hes nowhere near a good enough fighter to justify the length of this fight. i think the issue is that Xena clearly wants to beat him into submission - she only killed him when she had no other choice.
Well, given that Xena is strong enough to be on par with gods I'd say she does hold back when she fights mortals. At least in her good days, I don't think she was holding back when she was evil.
@@Bardim18 xena is strong enough to fight the gods but that edge mostly came from getting the power to kill them, meaning she can actually kill them. when she fights gods without that power ie velasca and callisto she holds her own but usually suffers a good beating at the same time. ares is a bit different because xena spent so much time with him she pretty much knows how to fight him without any risk to herself. but thats a sidebar. so yes, xena tends to hold back to prevent killing and also because she enjoys fighting she may hold back to let it go on longer than necessary. this fight i think its purely that xena thinks milo is an idiot and doesn't want to kill him unlesss she has no other choice.
Nothing to persuade you that your enemy isn't really your enemy when their leader saves your daughter's life. Of course, the Pomira/Horde could assume this as a setup to trick them.

@@xenapromos I don't think he was overpowered, that would be Xena. In the first season, she wasn't really match for Ares and later she beat him. Episodes like this make characters like Milo and Najara seem brutal. Maybe I'm just unortodox, I like it when the hero isn't the most overpowered character.
@@xxlCortez I think the writers made xena more of a match for Ares when they played with the idea that she was his daughter and therefore a demigod like Hercules. But they quickly abandoned that.

This fight was lame. He is like some low ranked amateur fighter taking on the champ. Xena has killed people while nursing two broken legs, and while dying from poison...and some nobody shows up and she struggles? He wasn’t even a good fighter. Season 1 Gabs could have taken him😂 They needed to stick w legit competition like Callisto, or God-types like Velasca....or whole entire armies😂💗

As far as I remember the Horde kidnapped the girl when she was a baby and raised her, then the girl meets her biological parents and finds out what happened and chooses to stay with her captors? What the hell, she had Stokholm's Syndrome or something?
They basically raised her as one of their own from infancy. She wasn't a prisoner but a member of the family. She was the only parents she ever knew until she was 14. It was hard for her to adapt to a different culture and be away from the people who she had loved all her life.

Who says Xena struggled? She most likely went easy on him and tried to resolve it without killing him since he technically wasn’t a bad guy.

Much as I used to love this series, this action scene is just horrible ... Plus the lack of blood makes it look really fake as well.
