iv never watched xena yet but from the opening intros i can see it looks to be a really cool show but on the taglines of the show online its described as being campy does not look that way to me.

Unparalleled raw skill aside her physical abilities, in particular agility and jumping, are far far superior then any other human seen in the same world.

This isn't a criticism of the writing, just idiot mistakes which do happen in real life. Why doesn't the Persian army just burn the house down? A big army is very limited in enclosed spaces.
the real life answer is because that's the easiest way, it's kinda of a pussified way to win a battle. it's almost like cheating and doesn't demonstrate the alleged brute force and effectiveness of an army going in and taking out their enemy face to face. There's no honor in burning the house. It's the same idea of a sword fight... Why keep clashing blade to blade when all you really need to do is aim for you opponents hand gripping the sword to disarm them and then go in for the kill. There's no honor in that and it won't be celebrated as a victory when the story is retold.
You can tell they weren't even trying to hit her. As a kid this seemed awesome but as an adult I see the horrible combat they made the men do to seem weaker than Xena...LMAO!

Am I the only one who finds it insulting that she could beat THAT MANY all at once? If Kevin Sorbo's Hercules couldn't do that, then she shouldn't have been able to either, and he was a half god. The people that say Xena was not a god or a half god, there should have at least been an explanation that would would make sense for this scene, like where she was wearing something that gave her super powers, or had some sort of wizard cast a spell on her that made her almost invincible.
Xena had a completely different sort of training then Hercules. Her strength is not from the gos as Hercule's is. She trained hard and built up her strength and skills, she has been on both sides good and evil, Hercules was born a half god abd only ever trained with hus full strength. Without his strength from the gods he is not as good of a fighter as seen in a few episodes when he gave up his powers to be with Serina and a few other episodes. She also had a few very powerful teachers Ares, Lao Ma.
I know this comment was a bit ago, but while I don't personally find it insulting I do find it interesting. I will say I definitely headcanon Xena as a Demigod and wish it had been confirmed! Also imo Herc could have pulled this fight off, especially considering Xena only did cause she had prep and Herc is around equal in that regard.
