I'm ashamed to admit, for as many times as I've played this game, I never once noticed the song playing is a different rendition of "Still Alive", the song GLadOS sings during the credits of the first Portal.
To give you some credit, the song is extremely compressed with the radio effect and the overall rhythm of the song is different and your brain might’ve just assumed that the “Still alive” Melody was just a leitmotif

I mean, most radio transmitters just play prerecorded audio, so it wouldn't be surprising if there was just some transmitter that still had power playing this constantly. My guess is that it's a special aperture transmitter as the station is 85.2MHz as radio stations in the USA broadcast at 88MHz - 108MHz, so this station couldn't be heard on a commercial radio.
@@timetraveler7 back before dtv, you could pick up some channels audio signal on an FM radio right at the bottom portion of that frequency range, so for example with channel 6 it was right underneath 88 MHz, around 87.9 MHz. I'm not sure of the exact frequency mapping for the different channel numbers but none of it really matters anymore because analog TV is no longer really a thing
As someone who had the normal version as an alarm clock for school, i can say hearing this feels like going from having a PTSD to feeling bright and cheerful

This song is like a bath of bleach for my brain. It’s so white, if that makes sense. They truly perfected corporate music with this, it sounds like something that would be played 24/7 in every cubicle and in every elevator with no breaks, and it feels dehumanizing to even listen to it.
