  • The Telford Steam Railway is a heritage that I haven't visited before until I heard about the Multiple Mayhem event over the May Bank Holiday.
Sort of Diesel Multiple Unit Gala featuring a British Rail Class 108 DMU and three trains that we haven't really seen on the channel for a while. Pacer Trains as the Telford Steam Railway has two Class 142 DMUs and a Class 144 DMU still in the Northern livery. There has been a handful of Pacer Trains that have entered Perseveration.
Also in this video it featured a MK3 Carriage which went overseas and a Model Railway of Stafford Station set in the LNWR/LMS days before the 1960s brutalism.
People will love the Pacer Trains, People will hate the Pacer Trains but they will be known as the train that will never die!

Simon - The goal is to go to Ironbridge in the next 3-5 years which will be fantastic and to hopefully blend in with the new Ironbridge development at some point.
The next station they want to reach is Dosley which is about a mile down the line heading towards Ironbridge however they have to overcome a pedestrian crossing first which is literally around the corner from H&D station. They are sorting out the drainage works around H&D station soon as it's in a valley. Once they have overcome that they will be fine to Dosley. It's on a embankment so drainage not an issue. Platform still remains at Dosley which is good.
Lawley they can't use the station because the embankment isn't safe and like you said they plan to build a proper station there. It will always be a terminus as they can't go any further.
The Mk3 sleeper coach is being sold on to pastures new now.
The Railway has set up a crowd fund for the steam tram boiler so they can refurbish it. £20+k is what they after.
The Railway has the line all the way to Ironbridge which is great news.
Light Moore Signal Box is very much still active as its part of the mainline. I've never seen it myself however.
The pacers are a fantastic addition to the railway.
If you didn't know I'm a volunteer at the Railway and do my part to help out.
Looks like you had good fun Simon. You should visit more often. I went on the Monday and I had fun also.
    Great video.

    Hello again Simon,
Just wanted to say a big thank you for doing this video, it's so nice to see the PACER trains still alive and kicking, even if it's only on a heritage railway line.
It was a bit emotional watching the video, but emotional in a good way for me, because I really miss the PACER trains and used to enjoy traveling on them, especially on the Hope Valley line.
Hope you manage to get more rides on Pacer trains in the future at other Heritage railway centres and put out some more videos too.
Yes the Chase Water Railway looks an interesting place, maybe for your next video?
On another note, the Telford Steam Railway Centre looks a fascinating place to visit, I may go for a visit there sometime myself, even if it's just to see the Pacers 😍 and I hope they manage to extend the line in the future, it'll make an interesting ride.
Anyway mate, keep up the good work and hope to see another Pacer video soon 😍
All the best from Devon Mike 🚂

Not being a Brit and only having done two trips to the UK from "Down Under," I never got to see much Pacer action. However, 142058 was my first Pacer ride, back on 11/9/2019, from Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester Victoria. 😍😍 *_Pacers!!!_*

If anyone is interested there are at least two Class 144 Pacers on the Cambrian Heritage Railway in Oswestry. The line is over a mile long. Another small heritage railway that would really appreciate any visitors. With a museum and refreshments.

Nice video of the Pacer in action on the Telford Steam Railway Simon👍👍
I really like the early part of the video of everyone least favourite train from the national rail network that is going to be on show at TSR multiple units weekend, it made me smile because everyone don’t like Pacers because of the ride quality.

Excellent video, Simon, even if the name of the railway line is a bit of a misnomer (I didn’t see a steam loco!)
That line has an interesting history and I had to look at a map to see the “y” nature of it.
Glad they’ve saved some of those bus trains (I say I’m glad, I never even went on one! 😜) - shame it looked so quiet on the railway

This is the 2 car class 142004 is now at the Telford Steam Railway 🚃 is the train 🚆 🚊 🚂 that never 👎 dies has originally been in the north of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 known as BR - British 🇬🇧 Rail. On bank 🏦 holiday Monday 1st 🥇 January 1996 (New 🆕 Year’s Day), it was privatised probably called NWRR - North West Regional Railways 🚆 🚃 . It became FNW - First North Western in around March 1997 and in December 2004 became NT - Northern. It’s the train 🚊 🚆 🚂 has previously been subleased to the now defunct train 🚂 🚊 🚆 company FGW - First Great Western from December 2007 to December 2008 on a short term lease with class 142028/062/067/070 and the rest are class 142001/009/029/030/063/064/068 went until late ⏰ 2011 which class 142029/064 went back to the north of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in October 2011 and class 142001/009/040/063/068 went back to the north of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 is November 2011. There are 96 x 2 car class 142 pacer trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 are 142001-096 and many have previously been scrapped at the scrapyard. Good 👍. It serves the crappy 💩 2 car class 142 pacer trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 right for being scrapped at the scrapyard. Middle finger 🖕 to the class 142 pacer trains 🚂 🚊 🚆. Most class 142 pacer trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 are used for preserved railways 🚆 🚃 in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. All class 140 - 144 pacer trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 have open windows 🪟, automatic operating doors 🚪, luggage 🧳 rack, bins 🗑️ 🚮 , no smoking 🚭 accommodation is because it’s prohibited 🚫 on all trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 , buses 🚍 🚌 🚎, taxis 🚕 🚖 , railway 🚃 stations 🚉 , enclosed public places and inside the buildings around the world 🗺️ 🌍 🌎 🌏 , has a toilet 🚻 🚾 🚽 in the DMSL - Driving Motor Standard Lavatory 🚻 🚾 🚽 , a ladder 🪜 in the DMSL and has gangway within unit. The pacer trains 🚆 🚊 🚂 aren’t used for public transport anymore. 👍

may be waiting a long time i suspect as the line does not exist as of yet and has a main road to cross !!! The TSR should have applied for the line from Madeley junction instead of lightmoor junc and then it would be ready to run right away as the line is complete . Never quite understood why they are staying at horsehay and needing to lay track and never had a sensible answer when i have asked the question. I know the line is still under NR control and has a blockade on it as there was a bridge strike a few years ago . the line currently stops at Coalbrookdale station and does not reach the river at Ironbridge at all
